Explain. I can't picture a Skyline where the engine loom doesn't come out through the firewall/A pillar region on the passenger (LH) side of the engine bay.

Hi guys

Was toying with the idea of shift the engine loom to go through the firewall to protect it abit more than running it along the drivers side has anybody done this.

Cheers

Have you ever done automotive wiring?

Im going to be using the factory loom so wont be doing any of the wiring.

So it is completed easily via magic and high hopes, just do it then!

Was ask for asshole opinions, was only asking if any body has dont it before. 🖕

You have to get the words correct in sentences for them to make sense.

That's not my opinion.

It must if you got to be a smart ass when somebody is only asking for advice. Next time dont bother unless you have something helpful to say.

Well let's be realistic, if you got the answer that someone had done it before, you would be 99% likely to ask how did you do it, wouldn't you?

Pretty sure no one has ever done it, because it hardly makes sense.

Nar I was meaning the left side engine loom.

Why the hell would you bother ? The passenger side ecu loom goes into the wheel arch from the cabin and then exits the wheel arch into engine bay.

The wiring in the wheel arch on the passenger side is maybe 100mm ? Again, why would you bother ? The one on the driver's side runs the entire length of the wheel arch, much more exposed as the length is way more than half a metre over your wheel.

No wonder people are giving you WTF are you thinking reactions, as the idea of rerouting the passenger side of the loom is completely unnecessary, and will achieve absolutely zero benefit.

Was thinking of putting the ecu on the gearbox tunnel and cutting a hole on the drivers side of the motor.

Also if you wanted to do this, a factory loom would not reach anywhere required, and major modification of loom would be needed.

Putting a loom through the firewall means cutting a new hole of course but the problem then is 'will everything fit through the hole'? Cutting new holes through the firewall is generally a bad idea anyway, particularly if the aim is just to save a bit of wiring length. Ignoring any re plugging that will be required, eek.
