Need a car trailer (and someone / something to tow it)

Recommended Posts

Driving home from Emerald to Tarneit yesterday, got to FTG, pulling up at a set of lights, and the clutch pedal in the 32 dropped to the floor. Worked out that the piston was falling out the back of the clutch slave cylinder. Surmise either the clutch pressure plate has collapsed, or the fork has collapsed.

Anyway, having trouble finding a trailer to get the car home. If you can help at all, please sms me - 0421 331 954. If necessary, I can pay fuel costs, etc for your help.

TIA.

Probably pivot ball snapped, happened to me coincidently in an R32 also. What are you like at rev matching? If you do alright you can just drive it, i've done it a few times in different cars though its a bitch in the city. Just get it into first, turn the key to start it in gear and away you go. To stop just put it in neutral, stop then turn it off, put it back in first gear ready to go again.

I mean, back in 19jggity3 when I was young we used to have to do that in the snow, uphill both ways in the boiling sun. You must be granny shifting instead of double clutching like you should have!

Yeah agreed elk...surely you can drive home with no clutch (as long as the battery/starter are good and not too many traffic lights :) )

I drove for a week in gq patrol with no clutch. Even reverse paralell parked it. That was exciting (put in low range for that one)

Can't have done the engine bearings any good

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
    • Well the articals keep saying a Q50s (Skyline in Japan) with a new Manual gearbox. I like the talk about the new looks with the round tail lights. I hope they bring back the retro look like they did with the Z
