Brake lights staying on.

Hi folks. Haven't driven  my Satgea for quite a while, connected the battery and noticed the brake lights are staying on. I've located the switch which is working. It seems when I have my foot off the brake the switch isn't touching the pedal. Before I loosen the nut and adjust it, just wanted to ask whether there should be a rubber block or something between the pedal and the switch. Just seems odd that I'd have to reposition the switch. Seems more likely to me there must be a rubber or something that's come off.

A suitably thick, small piece of wood or plastic, taped onto the pedal where that stopper would go, will do you until it arrives in the mail.

Can confirm. Found a small pile of random shattered plastic on the carpet once, brake lights staying on. Old stopper completely disintegrated

I had the same issue come up on the weekend. It was a pain to push the new stopper back in!
