Sent them an email about 2 weeks ago regarding a rear bar they have up on their site, no response so far... But then again, I should just call them... Havent bought a car through them, but if your looking for a r33 , take a look on the cars for sale on this forum, there are a few nice ones going for good prices...

Cheers

It's very hard to be bluntly honest in an open forum, but there are a lot of better Skyline dealers than Envy...

Try Prestige at Balgowlah, they usually have a nice range of cars & seem like straight up guys to deal with - I didn't buy a car from either of them because I found the right car privately.

Hey Guys - more northern beachies eh?

Yeah there are a lot of things to be said about envy, unfortunately you can't go into the negatives on this forum due to liability issues. (ie, you bag them, i get sued :P).

Christian

Thanks guys,

I wasn't out to bag Envy, I am just tring to norrow down who to look at in Sydney before I get there next Monday, As I won't have alot of time to waste with no hopers. And I saw a couple of cars I thought looked half decent on there web site.

I would love to just pay cash for a members car because I know I won't get ripped off ( i would hope so anyway :jk: ). But i have an Olf 95 ef falcon with heeps and heeps of KLM's on board which i want to get rid of in the proccess, and i have found it hard to see it privately.

So I will definately check out Prestige. Any other dealers? Come on guys, You are all driving around in your great skylines. You must have seen some decent cars in deals yard that you can say might be worth a second look. I won't be leaving for Sydney till early Monday morning (3.5 hr drive) so I will check back to see what you guys have said

Cheers

madcabbie: From what I understand, envy is on the borderline of going down the plug hole.

As Prank said, there are several stories about their dealings, most of which are negative and therefore wont be mentioned.

I have some friends who have bought cars from them and dealt with them for servicing etc and werent overly happy.

On the other hand, Northshore prestige gets glowing reports for their honesty and quality cars. Good prices too, so it would be worth your while to go and have a chat to them

I couldn't help but notice you were looking at 33's on the Northen Beaches..

I know you wernt keen on buying privatly but I just thaught I would let you know that I've got an R33 for sale which you may be interested in, drop me a PM if you want to know more..

Apart form that I found Envy to be ok .. mind you the few times i went in there was about 3 years ago.

so things apparently have changed.

Oh, and Just Jap at Kirrawee has a couple of nice 1996 model white GTS-T's in good condition for around $22k.

Thanks Blitz,

I was budgeting for around $19k mark with my trade. Got finance aproval for $15k

I guess I could always see if the dealers are willing to do a better deal on finance and maybe go a little higher.

theres an idea..lol

I posted this in another thread about Sydney dealers, but I suggest you stay away from most of the dealers along Paramatta Rd (there is a bunch of them.. I think the suburb is Concord). I spent some time at a number of dealers looking at cars and almost without exception they were unhelpful, rude, and in one case wouldn't even let you test drive a car until you agreed to buy it (most would just flatly refuse).

the last time i was in Sydney, just over 6 months ago, looking at imports, one dealer said sure you can test drive, Once i put down a deposite. Like I went back there again.

I have had the displeasure of dealing with these asshats..... And I shall never deal with them again.

They charged me a stupid amount for tasks which were either poorly completed or not completed at all;

Take for example the $83 "New Battery Install" which wasn't even a new battery, nor installed, heck it wasn't even secured. It appeared they grabbed another battery out of another car and just chucked it in there. And I litterally mean chucked. It wasnt tied down, screwed in, nothing. Just sitting there.

And then there's the "New Wheel Studs" Oh, I mean the "Hey this bolt fits, lets chuck it on" That was also awesome.

Awful and would not reccomend them.

I'm gonna start a business selling imports - Called NO BULLSHIT IMPORTS.

Do you reckon it will work ???

I know your taking the piss, but being serious for a moment, I think there is definately room in the Sydney market for another straight foward, no BS importer.

LW.

Thanks for all the advice. Looks like i will be staying clear of Envy.

Thanks duncan, those at Powerplay look real nice but just outta price range.

I am thinking that since i have finance approved for $15k, I might ask Unique if they wanna finance me $20k and get me a GTR....yummmmyyyyy. Think i would rather a GTR for 25k than a gts-t for same price.

With that performance who needs mods. plus i can insure it for $850 full comprehensive......hmmmmm....even better huh

thanks again guys for all your advice.

heres hoping i be a skyline own real soon

Hey I'm selling my GTST so of course I've got a bias.

But, for god sake don't buy an 89 GTR if you are on a budget. seriously. I bought a cheap 91 gtr myself and they will need a heap of money spent on them...don't forget they are 15 year old performance cars and they lead a hard life...and, they cost twice as much to fix.

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
