also, what time?

Hehe making times could be a mistake with this crew. Nah if it's only you me and andrew on friday night then it will be easy. I'd say just whenever we are ready. Try to make it around 7 to 8 at Andrews. Will take you an hour to get to his from the CBD. But I guess we better ask Andrew if it's ok to meet at his first thou.

Hey Al,

Yeah mate shouldn't be a problem at all. Your both welcome. We might get you to chip in a few bucks to keep my mates mum happy. Wont be expensive at all. Just tried to call you back, but went straight to msg bank.

What day / time you thinking of heading down?

Ok - I want a bed! :)

Duncan - you can meet at my house and we'll go from there - I will give you easy to follow instructions later.

Remember we have Geoff and Emre on Sat night too.

Shivram - your boss get in?

Thanks Snowie for looking out for us.

Chris, I'm coming down Sat afternoon sometime so just a single for me. Thanks a bunch mate. Chipping in is no problem. I know kinda where to go but I'm sure I wont miss it.

Yep Aaron is in with his STI and Frank will also be there (he has a worked 33 GTR, twin 2530's etc).

Should be a great weekend. I'm considering buying a video camera atm.

thanks for your help Andrew :)

Shivam.

Shivram - your boss get in?

I've never met Crazy Frank before - I know he knows Emre so this will be good.

Apparently my best time at PI is only 1sec or so behind Crazy Franks best - will be fun trying to match him for sure.

Also - the weather looks awesome for the weekend. I was actually hoping it was going to have a couple of short showers like last time. Was fun playing with Scotsman in the rain! :)

Ok Boys and Girls - just got a call from Chris Kelly to say that the HSV day is now full again. Apparently we have our own group for the track that will also include an M3, an M5 and a couple of Porsches.

He was also like "Damn you guys are fast apparently. Most of the guys are around the mid 2 minute mark with only a few at the low 2 mins." Basically no one under 2 mins. :D

Sounds like a come on. He must think we're stupid if he wants us to turn up acting like world beaters, only to get paddled.

I'd prefer to be amongst some of the other makes to see what they are running like and where they are fast.

and so we can burn a few of them. Light it up out of the corner and still pull past them on the straight.

I guess we will have to wait and see. Dont they do a super sprint at the end? Wont this mix up the field, because I think it's all based on your times throughout the day.

I'll be happy to crack 2:00 on street rubber.

The super sprint wil be awesome if it's what I think it is.

Go the road rubber. Its actually more fun on road rubber because your car moves around and it teaches you to be a lot more delicate with the controls.

But as far as lap times go, around place like Phillip Island, i think there is even more then usual to be gained from grippy tyres. A sub 2:00 lap time would be awesome, going on the GTST/GTT from the last day, that would be about a 1:55 on sticky stuff :D

LOL. my car still aint ready so good thing i didnt make plans for this weekend. Sandown is looking the good though.

Enjoy ppl and dont forget we need plenty of photos

Do NSW proud:) , the boys down here are starting to mock Team Trackday based on my lacklustre performances to date

haha, just blame the car

I dunno how I'll go, but at least I promise to "Drive it like I hired it" :bahaha:

Ok, Anyone who is planning on having a meal at the house. There was no BBQ there, so I'm bringing one down that we can all use. So feel free to bring you BBQ stuff.

Andrew - what time do you want to see me and Duncan tonight?

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
