dammit I left my Maserati membership card and CAMs license in my car... and the car is at the panel shop. Do you think I can submit my entry sans membership number and CAMs license number?

and Roy can you sort me out with a bonnet strap?

Cheers

Just dump in some toluene, there are no rules regarding fuel for these events so it is just cheap insurance. Anyone who thinks it is "cheating" should be presented with your balls so they can suck upon them.

thats gay i wanted to come to this in the ceffy but my pay day isnt til 3 days after...

can we come and spectate? i would put the soarer in if we still have it by then... but stuff trying to guide that boat around at high speeds on a track :D

Yes i know who to contact :D

Have you run yours with C16 yet??

No C16 I reckon is extreme. But I'm very keen to give the Turbomax a shot. Just about every one of the winning cars at the Dutton were running on one of the elf fuels. I think I might try the Turbomax at Sandown.

You definitely do with the C16 which is why I dont want to use it. But the elf racing fuels are not so bad. They have both the elf LMS which is 98RON and the Tubromax which is 102RON. Both will give power increases with just the fuel - but better results can be had from tuning. Mostly due to the timing advances you can put in without getting any pinging.

Have seen 20% gains in power on both an EVO and a Soarer from using the elf fuels.

How much is 102ron per litre now?

Not as stupid as $8/liter like the C16 is it?

Hmmm... seems silly to put a safety margin in with the fuel, then take it back out with the ignition.

...and that is my 2¢/litre

I didn't think fuel itself will add any more power, rather with better fuel you can run more advanced timing, compression etc. without encountering detonation.

Its the raising of the detonation threshold, which allows more aggressive timing / boost etc that will give the extra hp.

ie: If your car is tuned to run on pulp and you add a tankful of av or any other fancy brew you will not see an increase in power without altering your tune.

is there an online place where i can check out prices of things like harnesses (no not ur ones denham i want ones that will actually protect me lol), bonnet pins and helmets etc

tried revolution but i couldnt find the prices... i wanna get some bonnet pins... some harnesses and stuff before i get on the track.

    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
