Look if there's anyone from SAU qualified to see what this car can do at PI then that person is unquestionably me. Anyone else here done a sub 1.50s in a skyline???

Plus - as club President it is my right to first drive any new car bought into the club. Much like the ancient rule allowing Kings the first night with any mans new wife.

:D

meh...doing 1:50s in a car that should be doign 1:38s

How about a bloke that stretches the car to its absolute maximum for a 1:58 and blows up two corners past the finish line...thats taking things to the limit of what they car do, Chuck Yeager / Top Gun style:thumbsup:

Hey if i brake it, you pay for it...so how about it:)

i've said it once and i'll say it again - you should have been a salesman. muhaha

Snowy - if anyone is going to break her in on an Aussie track then its gonna be me! :D

Seriously tho I don't think i'll make it to P.I. Just found out that one of the turbos is leaking a bit of oil so gotta get a kit put through it first. Also got a quote from Centreline and theres a small fortune worth of work to be done there.

LOL...we are all chumps behind the wheel:) Just get out there and scare yourself sensless:thumbsup:

Im guessing the pace that Snowie goes is enough to scare the avergae punter sh1tless, but i think if i was a passenger the AFL on the stereo would help me relax/stare death in the face:)

Thanks Daz and GTTR34.

I just used your contacts and deal done to get some RE55's sent up to me in Sydney.

I just rang and said I was from Skylines Australia but in Sydney and we couldn't get those prices up here and would he be interested in sending them up to me. He confirmed the price and said yep no problems at all.

So thanks guys. I appreciate it. Any guesses on how many seconds a lap faster I'll be with these as opposed to cheap-shit-no-brand-you've-ever-heard-of tyres that I normally run?

At Wakefield i think they will only be worth 2-3 seconds based on the times Duncan use to do in his GTST.

Just remember these arent a race slick, but they are still nowhere near as durable as road tyres, so if your cambver etc is off then you can hurt , ie blister tyres, and you can flat spot them as they are much softer then road tyres.

Other then that enjoy...let us know the time difference aroudn Wakefield, im hoping to give a 1:09 a scare with some on my car, but will be happy with a 1:10:)

So true... I flat spotted one D01J at Oran Park when I made the mistake of not braking in a DEAD straight line. I was coming down the straight into turn 1 and had the wheel sliiiiiiightly turned to the left to get a better corner entry line, and ended up unloading the fleft wheel and it locked up.

But because the right front wheel was still gripping and braking, I didn't realise until it was too late

In about 30 metres, I managed to wear right through into the metal bands   :)

Hey Merli, all up how many track days would you have done in your old R33 with the 3040 on it with stock internals. And where you always running the same boost / 280rwkws?

There are a few guys down here with +300rwkws RB25s winding back boost / ignition etc so that the cars only make 250rwkws when they go onto the track. Based on your old car, Doughboys and a few others i would have thought that 280rwkws would be fine if still tuned correctly?!?!?! Your thoughts?

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
