For those who have found a (one) huntsman in their car, I seem to recall hearing that huntsmen pair up (not sure if for life) so if you find and kill one, you probably have its other, very pissed off, mate/partner in the car with you as well.

On that note, safe driving. (and I wonder if they found a nice place to lay their eggs)

oohh that one behind the clock looks nice. yummy

had me a spider in my shower the other nite. it was trying to climb up the wet screen. it kept on falling down. amusing, but SOMEONE(looking in cocos direction) would die. i used to be terrified beyond beleif of spiders when i was younger, (prob because i used to live in a infested house. whenever i went into the bathroom i used to check every possible place a spider could be before showering. uhhh.

my cats name is coco

im so glad to see im not alone. i almost had an accident when a huntsman crawled out onto the sunvisor in front of my face. i swerved off the road into a driveway and jumped out. refused to go within 5 metres of the car until i could see the dead carcass. my mate thought it was hilarious until he realised i was serious and had to find it and kill it before we could go anywhere.

Somehow just having the link the these fella's in this thread didn't seem to be enough.

But they are not as big as they look, that's the dude's sleeve on the right of the picture.

Still big enough but!!

coco, they've probably nested in your airvents, so when you put your heater on full blast their spawn are gonna come flying out at you and sting you to death...

ffs they're just spiders, they're intelligent enought to know that if you f**k with a 6 foot mammal you'll most probably gonna end up gettin squished. they use their venom to hunt shit to eat, and they know they can't eat you. they'll only use it on you if you act like a tard n poke it with a stick or something like that.

Whitetails on the other hand are the bastards of spiders... they'll sting you just to confuse you so they can make a quick retreat, unfortunately their sting makes body parts rot. :(

lmao... :(

id like to see coco in a car during a 45 degree day. He'd be too scared to turn on the air conditioning knowing that... i wonder if he'd rather have a heat stroke than turn on the AC

But like funky said, huntsmen are probably scared more of us than we are of them so im pretty sure if a spider could do a "get-this-human-off-me" dance it would be worse than coco's trademarked one.

My suggestion is to confront your phobia, possibly take a bath with a tub filled with huntsmen... just like on Fear Factor (god i wanna go on that show).

That is just nasty !!

Is that a hunstsman in the picture above ?

I am scared witless of spiders and the biggest ones you get in the uk are about 1/10 that size !! there is no way I could even contamplatedealing with something like that bite or not it is feckin huge !

I once had a spider deop off my sun visor in front of me was about 3cm across including the legs and I nearly crashed my car. I think I'd just pass out if one of those bad boys jumped out on me.

/Steve the wimpy uk muppet

Dont trust little spiders they are sneeky bastards. :)

Big spiders do have a few advantages:

1. its harder for them to hide.

2.you can here them comming (the 8 footsteps)

3. when they bite you its easy to tell. The limb is missing or the puncture marks are the size of bullet holes. :skull:

Yeah we get decent sized spiders at my place all the time, it's an old 2-storey wooden place so there's heaps of places for them to hide and they've had many many years to do so. It's pretty common for us to get spiders the size of my palm, and not surprising to occasionally find one nearly as big as my whole hand. It's farkin excellent when we have exchange students... :bahaha:

When Mum's rellies from England came here a few years back, they spotted a daddy long legs, crapped themselves a bit but after an hour or so they were OK. Then one of them spotted a huntsman (one of the biggish ones that goes out about one knuckle from the palm) on the wall in the bathroom and they very nearly booked into a hotel :D

lmao @ 4ds, funny stuff mate :)

when they byte you

Haha nerd :)

    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
    • Does that German restaurant still exist in the old place out the NW end of Goulburn? When I say "out the NW end of"...I am really being vague. It was 1997 when I was last there, and the only point of reference I can recall is that it was on the opposite side of the main drag from the big merino. And when I say "opposite side of the main drag", I don't mean "on the main drag". It was either a couple of streets back from there, or might have even been out in the sticks a bit further. Was an old farm building or mill or somesuch. And when I say "the big merino" I might actually be thinking of a completely different part of town, because I just looked on maps and the big bugger is not where I remembered him to be! The food was good, consisting largely of various German mystery-meat sausage/loaf things and kartofflen.
    • So while the second sentence is completely correct and the whole point of the conversation, the first sentence bears consideration. If this bloke is just hoping to throw big turbos on and drive it around, because there are no helpful facilities at all in his tropical paradise** then he likely has zero chance of even knowing what the TP is on the last column in the stock maps, let alone know whether the ECU is operating anywhere near it or past it. So the point is very very moot. And, per what I said before, at stock boost on those turbos, you may well be off the end of the map. **I'm just back from Vanuatu, so I know exactly what small Pacific nations can be like wrt paradise without requisite facilities. But it's not even that simple. I put a high flow on my car and had to drive it around without a proper tune because of the lack of opportunity*** to put the bigger AFM and injectors into it to allow it to be tuned. I had to turn the boost down to less than I had before, and back off the boost controller's ramp, because it was exploring parts of the map that it didn't drive in before, and really couldn't access for tuning on the dyno either, and so was pinging. It was still well within the last column, because when I first**** set up the Nistune on the Neo I rescaled all axes of the maps to give some more space to explore. ***Family dyno was broken ****This was 13 years ago, and the TIM thing wasn't a thing then and so TP would definitely grow when pushing past the stock tune's limits.
