I'm going to make a demo one that i can take around and show people, then look at getting some circuit boards printed up for them :)

How i made it.

I take a 240vac to 5vdc transformer, power up a small microphone then run the output through an amplifier circuit and into my Microprocessor.

Inside the Microprocessor I've written some code to look at the shape of the voltage spike and determine if it's a clap or not.

If it sees a clap it starts a timer that waits for the second clap. If all the parameters are met eg, amplitude, frequency (sharpness) and time between claps, the Microprocessor switches a relay on which switches the light on...

All of this fits in behind the switch plate on the wall and there is an extra switch that houses the microphone.

The first Version of software started switching on the lights with coughing and laughing and stuff. But Version 2 seems rock solid so far!

Hopfully i can make them quickly and package them nicely for around fiddy bucks. depending if anyone actually wants one of course...

What do you mean by fixed lighting? Given that I can switch a relay with sounds waves, I'm pretty confident I can switch anything with just about anything :)

nvm, I think I answered my own question just after I asked it anyway :P

Is there a Marsupial in the House???

You Bet your ARSE!!!

Took us a few weeks to prove to the realestate that we had more than just mice in the ceiling, but there aint no doubt now! :nyaanyaa:

Little Bastard chewed a decent hole in the fascia board and punched through the air vent in the ceiling, leaving a bit of a trail and a small gift.

Moving house in a week so... Meh... Whatever.

Sure did! Webber got away clean.... then I started to worry cos you can only go backwards in placings from there lol.. wasn't sure he'd be able to keep it up till the end but he did YAY!

Can't believe I haven't seen a GIF of when he sprayed himself in the face with champers yet :D

I think he played it pretty safe, didn't risk trying to build a gap or anything, which to be honest is pointless because of the high chance of a safety car to spoil it, a very mature drive. BRING ON CANADA!

as for the gif, its only a matter of time!! lol.

Yeah, and I liked his little comment in the press conference about the team strategy, basically saying that if they'd ripped him off and somehow given Vettel the win "that's not what was supposed to happen" or something along those lines. I love how he's not afraid to say things, and he does it really subtly so it doesn't sound like he's bagging his team or team mate

Oh and:

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
