RB25DET Series II

Stock set up with APEXi Filter and "replacement" 2.5" exhaust I made 220 RWHP (164 RWKW). With the addition of the AEM EMS, I made 245 RWHP (183 RWKW). Dyno Graph Below. Both runs were at the stock 8 psig boost level.

RB25DETDyno.jpg

I then added an APEXi N1 Cat Back, and a 3" stright thru cat delete, 4" intercooler, and a Greddy Intake Manifold. The results are 310 RWHP (231 RWKW) at the same 8 psig. We tried to up the boost, but it would only go to 10 psig at 6200, then it bled back to 8 psig by 7K. The turbo is pretty much done. On this dyno pull, I made 250 RWTQ (34.6 KG-M) from 3000 to redline.

Car is a R33 GTS-T

Mods:

3" Turbo Back Exhaust

Made 247.4HP (184.49Kw)

Got it Dyno tuned today at Unigroup Engineering.

SAFC

11 PSI Boost

Made 206.6kw ( 277.06 Hp)

Did a really good job on the tune

THANKS GUYS!

btw, the first power run was when the safc was installed and just all over the place so take no notice of that (obviously the squiggly line one).

AFRs were 12.4 dropping to 12 at higher rpms.

boost: ran 10psi on blitz dual sbc

air filter: trust pod

Car was lacking a Z-32 afm, and coils showed hot spots as we tryed tuning at 15psi, but had a lot of splattering. Tuner was happy with 201rwkW at 10psi.

Hybrid Copy FMIC

NGK Iridium Spark Plugs (1.1mm)

Hybrid Dual-Stage EBC

SAFC2 D1 Limited Edition

Tuned using BP Ultimate (98RON) @ 11psi.

This was the absolute max we could drain out of the car during the dyno tuning at Hitman - Injection Tuning. The SAFC2 and stock ECU combination was limiting our numbers through the protection systems (fuel cut, rich and retard etc.)

However, full boost was reached at 1,800rpm (11psi) and we got 198.2rwkw at the end of the day. Considering we achieved this without a full exhaust  I'd say this was one farkin' good upgrade setup.

Next thing is to finish the exhaust with a 3" Front/Dump Pipe and 4" Hi-Flow Cat, get bigger injectors (Nismo 480cc) and a new ECU (thinking Haltech e11v2 or HKS F-Con Is).

Then we will be shooting for 240rwkw to 280rwkw depending on how my gearbox likes it :) But that's ok, there's a new box being designed right now for my car :D

see latest turbo compare graph.

if you want your dyno run / turbo combo on it please send me a pm

please make sure if you do you have a dyno sheet in 4th gear and its an r33 rb25

and the turbo combo is not already on the compare sheeet.

thanks

    • -10 is plenty for running to an oil cooler. When you look at oil feeds, like power steering feeds, they're much smaller, and then just a larger hose size to move volume in less pressure. No need for -12. Even on the race cars, like Duncans, and endurance cars, most of them are all running -10 and everything works perfectly fine, temps are under control, and there's no restrictions.
    • Update: O2 sensor in my downpipe turned out to be faulty when I plugged in to the Haltech software. Was getting a "open circuit" warning. Tons of carbon buildup on it, probably from when I was running rich for a while before getting it corrected. Replaced with new unit and test drove again. The shuffle still happens, albeit far less now. I am not able to replicate it as reliably and it no longer happens at the same RPM levels as before. The only time I was able to hear it was in 5th going uphill and another time in 5th where there was no noticeable incline but applying more throttle first sped it up and then cleared it. Then once in 4th when I slightly lifted the throttle going over a bump but cleared right after. My understanding is that with the O2 sensor out, the ECU relies entirely on the MAP tune and isn't able to make its small adjustments based on the sensors reading. All in all, a big improvement, though not the silver bullet. Will try validating the actuators are set up correctly, and potentially setting up shop time to tune the boost controller on closed loop rather than the open loop it is set to now. Think if it's set up on closed loop to take the O2 reading, that should deal with these last bits. Will try to update again as I go.
    • More so GReddy oil relocation kits, sandwich plates, etc. all use 10AN fittings. And same, I've only used 10AN and my car sees track work (circuit, doing laps, not 10 sec squirt business).
    • street use or race track, what hose size and why? what factors change with the hose size options ?   see most comon is an10. when you see most oem external coolers are closer to an12? does high volume oil pump like nitto need an12 or 10 be just fine
