Mid Feb would be good - hopefully will cool a bit.

Hey Trident, I had a walk around LH camp the other day, that place would be great for a large scale meet later in the year. There would be parking for as many cars as you could think of, and being so isolated it offers a degree of saftey. Maybe a Autumn/Spring meet? Good time of year for some mountain cruises......

I like your thinking, if we get enough ppl interested, it would be ideal for a weekend meet/party.

How about we post onto the NSW/ACT/VIC forums once we establish a date... I think we need a show of hands (maybe a poll?) of who would really come... and would pay for it of course.

I kinda know the current owners, and I don't think it would be very expensive if we booked the whole place out. There would be bed accomadation for 60 - 80 people, plus BULK floor space - not to mention camping if anyone is THAT crazy.

So, lets get the ball rolling, April (even easter) would be a great time, Autumn is very nice up there as you know.

Anyhow LH camp = :rave:

I've also got some DJ stuff if we need it.

Yeah sounds kewl, but lets have a meeting about it with the rest of the 'local gang' and sort it out. If you could bring some accom. prices to the table so we know what we are looking at, that would be a start.

I reckon a meeting at the Shanty pub on Sunday the 30th Jan start at 1200 midday. I'll talk to Mick Neason and see if we can get a corner of the dining room.

If anybody here reckons otherwise please speak out. If I don't hear any different within a week [11th next Friday], I'll go ahead with it.

Then I reckon we'll be able to really organise a weekend bash.

We have to think about food, drink, entertainment, and accommodation.

Probably need deposits from those attending so we know exactly who's coming.

And, we are all different, all ages, and ethnic backgrounds etc etc etc so whatever we do we have to do for everyone. We all have or admire Skylines though..................

Some of the roads are a little ordinary, but you can drive around the big potholes :D

I'll make some calls and get the prices. Deposits a must, and I know a few people who would go to the meeting, me included :(

Definatley BYO though, its MUCH easier.

Tri n Co,

Alan the Vic vice pres is in town at the Nats. We had organised a dinner in Braddon and had 25 or so locals attend so we could Drink, eat and watch the cars cruise the strip. We mentioned this thread. Al appears keen, so are we (ACT), so we may be able to count on his support for the Vic's.

Nothing of real substance just general chit chat. So don't stop planning and organising. Just to let you know that momentum is gaining.

Thanks for your post. Plz let us know how the meet goes and if you want a Canberra voice/rep.

Edit: A Thought! If considering something like the Easter Weekend then maybe we should be thinking of our Bro's in SA. Depends on how big you want this shindig? Cubes is likely to be your man in SA. Again - Just a thought.

Yeah, We will meet up and have a look at how many people and stuff we can cater for... It could be bigger than ben hur. I missed the dinner but was in Braddon Saturday and met a few ACT guys, they seemed pretty keen to do something.

I'd guess if we could get 50 or so (which shouldn't be that hard) we could make it cost effective. We could cater, even do a throw around for charity... Tsunami maybe??? Get the media in? Around here most days are slow news, so that shouldn't be too hard. Also would be good to get some positive press, and exposure for the club.

its starting to sound good guys

Danny - where abouts is the shanty pub?

The shanty is just north of Wagga - about 10km or so on the highway. If anyone likes their bikes half as much as skylines they'll be in for a treat. Awesome little pub.

    • Hi all, I need to get this HKS SLD attached to my stock ECU because I've now got the German autobahn and faster European circuits to contend with.  The car is a manual 2dr ER34 with an AT ECU and I've realised the AT ECU has two pins for speed sensor signals: Pin 29: Vehicle speed sensor signal (Vehicle speed sensor 2) Pin *58: Output shaft rotation sensor signal (Vehicle speed sensor 1) - *RB25DET A/T model only Before I go butchering this harness, is anyone sure of which pin is the correct one for signal adjustment? The attached document from HKS indicates pin 29 but I found this situation mentioned in the following thread on a different forum (R34 GTT Auto Trans Speed Cut Problem | Zerotohundred) mentioning pin 58 needing to be altered by member zephuros, albeit it seems to be for an RSM-GP and the info appears to be old.  R34_All_Workshop_Manual-pages-2.pdf R34_All_Workshop_Manual-pages-3.pdf R34_All_Workshop_Manual-pages-1.pdf HKS SLD Vehicle Pin out P59-P70 ER34-pages.pdf

    • What is the "compromise" that you think will happen? Are you thinking that something will get damaged? The only things you have to be concerned about with spherical jointed suspension arms are; Arguments with the constabulary wrt their legality (they are likely to be illegal for road use without an engineering certificatation, and that may not be possible to obtain). A lot more NVH transmitted through to the passengers (which is hardly a concern for those with a preference for good handling, anyway). Greatly increased inspection and maintenance requirements (see above points, both).   It is extremely necessary to ask what car you are talking about. Your discussion on strut tops, for example, would be completely wrong for an R chassis, but be correct for an S chassis. R32s have specific problems that R33/4 do not have. Etc. I have hardened rubber bushes on upper rear control arms and traction rods. Adjustable length so as to be able to set both camber and bump steer. You cannot contemplate doing just the control arms and not the traction arms. And whatever bushing you have in one you should have in the other so that they have similar characteristics. Otherwise you can get increased oddness of behaviour as one bushing flexes and the other doesn't, changing the alignment between them. I have stock lower rear arms with urethane bushes. I may make changes here, these are are driven by the R32's geometry problems, so I won't discuss them here unless it proves necessary. I have spherical joints in the front caster rods. I have experienced absolutely no negatives and only positives from doing so. They are massively better than any other option. I have sphericals in the FUCAs, but this is driven largely by the (again) R32 specific problems with the motion of those arms. I just have to deal with the increased maintenance required. Given how much better the front end behaves with the sphericals in there.....I'd probably be tempted to go away from my preference (which is not to have sphericals on a road car, for 2 of the 3 reasons in the bulleted list above), just to gain those improvements. And so my preference for not using sphericals (in general) on a road car should be obvious. I use them judiciously, though, as required to solve particular problems.
