Nice racing guys... that 323 was good entertainment as well.. pity about the VL... although i think that trying to keep up with the GTRs on the track was a big ask...I heard the driver saying that he was doing 200(kms/hr) then something went "pop"... understatement or w00t!! That "pop" pretty much finished the day... Well done peeps and of course, well done John!! Nice to see the 33GTR own all the 32s!!! hahaha!

Yep, they'll be hosted online soon (like our website? www.gunnamotorsport.com hehehe), so once they are, i'll post the link.

You can email him on [email protected] though :P

edit:- Duncan, you've got a PM.

Drunkan,

What time did you arrive. I was there for the first 3 sessions and then had to shoot home for some "Family Time".

I had a good day, it took 3 sessions before I settles in.

John well done a good day, perhaps next time we could have less admin time and more track time. Aim to have the cars on the track by 9am. I dont think we started until almost 11?

It was an awesome day - great fun and lots of entertainment.

What happened to your car 88silhouette?  I was going to get some good photos to make up for the last time, but after the first lap you disappered.  I did get one shot though, which i'll email to you tomorrow... :)

afm plug was loose

when i left pit lane i shifted into 2nd gear and this made the freakin olug wiggle a bit

anyway just gonna solder the thing this week

shame i didnt see the holden on fire

Now that was a fun day,,, Thanks John. Top feeling not having to be towed back to the pits!!!!!!!. Now all I need is another track day soon just to finish off running it in.

Watch out all you quick guys this Rotors got shit-loads of grunt.

Kel great to actually see your GTR doing laps,,,it put a smile on my face.

Enjoy your week people I know I will,,,I'm still grinning.

Neil.

yeah plastic rear window due to over enthusiastic lightening procedures last night, we will probably return to glass window in future :uhh:

I actually think the plastic version worked quite well. it kept the outside outside and the inside inside. what more could you want. are you some kind of pedant? next you will need tyres on your wheels and all kind of crazy shit like that.

Kel, I dunno how you put up with it.

BTW, what about the large (understatement) 4WD that as Kel (or maybe it was Duncan) put it has been owned by the internet. hahah BI/GHEY...priceless.

Yep took a bit longer due to the last minute changes we had to do a sign on forms with Cams. There will be Professional photos link on our site very soon and there will be actions of yesterday on our DVD released in August.

Yes on handicap GTR Jason beat met I did 49.19 with slicks and Jason did a 50.66 on street tyres. He cheated though as had front diff still going, he he. Very cold day and traction was a big prob for the boat and yes I nearly clipped that Drive On Milk sign a few times. Best viewing area of future reference is southern end coming onto the straight.

I had new twin brake master set up which we had not tried on track and peddle was way too hard and could not pull it up at end of straight and had to brake way early. Actually went off the end twice. I could not lock the brakes no matter how hard I pushed and thought I was going to break the seat. I will be getting smaller master cylinders and testing and should be much better. Yes Jason or any other candidates next UAS track day at Oran South Sunday 25 September. Have your go.

Unfortunately Blair the pro video guy came late and missed me rounding up a stack of GTR's on the straight in the first session. Made my day thanks Paul you assisted this twice. Not good lots of cars did not see the day out MR2 did a gear box again and we quickly ran out of enough GTR's to play with. Zed powers on again.

bah! where is the time sheets man! Zed looked ok, but it's still not a GTR John, no matter how many GTR parts you have put on. I say give up the ghost mate, get a GTR under the UAS banner. I heard Jason wasn't even trying for that 50.66 the word is he kept grabbing at the thermos in his cup holder and sipping his latte all through the back section of the circuit...

good to see some GTR owners not afraid to get out there too. don't see that very often.

We are working with time keeper to get it all sorted and in correct classes of cars and will handicaps etc and a few cars not on the site. Should be all done tomorrow.

As a new club member and and my first time on a track i still have a grin from ear to ear. I would like to congratulate John and his team for organising such a top event. It was scary when i found out that i would be out with race cars but having some great tips from some of those instructers that were provided and my confidence growing iam hooked. Cant wait for the next one.

Sorry Nero,,,it looks like I edited your thread,,,I'm a dumb mod sometimes and hit the wrong button. What I was actually going to say is next time come down and say hello. Kel, Duncan and I are almost always at track days and we are a friendly bunch and can answer all your questions. It's not hard to pick us,,,,Yellow GTR,,,Black 350Z,,,White GTS-T with GTT wheels and my multi coloured Capri.

Glad you enjoyed the day buddy.

Neil.

    • Was there ever a model of the Stagea m35 that didnt have a badge on the grill? I thought I saw that somewhere, some aero edition or something? I cant find it again? davemoto
    • Its a 2002 vr-x four VQ25DET, silver. Coil overs, lowered, polished alloys and sport exhaust. Bit of a project, was sitting in a shed for a while but runs and drives great.
    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
