Do a search my friend there was a thread not long ago comapring the series one to series two R34's. Off the top of my head the R34 came out in 1998 and the series 2 came out in late 2000??? someone please correct me if im wrong.

The major differences between a GTT and GTR are 4WD bigger engine, extra turbo etc.

Series 1 came out in May/April '98 - The series 2 in Aug 2000

The difference's are mainly cosmetic (new front bar, darker wheels and GTR coloured interior) although the S2 has a little extra torque.

GTR wing - Adjustable and a little taller

GTT wing - Non adjustable sits lower with different tip design.

Hello All,

I have the same question as well. I am in the process of buying a GT-t from Japan (hopefully 2000 Series I or II) and have had some mixed responses from people when I have asked them how the car drives.

Haven taken one for a test drive I can say with some confidence that the acceleration of a GT-t is very similar to that of the old 185kW 5-litre V8's that Holden used to use before the 5.7-litre came along.

It does tend to come on boost a little later when compared to the R33 GTs but this is something you can get used to by either using the gearbox a little more intelligently or buying a good AM boost controller.

All in all its a good little car with exceptional value for money when you compare it to anything that is vaguely equivilant on the Australian market.

Umm i find that my stock R34 GT-t eats even brand new SS commodores. So i don't know how you'd think the old aussie made v8 is comparable to the rb25det neo engine. With the boost thing it's not bad really theres plenty of torque down low compared to the old non neo engines found in the r33's. So yeah. The comment about the power being like the old 5 litre engine though has left me dazzled.

Had mine for a year. Absolutely love it and very reliable. Used as a daily driver that sees about 50km a day. Basic mods and making ~200rwkw which I think is plenty for a daily driver. Haven't had a chance to run down the strip yet, but would like to soon.

Have only had some very minor issues and car has cost me less to run than my old liberty that liked to split cv boot seals every few months.

Minor issues so far:

*Blown park lights - Who cares when the replacement globes cost $1

* Climate control not working - Internal sensor was disconnected when stereo was fitted. Easy fix.

*Transmission went into safety cut out mode once - Not sure what caused this but it hasn't happened since.

For a manual like you specified you could pay anywhere from high 20s upto almost 40 depending on condition and mods. If you searched around you could probably find a very nice example in the lower range of that bracket.

Yeah that english.auto Website is pretty handy for a general guide to the auction prices. It even has some stats based on prices for diff colour choices etc....

But generally how much you pay is directly related to how many km a car has done. i.e. >80,000km and you are guaranteed a bargain

These two sites are archived from Nissan in Japan and are pretty interesting despite the crappy translation;

Series 1: May '98-August '00

Series 2: August '00 on

Good luck! Think i'm going with the Series 2, only because I want a newer car. There seems to be minimal difference between the two;

Except front bumper, badge location, front grille to name a few.

Sure are rare! This is the only other one I've ever seen:

http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...sp?StockID=2880

which sold for around $37k + tyres, rego and stamp duty

Yeah series 2 front bars aren't as sweet as S1's

That's why i went for the Nismo Aero front bar...looks a lot tougher

    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
