Anyone knows of american brand ITS turbo (innovative turbos)? I'm planning to put one on my r33, guy said its 500hp lag free turbo, i find it hard to believe but turbos exhaust housing is pretty small with big exhaust wheel and big compressor housing and wheel...anyone heard of these or seen them on a car...?

ITS is a very well-known (in USA) turbo company. There are one or two big name workshops in Aus that are now using these turbos. Innovative Turbo Solutionss also fabricate exhaust manifolds, wastegates, intakes and other turbo components.

There is also an ITS (Australia).

Becareful there's always a fine line between finding a good thing and being the person that posts up saying "dont buy one of these i did and it sucked".

Maybe if you put up the claimed specs and or a link to the website one of SAU's turbo specialists might look at it (discopotato p'raps).

yeah seen them at UAS. Quality of finish is about the same as garret stuff, not sure about internal quality though. They call it a 500hp turbo (going on the basis that the turbo you mean is the internal gate job like in the above picture), but i dont know where they get that from, it looks like a baby next to my 2835ProS that will only make ~460hp at the most.

That said thought i think UAS were getting somewhere round 250 at the wheels which is good for what it is. If i remember correctly i think it is oil cooled only. (?)

edit: if they are US made then that might explain why they call it a 500HP turbo.

I know for a fact US measure HP differently (Typical Yanks :D ) to the rest of the world. Their claimed 500Hp is most likely about 400Hp. It's not that they are BS'ing or exaggerating, but there formula for measuring Hp is completely different to most countries.

And so are there dyno measurements. :) I would take about 15-20% of any US HP figures.

And once again, ITS are a respected turbo company.

ITS is a valid brand of turbos, I know UAS has used them on a number of GTS-T's and made good power. I believe they are US made?

Thats the exact turbo I have on my RB20.

Dont get the rush till 4500rpm

And full boost is not till 6k.

Would be much better on RB25.

I made 225rwks@16psi (11.7:1 afr)

Rear AR is .48 too

You can see different ITS turbos available here: http://www.innovativeturbo.com.au/sh.html

Mine is T57-1 sreet series rated 500 hp

Same turbo made 327hp atw on r33 with standard computer, 420hp at 18psi, and im getting my car tuned next week with this turbo with wolf 3d computer and will run 15psi so we'll see what power it'll make, hopefully not too much for standard engine

    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
    • Thank you so much for the help
    • Yes it is ATF. I quote @Duncan "it takes a good synthentic auto trans fluid like Castrol Transmax Z" It's not a diff. It's a transfer case. Totally different thing. Yes, fluid will come out the sender hole. No you do not really need to drain it. Just pull the old, quickly poke the new, clean up and top up. But realistically, you should probably take the opportunity to change it anyway.
