Hey guys........TOP WEEKEND B)

First up, next time if I'm driving the day after I'll give the wang busters a miss - that first session was a nightmare combination of trying to drive fast while warding off a hangover!!! That said the wang buster drink was surprisingly good and might have to miss the driving to have a social the night before :P

Secondly a big congrats to Bass for putting in a fantastic time for their first time out there. That first session where you were right on my ass highlighted the differences between our cars - namely yours can actually handle :(

Anyways had a ball and bring on round 7.....

got any footage anyone?

No - because the stupid video camera decided 1st thing Sunday morning to pack up and die!!!!

My position around the track was cool too - not happy I missed it all. The rain made for some nice sideways action from some people (yes Pete - you especially).

If anyone did get any footage though yell out and we can add to the SAU Track DVD.

Shiv: Hehe - no, we're not talking about you. Long story about Ash, his future in-laws and their jailhouse shenanagins.

Bec: I have a small clip of Snowplow. Will show you on Tues. Plus a rather poorly-lit clip of you guys drinking, and me claiming to be the bar manager so offering drinks to Brisby.

Have a whole bunch of stuff from last December's fun day too.

Still there were plenty of new moments. Ash "manwhore" and the offer to do three generations of Benailans just one of em...  :P  oh, and the death threat levelled at Bec.

LOL. Ease up... i had only spoken to the first bunch of Girls and the "label" was slapped out, i reckon i was in with a chance too! lol.

I just like ladies too much :)

LOL...yeh, but as great as these weekends are, and they are great. They are still primarily about going to the track...if getting hammered and playing up is what your out for, dont wait until the next track day just give me a call this Friday afternoon

I finish work around 11pm Fri night. I'm always keen to cause trouble

LOL, Adz/Bris... we always have crazy nights, how we aint been in serious trouble yet i'll never know!

Hehe - keep that number Snowy!

Will get a photo of Rachel printed for Tuesday - we can all sign it for her :)

Hahaha - gold - we should send a photo of us all skulling to Guiness and ask them for sponsorship!!!!

Our Champion Bass Junkie put in some serious lap time on Sunday, He had some impressive sideways action in the wet which as we all know is nothing unusual.. But something i got on camera hes going to kill me for... He had this Holden Commodore right up his ass on a few laps and then the unthinkable happened it got passed him all on camera...

Sorry mate couldn’t help myself…..

That toyo tyres vp wagon is preety quick. It was at the wrx sandown day also.

Its running a meaty sounding V8 with side pipes, good suspension setup, big slotted rotors and atleast 4 pot brembos, stripped interior and semi comp tyres.

Was there a light blue coloured VL exec also there? It was quick also at sandown

    • Reading through the engine service manual their advice is do a cylinder balance test. Unplug one injector at a time and see if the idle drops a consistent RPM. You can also do this using a Consult cable which is easier. They also call for unplugging the power transistor, then with the engine off and the fuel rail unhooked from the manifold verifying that you have good fuel flow (even injection, no dripping/leaks, etc) when you twist the CAS by hand. Also verify the spark by pulling the spark plugs and allowing the plugs to ground and turning the CAS by hand. I would also start doing the sensor checks and idle valve checks in service manual. Make sure the MAF tests reasonably, the intake air regulator is sane, etc. You may have to get new spark plugs.
    • This sounds very old of me, however since buying the Tiguan shit box, my view on shit boxes have changed.
    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
