I truly feel for you guys, i get paranoid enough up here, but if it ever got like that I don't think i'd go anywhere. Even though I have the worst looking 32 in the world at the minute, it won't be like this for too long...I think it's time the people started fighting back though, but this isn't really the place to discuss such things.

Well... that sort of stuff don't happen in melbourne much but it sounds bad up there. Its been a while since i've heard of anybody I knows car been stolen. Lowest crime rate per head of population. Move down here and problems solved :D

Actually QLD has the lowest Car Theft rate per capita as shown here: http://www.neighbourhoodwatch.com.au/virtu.../car-stats.html

Hehe damn NSW is sooo bad though. Id be paranoid if I was living there.

Yeah too many dodgey people that have come here on fake passports or have overstayed their VISA and our authorities are too slack to track them down. They therefore cannot get legitimate jobs here so they have to steal to get their money.

What you refering to Newzealanders, Pomies and Yanks???

Shit! there are more of these people staying illegally in this country than all nationalities put together.

the problem is the government is too easy on people, sentencing is pathetic and the legal system is grossly angled towards revenue raising.

race a car at the lights, 2000 in fines + court costs + storage costs + loss of license + impound cars for 3 months first time

steal a car, get off first time with community service

the police are too busy doing defects at rbts to stop car theft or investigate it.

You got in one XCUZME - Costa has got to go....

If we DON'T vote for Bob Carr in the up coming elections, maybe the new G'ment will re-divert police resources from defecting our cars to catching the real criminals.

Hahaha... fair call Oz Elitesport!!!

I dont want to start a race debate on this topic but i think we all know who are behind all this dodgey behaviour. I dont feel threatened by my fellow ozzies when it comes to having my car stolen - its the other people that scare me cos they have no respect for others or others' property because of the way they've been brought up in their culture.

Bush should be starting wars with people because of their car-theiving not their nuclear weapon making - fark get ya priorities straight.

sounds like i'll have my life expectancy cut in half by buying a skyline.... being on P's, getting defects, more chance of getting stolen, more chance of low life f*cks keying the car or badging it......

not good...

My mate just told me a story about some dodgy c**t probably wanting to steal his car. What happened was, he was just driving up my street to come over. This junky ass motherfu**er stops him while he was fixing a VK Commo. Starts just talking and saying, your cars a Nissan right? It's a turbo too yeah? Yep. Goes on saying yeah man it's nice, I've got a car for sale man, it's a turbo Nissan too. Mate asks, what kind of car/engine etc. and the junky cu*t says I don't know. My mate says well what kind of turbo/engine again. Guy says, I don't know man, let me see yours so I can see if it's the same. My mate was gonna open the bonnet but thought **** that wtf is this guy up to. Asks him more and more questions. Like what model is the car, what make? the guy says, I dunno. It's not an actual car the engine and gearbox have been taken out and that's all there is, no car just that stuff. Then some other shit and he said he came from geelong and the cars up in geelong so my mate has to go up there to see it. Then he just said yeah give me a call (on a dodgy number) and I'll come up one day to see it. Farkin wanker probably wants to meet at some ****ed up place and rob my mate.

Ive recently found out an ex-good friend's, bf, is 1 of the little ****s that rips decks/parts from cars...and she tells me after peaking it at her 'if u knew how much money was involved u'd probably do it as well'...****en dumb bitch...

That brings up the supply/demand topic...every1 knows how it works...

Im not the type that will jump into fights for ppl i don't know, but im not going to have a problem putting a pole to some blokes head while he tries to jack some1 elses car anymore...

im at the stage where i wont leave my car at a car park at all unles i stay in it!

the only place it gets parked is in a secured, fenced, off street car park at my work.

as for the car jacking nothing you can do about that but get a tracker put in ur car, then there is a chance you may get it back!

but the trackers are sooooo dear.

imagine how low the insurance premiums would be if every new car sold had a tracker in it. not to mension how much car theft would drop.

but them ****ed up theives would think of a way around the trackers wouldnt they! ! !

I reakon Brody hit the nail on the head

"Supply and Demand"

Ppl steal cars/parts to make money by selling them. Eveyone wants the best price for parts, sometimes we don't ask enough questions. And the parts sold privately through forums like this have to be under suspicion.

Anyone who bought something through this or another forum EVER seen an original receipt?

    • If it dies, then bypass. The task isn't difficult. I have one running on a standard R32 FPCM. That's after nearly 20 years of it running an 040, which pull substantially more current than the Walbro. They're not the same module, but I'd hope it indicates that the R33 one should be man enough for the job. I think people kill them when putting proper sized pumps on them, not these little toy pumps we're talking about here.
    • Silicone spray won't hurt anything. And if it does, that's an opportunity to put some solid steel spherical bushings in, so you can really learn what suspension noise sounds like, If you're going to try it, just spray one bush at a time, so you can work out which one is actually noisy. My best guess is that if the noise started only since putting the coilovers in, then it is just noise being transmitted up through the top mounts of the struts, and not necessarily "new" noise from bushes. But it's almost impossible to know.
    • Are you saying the 34 is SUV height, and not that we're talking about an SUV here? (because if we're talking about an SUV, you don't fix them. You just replace them when something breaks. Not worth establishing sufficient emotional connection with an SUV to warrant doing any work on one). I wouldn't jack my car up on a short little loop of 10mm steel rod poking out through a hole in the bumper bar, front or rear end. I realise that we're probably not talking about that type of loop at the front, being the one under/behind the bar on a Skyline.... but even for that one, trying to jack up on what amounts to a thin piece of steel, designed purely for withstanding a horizontal tension force, not a vertical compressive force (and so would be prone to buckling/crushing) and, my most particular bitch about it - located RIGHT AT THE EXTREME FRONT OF THE CAR, applying a load up through the radiator support panel, etc, with almost the entire mass of the car cantilevered between there and the rear wheels? Nope. Not doing that. Not on the regular. That structure out there in front of the front crossmember is not designed to carry load in the vertical direction. Not really designed to carry any load at all, really. The chassis rail that the tow point is connected to would be fine loaded in tension, as per towing. Not intended to carry the mass of the whole car, especially loaded all on one rail, with twisting and all sorts of shitty load distribution going on. No, I will happily drive up on some pieces of wood, thanks. That can only happen on driven wheels, and they are at the other end of the car, and this problem does not exist at that end of the car. And even then, I have been known to drive up on at least 1x piece of 2x8 each side at the rear, simply to reduce the amount of jack pumping necessary to get the car up high enough for the jack stands. What really really shits me about Skylines is the lack of decent places for chassis stands at either end of the car. You'd think they'd be designed into the crossmembers.
    • I've got MCA Blues on my V36 Skyline, and while I've managed to sort out issues with scrubbing/bottoming out by raising it a smidge and increasing the damping hardness, the rear end still sounds *super* noisy when driving on anything other than the flattest surface imaginable. It sounds like a small party of flamingos are just chatting away in the back, which makes me think there are several link points in the suspension contributing to the noise. Am I hearing dried out/worn bushings? None of it sounds like metal-on-metal, it sounds more like hard rubber squeaking on metal. It's been suggested that a bit of silicon spray on each bushing might quiet them down, but I'm not sure what material the current bushings are made of (probably factory, I imagine) and whether silicon spray will degrade that material.
    • The obvious answer here is get a ND2/3 RF with the Targa top. The red is nicer, too!
