as much as i like my car, id really suggest you wait a bit until you buy a skyline.

when you are 20+ then look at buying one, but postpone it as much as you can, and save as much as you can to lessen the loan amount.

and if you wait long enough, R34 might be in your price range :D

Moding is more addictive than drugs

you get your car were u wont it

drive it 4 a couple of weeks then get flogged by a tx3 laser then the next stage comes in

it is like 2 dudes standing facing each ather then getting hand fulls of $100 notes and throwing them at each ather to se who wins

i love modding

Insured in daddies name no doubt... :(

would have to be i say, as under my name at the age on 17 they wanted $4100 for full cover

that was r33 value around 20k with a few k of mod lists along with $500 soundsystem and 1.5k rims.

now that im 18 it drop to $2400

and im due to turn 19 soon, so im pretty sure it will drop again

p.s i have clean driving record

a friend of mine bought an r33 turbo for her first car, she wrote it off a month later.

no offence but i find it a bit scary at the thought of fresh drivers with a powerful car... but meh they think they are invincible and that they will never crash etc... unfortunately statistics dont agree with them.

we aint being harsh dude, its just that we have all been there n done that already

ps. would an insurance company even insure someone without them having their licence yet? im sure once he gets his licence and tells the insurance company itll go up more cos dont they usually go on the youngest driver regardless of who the cars name is in?

Sammie, Dude not being harsh just honest we all own lines and know the costs involved especially if you start modding it. I agree with Rhianne a youngin in any big powerful car is scary but it's your choice and you've already made it just please be careful and respect your life and others. Don't ever be fooled into thinking you have something to prove when some retard tries to egg you on.

I used to race karts as well (dirt track in Wellard) and there is a BIG difference in the handling characteristics....They don't call them Whales for nothin.

Good Luck

dude check my comments they arent harsh;

I have been lucky to not smash my car yet *touch wood* i've had a few close calls. But the fact is we are all human and mistakes happen and ur more likling to drop second or kick the clutch mid turn in a skyline then u are in a shitter.

I think it really depends on the person you are. Like Rhianne said; some new drivers think they are god and that they can link 3 turns with tehre super drift skills or drop second and hole the smoke all the way up the street. and some drive normal and take there car to the track to have fun.

Im just going to add my 2cents; When people say they should ban P platers from turbos and imports, i kind of agree with it (not 100% but like 75%) the fact is my sister just had a baby and my gf is driving alot and i dont want anything to happen to them when they are driving and if some dickhead in an import thinks he is god and try to drift around every turn he takes, something is bound to happen to that person or to someone else driving

/end rant

again sorry but had to add my 2cents :(

buy a cheapy bunky thats easy to get insurance for and drop an import motor into it....... ie a ke30 corolla, the drop in say a 4age ( 1.6 twin cam twin carb), will go like stink, and will be cheap to fix when you do fark up drivin, because we all do at that age, im 30 now and i know wot im talkin about, we all think we're invinsible a t that age....... that way ya learn the road a bit beater before ya get ya beast and then can anticipate the other nuts on the road so they then dont end up writting of ya pride and joy.......

this is a great point, my friend has an ae85 coupe with 4age and i tell you i have more fun driving that car than driving my skyline.

The car is not as quick but u can give it shit and still be within the speed limit, it may not dish the chop but f**k it at the end of the day tehre are way too many cops to try and be a hero in ur car

    • Yeah good luck out there! Will be good to see a mighty GTST going harder than the GTRs

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
