  1. Hey guys, Had a quick look over my engine bay today to just make sure everything is doing okay... I noticed that the outer surface of the timing belt is excessively wearing against the tensioner bearing to the point where the edges of the belt are getting sticky. Some background information... The motor is a rb3025 and I'm running the two tensioner setup with a dayco 152 tooth belt. This motor was freshly built last year and I've only done about 3500km's since. Has anybody ever had this problem before? Does anybody know what may be causing this problem? Thanks in advance guys!
  2. Put some soapy water in a spray bottle and shake it until it bubbles up. Then spray all the joints in your piping and it'll bubble up if there is a leak or get it boost and vacuum tested by a mechanic!
  3. If your car isn't starting and your battery isn't dead there is 3 main things to look out for... 1: check for spark 2: check for fuel supply 3: check compression If you find all 3 of these things are fine, then start checking to make sure sensors are plugged in and not faulty, for eg throttle position sensor. If compression is fine but there is no fuel or spark, check CAS. If you are in Sydney and need assistance, drop me a pm and I'll give you a hand!
  4. Speak to Scotty nm35. He is a member of this forum! He supplied me adapters about a year ago. Very easy to deal with!
  5. That's f**ked up man! Not fair at all... They put millions into all these stupid inspection stations on Saturday nights and pay penalty rates... Couldn't they pay some dickhead penalty rates to get your stolen car! If there is no income to be made, most police are the most useless people in the world!
  6. Do it all yourself man! Specially if you're just gunna change your head gasket. Cost you like 300-400 for machine work and new head gasket and it's not too hard to change yourself...
  7. Could be blown manifold or turbo to manifold gasket. Makes a f**ked noise like letting air out of a balloon!
  8. I think my stock injectors were that same colour aswell!
  9. Amazing! Thanks for sharing!
  10. I'd definitely stay away from a road tune - it's too dangerous and it's obviously illegal. Any road tuner who uses virtual tuning and does not actually go through the rev range is a wankstick. Safest and most efficient option is to find a dyno operator!
  11. +1 for tune - I was chasing my tail for months on a similar issue - turns out cold start map was poo
  12. Test for boost leaks - sounds to me like once you hit 1 bar a leak is opening up!
  13. Any automotive hose shop sells the pill restrictors - ie rocket industries, Motorsport connections, earls. It was simply a drop in pill that had a small lip to hold it at the top of the hose fitting!
  14. Dude I love using rivnuts - I find damn excuses to use the god damn things! #satisfaction
  15. Lol microtech ecu has its pro's and con's just like any other ecu. I'm running one with my rb2530 setup - it's worked wonders for me and only cost $1300
  16. Fuel smell in oil, black smoke on fill boost - I'd definitely say she's running rich. Also cold starts may be terrible because it's running excessively rich when the temps are down to keep the engine running. First thing I'd recommend is to get the tune looked over by a tuner who specialises in microtech ecu's.
  17. Wild story.... I read the spent his monies thread first and then this one so i was as confused as they get!
  18. Unfortunately there is no easy way to do it. Whether you pull out the whole rail and unplug each injector without removing the manifold, you're still gunna have sore hands!
  19. I can vouch for the earls ones... They are pretty decent however they are pricey!
  20. Dude I quickly skimmed through the post and thought it was one of them auto bots! Lol good luck with the sale...
  21. I hate when this happens! You go about fixing an issue and you fix it perfectly... Nek minnit unexpected problem arises and ruins it all for you. I'd put my money on an air leak aswell! Good luck with it...
