  1. Update time!, since Farch hasn't bothered! What has happened: Wholesale suspension made up a custom front sway bar to clear the sump and that looked great. Car was taken to MRC dyno to get fixed up up and finalised for engineering. Before we had it taken to MRC, I made up an intake pipe to mount the blowby pipes and fitted up the new air filter canister. The AFM was faulty too so that was replaced with a good one too. Rattle was timing chain tensioner not getting enough oil pressure, and that was found to be the slight dint in the sump blocking the oil pick up! No harm done after getting bottom end checked and sump was fixed. This is mainly due to the engine being rested on the sump before we got it, as with most other second hand/ wrecker engines. Pays to check it over so this doesn't happen, as these seem to be very tight with the small gap to the sump bottom. Also, the electrics were finished up, such as the o2 sensors, idle control valve and VVT not having any power going to them!!(my fault there). Electric power steering pump was fitted and wow the car is a lot better for it! Mark put it on the dyno to see how it went, and 140RWKW was the result. It was low due to running in the knock map?! The ecu was found to be faulty so that got changed to a working one. One the dyno it then pulled 190RWKW (250)HP, with a stock ecu, just intake and full exhaust were the only mods. So much for 206KW at the crank! We also got to have a quick test of the car and electric power steering in the premises and wow, throttle response much! I said that it could probably do with a 3.9:1 diff ratio. Will be great once it's on the road!
  2. I have played with the VH45DE and fitted it into a 180sx, see thread. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/275110-180sx-vh45/page__p__4742872__hl__vh45de+180sx__fromsearch__1#entry4742872 Drove it briefly today after my mate had a drive as it's his car, all I can say is they are great, responsive and pretty big lol. Weight wise, they only weigh 20kg more than say an SR20DET setup (engine, ancillaries, manifold, turbo, intercooler etc). Being all alloy helps in the weight stakes, and the thing drives great, considering engine usually lugs a 1800kg plus car and is now pulling 1250kg or less, doesn't feel nose heavy. VH45, meh, next I'd like to try a VK56DE+TT in a 34GTR!!!
  3. Spotted a blue 2 door R34 GT in Windsor this arvo as we went past the 7/11. My turn to spot you lolz. I wasn't in the R.
  4. Apexi PFC won't loose it's memory as it is not stored on volatile memory. It will keep the current tune. HKS evc should be fine too. The headunit may lose the radio stations and sound preferences though. When I bought my 34 it already had a yellow top drycell fitted and I've had no problems. Ditto on the pain in the a£$ it is to get to though.
  5. I have another intake air temp that is mounted to outlet of intercooler (v spec) and that shows a fairly accurate indication of the temprature of the air going into the engine (on the MFD screen). Typically shows 6 degrees C hotter than ambient temp cruising along, and up to 10 degrees hotter when idle. I also did a test long ago with my 32GTR with a temp sensor that I slipped in under the rubber joiner into the plenum and had it in the airflow, not touching metal. Results were pretty much the same as the R34's MFD sensor. Also changing the plenum sensor to read a cooler temp (modding it) will mean that the ecu will see a different value (thinks that it's a nice cool day going off old temp values) and the engine will need a retune to get the values correct again.
  6. Wow so quick to jump to conclusions!!! Yep that was me in the white R34GTR, the others were out partying when I arrived at 4AM so I just kept driving a few hours later.
  7. We stopped on the way back to check out all the cars and take some photos lol. Also spotted your beast
  8. BP 98 I have seen 890 degs C WOT, sensor in rear dump pipe (v spec), tuned. Mate was like OMG lolz
  9. You won't put up another pic
  10. No probs, it was so funny to watch, and looked quite competitive at times It's back to daily duties, no probs
  11. With semi slicks!! I've got nothing! 360RWKW is all I ever got to in the 32
  12. Maybe better, wider tyres?!
  13. I'd rather be dry too! Nice work with the camera setups Ben, pity my car is better to drive in the wet than in the dry, ATTESSA goes silly with the tight turns on dry tarmac lol. Sloane had the right idea when he switched to RWD in the dry!, then back to AWD in the wet
  14. Edited Matt! Lol! Must be the driver..............cos the car is shite! The PA system I put in adds 120HP too.
  15. Well done with the vids! Pity there weren't many wet vids for the arvo, that was some mad stuff out there!!
  16. Lol at the police siren!!! And yes Matt, the commodore is still good!!!
  17. Big thanks to organisers too, epic day, my first Texi and so much fun. I think I went better in the rain!, as well as a couple of other AWD's! Thanks for putting the vids up Ben. The under car shot is mad! I'll have to get a copy of your stuff one day if that's okay.
  18. Nissan spare parts, $470ish.

    Adm For 109k

Sounds like a good deal then! If I saved up another 50k.....hmmmm
  21. You may be able to, but if they are push cast into the wing (doubt it), or if the hole is brittle the wing mount may be damaged... If they are screwed in, you can remove by putting 2 nuts onto the stud, tighten the nuts into each other then, undo the first nut you put on with a spanner etc. This will usually undo the stud. Good luck!
  22. Welcome to the forums! Might see you around
  23. How long is a piece of string! Depends on engine condition, supporting mods etc. I'm running 17-18psi nearly maxing out stock fuel system and Airflow meters. 300kw at the rears is what most people get give or take.
  24. Looks like pedo bear found a car!! lol Nice pics!
  25. All I can put down to sum up the get together:
