  1. Since you have a GTR you can actually BUY a PowerFC, it get it in Aus expect to be charged a lot maybe $1500 if off the shelf with warranty. From Japan, anywhere between $950 and $980 is normal off the forum traders, if its not in stock it can take time, maybe 2-4 weeks but I've heard of some taking much longer. If you have time look at sites like Greenline or keep watching ebay
  2. Hmm, an angry Japanese owner, are you sure you didn't rip it off and your covering it up Anyway, the switch doesn't stop the ariel going up it has two settings, a moderate sort of height, and really damn high. As soon as I put in my Pioneer stereo it goes up, even if I'm using USB/CD et cetera, so I'm considering checking if I can pull the fuse on the ariel without any negative side effects, or just getting used to it . For now I've gotten used to it.
  3. Looks like the "r33" compatible coupling which is the same as the R31 coupling that Bursons sold does not quite fit the R33. When you put it on, which is extremely difficult (there is hardly room to get a finger in there) it hits the fan pulley. So the only option appears to be to replace the bolts on the pulley and put some spacers to stop the viscous coupling from hitting the pulley. Oh, the fan currently sits 2-3 cm away from the radiator so it wouldn't hurt for it to get closer Also, the standard Nissan R33 fan does NOT fit the new viscous coupling, we had to buy a holden fan to fit it I've got too many threads open on this issue, refer to does an R31 clutch fan fit an R33 GTR for further discussion.
  4. I have a similar problem on gear changes and the current suspect is the driveshaft appears to have some play in it, but I'm not quite sure yet...
  5. Hey, Well good luck with this workshop, having a tuned aftermarket ECU (MINES tuned for Japanese standards), 10psi boost, I made 154.4AWKW (pretty hot day but no excuses for the R33 GTR) with a 3inch cat back exhaust, compliance cat, compliance filter (airbox). I think the dump pipes were aftermarket. However, I did high-flow cat, high flow panel filter, and got a PowerFC and tune and increased the boost to just over 14PSI, about 1bar, and I got 250RWKW. So without engine management your not doing that bad, and be warned that dyno's do vary quite a bit, other people might get more but different dyno, different temperatures on the day....
  6. GTR and traction? GTR's have good traction, not traction control I got it a little sideways on the corners, not as bad as that youtube clip except when I went too fast into the corner and lost traction. Nice to meet everyone, excellent event, I think I may have sorted the overheating issue (I think, need another track day to test it, lol). Does anyone know what happens with all the pictures and video that was been taken? There were quite a few people taking some video's of the event...
  7. I'll offer a $20 finder fee to anyone who can find me a buyer at the current price...
  8. FAQ: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Fa...rbox+oil+change Gear box oil change: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Di...Oil-t11443.html It says something about nearly 4litres in there, have a read... Regards, Gareth
  9. I have a stock intercooler, but similar mods performance wise. Drop me a PM when you get it tuned, I'm curious as to how you will go Point taken mate, I will do it *one* day, need to save up more $$$ first, and then I'll worry about going for aftermarket turbo's or high flowing them or similar. The next concern would be with different turbo's, engine rebuild Anyway, appreciate the advice - Gareth
  10. This was tuned by a trusted tuner, I didn't say "push the boost to 1 bar", he decided to put it there and I'm sure it will be fine, I have locked the boost controller so it won't accidentally get turned beyond 1 bar.

    Nos

I would definitely get a second-opinion from the police officer, it sounds incorrect. And if I were a NOS supplier, of course I'd tell you it was legal, I'd want to sell NOS
  12. I hit 80 degrees with air con on in slower traffic and 70 degrees in places with more airflow, I do have problems with the fan so I was taking it *very* easy on the car.
  13. Where is it leaking from? Do you have a 4WD car? (ie. the ATTESSA system).
  14. You might want to keep the stock exhaust for defects Definitely get an aftermarket exhaust system, headers, and consider getting a high flow cat if your going for a turbo upgrade. The better the car can breathe the better it will work. Also consider a high-flow panel filter (that ones debatable though) if your running an aftermarket airbox.
  15. Did you put the branch in while its spinning? Or did you try putting the stick on it when you started it? If it pushes the stick out from idle when it starts moving then your fine, just don't drop the stick into the fan. lol. Good luck with fixing the issue.
  16. RWKW, its not amazing power for a GTR, but I'm thoroughly impressed by the response of the car, and its only running stock turbo's in the end. I am unsure about the front pipe, its a HKS super dragger muffler, 3inch exhaust system, it *might* be turbo back but I'm not sure. The car has very few engine related mods, its all suspension and cooling mods...
  17. I've done it on 2 different cars, and I'm fine. I don't mean put your entire hand into the fan, I mean touch the end of the fan blade and start it, if it pulls away from you then its working. Of course if you're stupid enough to put your entire hand in there then you've misinterpreted my advice. Also see if its spins after you turn the engine off after its warmed up, my fan spins for a long time...
  18. Thats what I'd expect from Racepace Thanks, was just curious about the tune. Don't really understand what the AFR should / should not be.
  19. Also be sure to check your radiator fan for issues, I think thats the source of my overheating issue. One way to check is get a friend to start the car when its pretty warm. Hold the fan gently, with a finger or similar, do not misinterpret this post to mean shove your hand straight into the fan and see what happens. If the fan try's to turn with some force then its working. If its like mine you can hold it with one finger and even after you let it go it takes a while to start spinning again. Oh, and if you injure yourself by doing this I take no responsibility whatsoever .
  20. Hey, I got my R33 GTR tuned recently, I went from a Japanese Mines ECU to a PowerFC + adjustable cam gears and the boost was upped to about 1 bar. Stock turbo's, aftermarket radiator, high flow cat, 3inch turbo-back exhaust (HKS Super dragger), stock airbox with highflow panel filter and hot weather (30degrees plus unless the workshop had air conditioning ). I believe those are the only performance related mods my car has. So is this a good tune? I was thoroughly impressed with the power and the response. Regards, Gareth
  21. I had a similar experience, I had 156.6 AWKW on the Re Customs dyno on an R33 GTR (it was hot weather though), I got a high-flow cat, high-flow panel filter, adjustable cam gears, PowerFC and tune and 250 RWKW (not all wheel, and different workshop). If you really want power look at spending the money, but its not cheap if you want a quality tune
  22. I paid roughly $1100 for PowerFC tune + cam gears ($250) + tuning of EBC (minor). Expensive tune but great results, I did know another company that could do it cheaper but I decided pay the extra $$$ for the quality tuning
  23. Yes it was yesterday, yes I had Chris in the car with me, he was driving, he was doing a quick "couple of slow laps", which somehow turned into 4 laps and seemed pretty damn fast to me, I think he liked the car. Oh, I compared the R33 fan coupling and the R31 it looks identical to me...
  24. Hey, Excellent work, should be in the thread about how to use FAST but I can't remember where it is Thanks for that, it could come in handy
