  1. Early Audi Q7 2006-2008 3t+ tow capacity. 3.0 turbo diesel. Will tow your Silvia in style without breaking a sweat. Can be had in reasonable condition for $10-15K. If you want to be baller get a 4.2 twin turbo diesel version.
  2. Nice list, manual swap is definitely a good idea. I have a set of those exact wheels myself, they are Rays Volk f-zero winning from around the mid 1990's. As far as what not to do, that depends on the end goal. If wanting more power than 350rwkw (475hp) then a built forged engine is required. With the ecu choice, if you where in Aus the haltech would be it as they have so much support here and the fuel tech not so much. In the US I'd assume the ft is well supported so it probably comes down to which ecu has the most features and fits with your plans for the car.
  3. Welcome, yep they're the holy grail of R33 headlights. Anything else done to the car? We can see the gtr style bar, fmic, carbon bonnet and said headlights. Future plans?
  4. Passenger in the first pic is lovin it. Car looks the goods.
  5. Was coming here to say that Duncan's right and power fc is still the pinnacle of jap ECUs, lol but f**k me that danger to manifold warning on the IC7 takes the cake. Haltech = new winner😉
  6. Far out, that was some shit luck with the dual positive block ventilation system but wow what an epic effort to get it all re done and back together within the timeframe. Coming away with the win must have been mighty satisfying. Congratulations man, well deserved, this thing has come a long long way. Definitely a serious machine and contender. Keep kicking those goals 👍
  7. I'm happy to purchase a fan blade if there's one surplus. Mine has started to get little stress cracks and could do with replacement. Just saying😉
  8. Solid progress, car looks pretty rapid 👍
  9. Not sure, I don't encounter traffic but I don't think so. It wouldn't really worry me getting to 90-91. If it got to 95+ I'd be getting concerned. Shh🤪
  10. I suppose when you've been Gregging it so hard for so long you learn how to do things properly. That would've been satisfying showing the cop the engineering plate 👍 I just have a garage full of stock parts to put back on if I ever get reemed hard by highway patrol. Varex is handy in not drawing attention and I've gone through a couple of booze buses without issue to date🤞
  11. I think dose needs the gtr one to handle the extra rpm. Oh well, just an extra $300..
  12. Things have been a lot better for him since he went V8. Hopefully all the bad juju is behind him and left with that bastard RB, lol.
  13. Lol, c'mon man. It's only a fan clutch. You've got a long way to go catching up to Greg. In other news, checked coolant level this morning. Took another litre and a bit. Went for test drive 2.0. Temp is a rock solid 88° now as indicated by the Android gauges. Gave her a quick wash/hose down for Christmas. Scrubbed up alright for an old girl. After driving again and checking the peak boost levels on the boost gauge, it appears to be down by a bit over 1 psi. I do remember when removing the turbo, the actuator looked a little bent and was almost touching the outlet. I had filed down one of the bolts in the past for clearance. When the turbo came back the actuator looked perfect. I think Tao must have noticed it and straightened it up and this is possibly the difference in boost. Not sure if I'll tweak the boost control myself or take it back to Trent for a proper check and tweak.
  14. Yep and you know it. About to go for round 2.
  15. Just came back from test drive. Can confirm does good skids, spins em off the throttle in 3rd. Coolant temp was fluctuating a bit and running 5 degrees above normal. Probably some air still working it's way out of the system. Will check coolant level tomorrow and keep an eye on temp. Happy to have a functioning boat again.
  16. I see, that would make me look for alternatives too. 2nd hand?
  17. Went well this morning. Home And finished product. Oem, it's stock standard officer. All back together, filled with fresh nulon coolant. Bleeding not required thanks to the ling long swirl pot/breather. Managed to fire her up and check for leaks. Thankfully there where none. Engine sounds happy and the horrible turbo whine is gone. Success, sadly there was no time for a drive. Off to do family stuff with the wife and kids. Hopefully take it out for a thrash/test drive later tonight.
  18. Isn't the consensus with these, oem only. Everything else is shit seems to ring a bell.
  19. Turbo is back. New turbine and fresh bearing pack. Thanks to Tao from @hypergearfor getting it done and back to me in 3 business days. Awesome service. Overnight parts from goodstate via ebay plus. Have used them guys a few times for genuine Nissan bits and they always seem to have stock and ship fast. Anyway, had a bit of an oil leak from an aftermarket exhaust side rocker cover gasket. Changed both with genuine + fresh half moons with a dab of threebond while I was there. Also did a bit of degreasing to clean up the leaky mess. Will hopefully fit turbo tomorrow morning and then boost off into the sunset. Antilag switch will most likely see the inside of my garbage bin.
  20. As above, good choices for intended target power but inevitably like most skyline owners you will want more in the future. I would go for 1000cc injectors for some future proofing in case you want to run E85 and hit the 350+rwkw range. Definitely go the ball bearing option, will make it so much nicer with that turbo. Alternatively, you could just highflow the stock turbo with bb option. Will still make your power target on p98 and capable of around 325rwkw on E85, be a little more responsive. If your car doesn't already have a decent clutch in it, you'll need to get something like an npc or exedy to handle the power increase.
  21. Make that 2 others, mine is also a non ABS s2 12/96 build. For sale, 1 of only 3 known to exist (very rare) 69k firm. I know what I've got.
  22. Or 007 live and let die. Lol
  23. Spark plugs removed and inspected, all tips present. Compression test done and still have between 150-160psi across all pots on a cold engine. Pretty happy with that. Was panicking at one stage when testing cylinder 5 and it showed 90psi, retested and got the same. Was already calculating cost of rebuild and who to go to but after removing and refitting the gauge it read 150psi consistently. Phew, crisis avoided. Gauge tube mustn't have seated properly. Unless hypergear finds bits of motor inside the turbo then I'm confident the engine is still healthy and will put everything back together.
  24. Anyway turbo was dropped off earlier. Tao had a quick look, bearings are still good and he believes either something went through the engine, like a spark plug tip or some sort of debris. I'm just hoping it's not a bit of piston like in dosepipes. Going to check the plugs and do a comp test when I get a chance. The other theory is excessive heat produced due to tiny 21u exhaust housing and erm anti lag. I'll know more once it's fully stripped. He's trying to convince me to moving to a op6 housing with bb core. At this point I'm still wanting to stay with what I had as I couldn't be bothered with redoing my water lines, oil return and retuning again but I may change my mind.
