  1. Did any fluid get onto the pads? If so you might need to replace them.
  2. Did you see Satanic's Thread? Not a 30, but from that pix at the bottom of the page you can probably guess what the plate looked like before it died at 330kw. Also the one made up to replace it.
  3. The wheel mounting face on the hub has run out, so i'm thinking i'll pull it out and get it touched up by a machine shop. It looks like the bearing is pressed onto the hub, but is it also pressed into the knuckle? Just wondering how difficult it will be and if i should try this one myself...
  4. When you say "what happened" you're talking about objective reality. Due to that fact that we have imperfect senses and imperfect minds to interpret the material provided by those senses, as human's we CANT know that reality. The only reality we know is the observer's reality - ie subjective reality. IMO you have an overly optimistic confidence in the ability of the human mind. Have you not had someone remember a past event differently to you? Schopenhauer discusses this objective/subjective stuff in detail. For me gaining a better understanding the nature of reality has made it a lot easier to understand the world. WRT holding a forum to similar standards to a court, i cant see that would be possible, as hundreds of years of process and precedent have refined court processes, and those who participate have spent many years full time learning those rules etc. You cant match that depth on a web forum.
  5. I think this is a little naive - "the truth" is only established to any reasonable extent in a court. People only have access to their own, highly subjective reality. Lets call that "opinion", and you can see where i'm heading with this. Though it would be great to be able to speak openly, it would take PranK to a new world of pain. Perhaps posting of Fair Trading or other court rulings would be possible on a post vetted forum?
  6. IIRC R32 GTR = 297 x 32 R33 GTST = 297 x 30 Some of the 32 GTR upgrade kits used 328 x 30 rotors with the sumitomo calipers, so running the thinner rotor shouldn't be a problem if they have the same offset. The GTR rotors would work better at the track.
  7. Also the further you lower it the more you stuff up the alignment. You need to compensate by adding adjustable bushes or arms throughout the suspension so you can get it back to something sensible. Also as stated; lowered springs + standard shocks = FAIL
  8. There was a thread a while back about DBA4000s not being up to track work, but IIRC there were no such problems with the 5000s. The problem with the 4000s appears to be a design flaw with the slotting, and cracking common on the radial slot at the edge of the rotor. For the 5000s the "slotted" design shown HERE appears sensible. Avoid the cross-drilled "XS".
  9. Listen to this man - the other suggestions are far more than what's required. Might be worth a dyno run to check that you're already around the 175-200 mark and that mixtures are good and there's no ping. Ie check everything's in good working order before making any changes, and fix anything that's broken. Then do oil change and filter, air filter, fuel filter and check or change the plugs.
  10. +1 for mounting issue. I paid an extra $200 for sard instead of bosch for my GTR, so i could retain the nicely engineered mount. I still cant hear the pump. I think gtst pumps are mounted differently tho. Make sure all attaching parts are cushioned. Edit: if priming's loud then the pickup is a problem. Do you notice the noise more when the tank is low?
  11. Try coventry fasteners; http://www.covfast.com.au/coventry/divisio...ntry_fasteners/
  12. It looks like plenty of places have the R33/34 kit (and a couple of places try to sell the same kit as an R32/33/34 kit = FAIL). Anyone know where i can get the 32 specific kit?
  13. Do a search - there's been a couple of good threads on this.
  14. 42. Osman WOE784 Nissan Skyline GTR Straight 6 No Turbo 141.4 kW 189.6 HP The "No" refers to no NOS, the "turbo" means it is running a turbo - notice some others have N/A in this field.
  15. +1 - the right way is to get the right rims Changing the spring stiffness just means it wont hit as often, ie you have to hit a bigger pothole/dip whatever to make it touch. Its not a fix. Its illegal, with good reason, to have the rim/tyre touch any part of the car, other than the mounting of course. You might be able to do something with spacers but i don't know if they're legal.
  16. Re: problems with ethanol and fuel lines, the story i heard is that it cleans up your fuel system so its worth doing an extra filter change after you've run it for a while. Re: economy, isnt stochiometric for E85 close to 10? so you'd expect economy to be about 270km from a tank instead of 400 if you're using closed loop control.
  17. Re: the increase in low down power, are you talking about how the car feels when you drive it, or the graph shape? Why did you change turbos?
  18. Maybe i'm paranoid, but check that any pillow ball/rose joint stuff is street legal. My guess is that without the bush the ability to absorb shock loading is significantly reduced. You can get adjustable replacement bushes (but there's not much adjustment). Whiteline etc
  19. I have the same problem.. as yet unresolved. Not bad on the street but its a jackhammer on the track. Make sure the mating surfaces between the rotor and the hub are completely clean - no rust or other gunk at all. Even a tiny spec here will cause shudder. I cant see any point in you changing the rotors again - BTDT and it didnt help me.
  20. IIRC the stock injectors peak out at about 280kw with a safe tune... and maybe AFMs and fuel pump at about the same level??
  21. http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/au/en/sm/WF...315-447371.html (NC6220) Unfortunately its discontinued as well. The doco has the serial port labeled "vga" port, but you can see from the pin count its not.
  22. I had to take the steering arm off mine, and use a long (maybe 500mm) breaker bar. If you just pop the tie rod end out then there will be no difference to the alignment when it goes back in.
  23. 12kgs - WTF? I thought stock was 10kgs. I got a 5.5kg one (This one IIRC), but there were also 4.5kg ones.
  24. But are they for sale? I've got first dibs 'cause its my thread...back off bitches Shouldnt be a problem, just dont use anything too thick so they can crumple/flex if required. BTW are they U shaped - ie they dont have a top, which is instead supplied by the wheel guard?
  25. Egad! That's nasty. Yep - I'm in for a group buy 100%. Otherwise i'll just get some gal iron and tinsnips. It doesnt need to be too pretty down there. BTW - John from Unique Autos "We are in final stage of big Nismo style brake air deflectors" for R32 GTRs (the gtst ones have been available for ages) - expects to have something ready in about a month. Maybe a perfect compliment for these. Easier that trying to fit ducting around the wheel.
