  1. ask piggaz he went from a-lsd to mechanical in his r33, I know the diff and half shafts needed to be changed but not sure what else had to be done But if the plan is to keep the a-lsd in place, just replace the crown wheel and pinions and enjoy your new shorter ratios
  2. I haven't had mine out for long enough lately to know, but will pay a bit more attention next time
  3. The non vspec 34 diff has the same ratio as the vspec, it just doesn't have the a-lsd in it

Friday I fitted the power steering hose and the seals for the speedo drive, but for the awd piston in the back of the box there is no seal, So I pulled it out and ran a bead of sealant around it and put it back in I then filled the fluids back up and started the car to bleed the power steering and left it up on the stands. Im going away for a week so will leave it up there and check for any signs of leaks when I get home, it should all be good and I can move onto other things

  9. The answer is easy! get a timing light and do it properly, any other way is just stupid and won't be accurate at all
  10. How do you know what the timing was before and after you moved it though?

  14. thanks mate, unfortunately at the moment it's little job that must be done before I can get back into the bigger jobs

The parts I need to fix the oil leaks have finally arrived and I can start moving forward with the project again In there is the speedo drive o-ring and seal and also a new power steering hose, will be fitting them as soon as I get some time (hopefully this week) and get the car back on the ground to get that exhaust sorted out
  16. after his engine let go, I bought his turbos off him and fitted them to my r32 with standard cams and made the same power as him
  17. Yeah one of the guys went from a type b to the type r and show massive gains in response, but the only reason he went to the the type r was that he couldn't find a set of stock r34 cams at the time
  18. i used to work for one of the tuners in Sydney, but when I say we, I mean me and a few people i know (also on here) who have played with different sized cams in Gtr engines (not all are still 2.6) and have proven that a bigger duration cam will have a negative effect on response
  19. cmn gears make a huge difference and are worth every cent, we've done testing on multiple engines and bigger duration cams move the curve right (less response) they also lower the compression and make the car worse down low as well
  20. The fact they don't give response at all and are a waste of money

For what you want, -7s or 9s and open dumps with cam gears and a tune will be perfect, Cam gears are worth every cent (even with the factory cams) My new exhaust is being fitted and the tune touched up soon which will basically make it what your car will be and you're welcome to take it for a drive to make sure it's what you want
  22. The brake light is actually n/s/r which is Near Side Rear or passenger side When I bought my my00 wrx up from Victoria it had a full exhaust and a boost gauge and the blue slip place passed it. whats a check off valve? (I'm assuming it's a blow of valve), if so I have one you can borrow
