  1. anyone going to villi's this friday 20th ?
  2. Nothing to add to this
  3. you've got your answer - so Ive just got to add this I love these threads. You love the noise - and put the BOV on the car to be a wanker. Its scientifically proven that if you're a wanker, the first thing you do when you buy a Skyline is install a vent to atmosphere blow off valve, to advertise the fact that you are indeed, a wanker. Do you even know how the Nissan air intake system works? There is an AFM that measures the air entering the engine. the Stock BOV recirculates FOR A REASON. When your duck whistle, twisty whooshy twirly, dick pulling, sparkly, spinny, shiny, noisy, fuleh sic, wank off valve opens, it dumps air that the engine has measured and allocated fuel for. When only half the air gets into the cylinder because the air it measured is at the street corner where you sped up erratically and backed off because you saw some women on the corner, thinking that when they heard your BOV they'd get naked and run and dive into your car, the engine is now overfueled and under oxygenated, and stalls, backfires, and carries on. You know why? Because you've created a MASSIVE AIRLEAK on a system that will not run with airleaks. Do you like that fact that you will foul your plugs constantly? Do you also like attracting the cops attention? Do you like the risk of being defected and having to pay money for a BOV that didn't need to be There? Do you like the fact that you are just making skylines more hated? (And don't worry, its almost a guarantee that you'll drive through the main street of town making it release "because you like the wank off sound") Do you like it how women love the sound, get naked and dive into your car as you drive past? Do you think SAU will be happy about another "My car is running rough, I only installed a duck whistle, twisty whooshy twirly, dick pulling, sparkly fuleh sic wank off valve" thread love it; no offense meant
  4. Vetool smokes plenty of pole prior to each race.... Button to win, and most likely the championship. Webber to outrace the 'Tool and place well, once he makes up the positions he loses off the line Masa to tangle tyres and punt himself out of the race The old boy Shumi looks like he'll have a good season. McLaren and Mercedes look like they've benefited the most from the blown diffusers being changed. Can RBR find some pace?
  5. Rbr isn't far off the McLaren pace, a little more Downforce to aid grip and it'll be an awesome season. Button deserved the win, was the best driver and has a great car.
  6. Safety car is going to completely change this race! Edit - so is the tow truck! Big lock up mid pack behind it....
  7. wow; well done!! query - how many kms have you done so far on the running-in?
  8. Well then stop boosting it past a couple of psi (in my opinion undo the wastegate spring again). Sure, load up the engine but without boost. Detonation is Not your friend. Hitting 16psi isn't the right way about it.
  9. At least now you know its nothing f*Ing up. Fit the gasket and get it tuned, even if its a low boost quick tune somewhere prior to getting it in to your trusted tuner. Bloody important mate, don't just 'wait', get a basic tune done, otherwise you run the risk of ..... Well, you know.
  10. R32 GTsT disc and caliper combo is a basic upgrade. 1-pot brakes to 2-pot, discs have larger diameter. You'll need to cut away the metal dust shield around the inside of the dsc rotor to make them fit. Bolt on modification.
  11. Please PM me? I might come along with my two boys.
  12. Try taping your toes individually, like footballers and some cricketers tape their fingers..... Just wrap around each toe a couple of times to create a 'fake' surface area. Might help; worth a go.
  13. brake lines finally fixed. With big 324mm rotors and dogbones, with bilsteins & camber arms, the line fouled on full lock against the swaybar. Used a 90deg fitting at the R32 caliper so its all perfect now. Brakes feel as meaty as ever! Will fit new qfm pads & shim kit after midyear exams I guess, to do away with the front rhs squeal. End of year will do a hiboost tune & see what the forged motor can do
  14. With my Uni workload unfortuantely my gymwork has taken a backseat. Week prior to Uni went 6x, 1st week Uni 3x, this week 0 but will make sure I get in wed/fri morning. Just not sleeping, ie a few hrs a night, like normal. *sigh Its just no where near enough to be 'on-song' for a weights session early the next morning then a day & evening of study. Knees are sore with all the walking Ive got to do around (2) campus plus lugging the backpack full of heavy textbooks, which really puts a strain on my kneejoints, and during the middle of the night all I can think of is Anatomy & Physiology questions and answers.... Shut Up Brain!
  15. Thank you dale! Yes its a huge challenge - Im not exactly a 'sciency' type but I'll be trying to put in my best efforts. Very tiring, but Im enjoying applying myself to the task Ive set for myself; we'll see where it goes. Ive got my goal, a vision, and need to work at the little weekly steps in getting there. I noticed the lines that were made up (ADR approved) uses a metal sleeve instead of the rubber sleeve. On full lock over a speedbump or spoondrain it must be knocking against the swaybar link bracket, or thereabouts. Looks like I'll have a pair of custom banjo-type lines made up end of this week, to lose that 1.5inches that protudes out of the caliper with screw-in type lines. Must be a space/fitment issue due to the caliper brackets and 322mm discs I run; obviously puts everything out of kilter compared to the stock setup.
  16. lol, must be!! I can confirm he is in fact 2m tall. awesome physique for the height - thats what you get by being in the SAS; got a family friend in the SAS and his body was transformed on a massive scale over the years of intense training. on a personal note, my great-great-grandfather was awarded a Distinguished Conduct Medal for 'distinguished services under fire or under conditions equivalent to service in actual combat with the enemy'. He refused to carry a weapon and was therefore assigned stretcher duties. In the heat of battle he (mistakenly) picked up an injured enemy soldier, realized his mistake when the soldier protested, turned around and rushed him to the enemy camp...... a very inspiring story to my family
  17. wow. loads of hours gone into Uni this week. 7x lectures to write out into revision note books takes a long time! throw in practicals/tutorials/workshop assignments & Ive got it cut out for me !!! doing well though, and importantly Im enjoying it. bloody brake line. had front braided lines made up Dec last year, today found front left has split where it screws into the caliper. the line is like 40cm long - how long should it be? I reckon it is 2inches too long. its obviously too long as it has bent itself into a right angle at the caliper fixture for some reason, and the metal fitting (joining line to banjo) has rubbed on the compressed line. not happy - dont really have the time to waste on it.
  18. lol @ 7", hes my height, 6ft8" or in laymans terms 'door-height'. awesome build - definately a machine.
  19. Hit the gym after Uni last night, was so busy I put aside my plans for back work and got stuck into the legs again, as no one was using any of the leg machines. Knees are pretty rooted today! Think it was the leg press, upped the weight but it was the end of my session & just had no strength left in them. Smashed them good on the extensions tho Did a heap of deadlifts, form was good but my lower back is pretty sore - had a sore back since October so I guess its time to have a few Chiro sessions. No gym today, give it a rest 'till tomorrow before Uni. Happy with how well Im sticking to my protein & salad/veg diet, no cheating (yet!)
  20. All I'll say is this - Money isnt everything. You can get by with very little. Q: Ash, do you enjoy your job? If not, are you going to do something about it? Never forget you simply must have a healthy balance between "life" and "work" Anyway, good luck with the year ahead. Make it a good one - for YOU.
  21. All good advice, thanks.
  22. awesome feeling doing freeweight angled leg press. Smashed legs today again, weights gave gone up for hamstring curls and leg extension. Doing the leg press in the Panatta rack is the hardest thing I've done at the gym; takes all my effort to push it up (knees start at my chest) and knock out some good sets, loving it! Best thing is I haven't had patella-tendon soreness afterwards whereas they'd be sore after cable leg press. Finding it hard to end my sessions - just want to keep on going, energzer bunnylike. Body is starting to respond to my 5x 90min workouts. Give me a few years, and........
  23. yeah GTST - thats my diet currently. No cereals tho. meat + salad + balsamic vinegar = win. meat + broc/caul/carrot + S/P = win, too ! throw in tuna cans & pre/post protein shakes, plus a fruit smoothie a few times a week & thats it for me. Might have a 6" sub 1x a week at Uni if required, see how I go. But real keen to cut out carbs (besides some Dextrose in the shakes). Just got to make sure I have enough energy for workouts + study, so I'll balance it over the next month or so. Today I got into the freeweight leg press and did some sets. Only 30kg lol (nothing on the guys who smash out +400kg at my gym), but that was VERY hard getting it up of the safety bars 1) due to the angles with my very long legs, its hard to fit in the machine, and 2) no knees really hampers how much you can initially push off with. think of it as doing a cable lat pulldown without the pulley for the cable to go over.....
