  1. Something in melb has gone bang. not sure what or why. its somewhere near the pier / docks areas we can see lots of smoke and thats about it hope its nothing bad and no one is hurt
  2. i dont think AFR has anything to do with boost at all its purely engine load and exhaust temps saying 11.5AFR at 10psi means nothing what if he using a stocker turbo? what if he using a gt42? they both flow completely different amounts of airflow at 10psi
  3. found the bugger http://paulr33.skylinesaustralia.com/sauvic/zap.gif
  4. he is around just doesnt answer as much (at least i think anyway) given majority of the questions in here have been answered before and a quick search would give u the better answers in the past
  5. u need to book your own for wakefield theres a form to fill out and fax in hurry up and do it btw when am i copying your tune ?
  6. i drive my skyline every day to work and back it would shit me to tears to drive any other car i work my ass off for my car and i love driving it to bits, so it would suck to settle for anything less such as a crap econo box daily driver
  7. the pfc faq in my sig tells you how to use a map sensor and the harness to just get the boost reading on the hand controller. once it has the reading the tables will work. so yes u can go access to those tables without the complete boost kit. the sensor is a denso map sensor (part no# in the faq) and the harness is another $20 part from any apexi supplier. the official apexi sensor is about $180 inj vs air temp vs boost inj vs water temp vs boost boost vs ign sf
  8. check for exhaust restrictions, once the gate opens it should be stable so its probably not the controllers fault, the tuner could do some testing to test and prove that theory, other than "its the controllers fault". try a run with the exhaust dropped off so its just dump then to atmo see if spikes then, it may reveal a different story as there is no backpressure restriction
  9. if its still got the stock turbo the owner would be out of their mind to get a remap, with an safc and larger injectors on the stock turbo. it would make more sense that they are stock injectors, on the stock turbo
  10. if youve got a stock ecu, chances are the are stock injectors there would be little to no reason why someone would change injectors on a stock turbo'd car also, so it could be a remap with larger injectors, but there would be no point
  11. No flash please
  12. it has mixed results i think i have an airlock in the system so it doesnt completely lock properly havent tried it recently but with the pump on, the diff is forced to full pressure
  13. my understanding with auto tune is youll need a wideband sensor and then you still need to ignition timing and check it on the dyno so its not like you will just negate the $500 odd tune cost only some of it
  14. logic assumption... it was at least double the price to buy and tune vs the powerfc? or 66% more ?

    The New Car

gsr racing yo got gate ?
  16. whats to not like about it? you dial in the boost and its done i brought a hks evcIII long before i knew anything about the FC and if i had the choice again i would have done the FC kit for sure you also get to use boost in all the correction tables as well as have boost under MONITOR on the hand controller which is very handy.
  17. but why would u do that? why not just run the highest setting you can do safely all the time and use your foot to control how the car drives. boost doesn't use fuel, you pushing the accelerator pedal does and if you plan on running that little extra 2 or 3 psi over your safe level then its likely to go bang or just dial in more heat as the compressor is probably out of effiency
  18. boost should be a set and forget device theres no need to constantly fiddle and change crap to change profiles takes about 3 seconds MAIN MENU, SETTING, BOOST, CHOOSE PROFILE, PRESS PREV thats it. theres no need to do that on a day to day basis. run the most boost you can safely on your engine and components. boost controllers are often given the complicated "badboy" concept but they aren't all the do is trick the wastegate in its simplest of form. get on with driving the car, it doesnt have to be this difficult
  19. and how much of that drops when you rip the clutch out and let the drivetrain have it i wonder ?
  20. also a good follow up read up would be: How do I hook up the optional Boost Controller kit? How do I configure the Optional Boost Controller Kit?
  21. as per: http://paulr33.skylinesaustralia.com/docs/...powerfc-faq.htm Considerations before use 27. How does the AVC-R compare to the PowerFC boost controller kit?
  22. in: http://paulr33.skylinesaustralia.com/docs/...powerfc-faq.htm section: 32. Can I drive around without it being tuned for a few days? Months? ? You can drive the car around as you would normally but you should take care not to put stress on the engine. Basically don't fang around in it, as you could be running unsafe A/Fs etc and just causing more damaged. Best to get it tuned. Make sure you watch the knock levels if you do this to make sure there isn't excess detonation.
