  2. hey mate, noticed you are selling the rb25 turbo do you happen to also have the "elbow pipe" that bolts onto the compressor outlet of the turbo? its a pipe about 30cm long.. cheers, Warren
  3. anyone want to shed some light on who "naka" is? (for those of us out of the loop)
  4. ok, coming from sydney to brisbane is sort of like coming from melbourne to brisbane (which i have just done) all i can say is that the closest area to the kind of lifestyle you get in sydney is New Farm, which is where i am. its a great place. good luck with the move, Warren
  5. saw an mx-5 this morning in my street... new-ish looking model (not really sure how to descriminate the models apart) had a well-hidden FMIC and an SE badge on the back i certainly wasn't thinking it would be slow
  6. hiow do you know there's a leak there? or are you just searching for possible causes and this one came up as likely?
  7. woah... with that intensity at such a low pressure and high output, i'd say definately check for follow-through
  8. the 206kW isn't a law, its more of an unspoken agreement... its like in golf, how you don't walk on someone's line on the green.. there's no law, its respect for the othere players game cf respecting other car companies overall car quality rather than just their power output And on the topic, i have an R33 series 2 turbo with 45v2 on the side, and it definately has the nylon compressor wheel...
  9. DEFINATELY have them charged with assault.. the grill is the least of their worries after reading that...
  10. i thought the justjap ones were xforce? where did i read that?
  11. with the r33 turbo, do you have the "elbow pipe" that bolts onto the compressor outlet? its a pipe about 30cm long... cheers, Warren
  12. the skyline is a 2 door coupe, regardless of what the initial car was.. the commodore is a 4 door boat which has been designed for passenger comfort and room in the cabin - and it deliveres on these well, thus why its not a sports car, rather a beefed up family car that middle-aged businessmen like to think are sports cars to justify them having to have a family car for the sake of their family and nagging wife... and with that i leave this thread forever, as i see no further reason to argue this point - i will simply never give any of my hard earned cash to holden. ever.
  13. surely they wouldn't make it to prototype stage unless the engine and driveline was at least chosen they've still go to do millions of kms optimising it and that's going to take ages in itself they are probably just keepign it under wraps so the suspense is even greater, thus making an even bigger splash with the release
  14. my xforce one has a sticker on the bottom saying it has been checked and certified, but there's no stamp on the biscuit material you can't legally sell a catalytic converter if its not a catalytic converter.. companies would be up for millions in false advertising and civil lawsuits
  15. sports car, in my opinion, is a car with superior performance in terms of looks, handling, acceleration, braking Now the SS, again in my opinion, fails on the handling and looks department. i have no idea about its braking qualities straight line performace isn't everything.. after all, we all don't own VLT's do we? modified, they are much faster than skylines yet they are a piece of shit.. its not a sports car, its a family car in some outfits, it MAY constitute a performace car but performance is not equal to sports...
  16. or simply water from on the road that is getting flung back by the cars in front of you...
  17. cheers, will check the fluid and pad level tomorrow, and then go from there Waz
  18. just remembr that you are trusting these car stands/jacks with you life.. how much would you pay to protect that? i personally use 2 jacks and a car stand on a side, and i never jack up both sides at a time Waz
  19. really? how exactly do worn breakes cause the handbrake sensor to come on?
  20. i have just bought one of the 3" stainless steel jobbies from just jap for $199 will let you know how it goes when it gets fitted tomorrow...
  21. This is for an R32 GTSt... Wondering where i can locate the handbrake sensor? When i turn corners sharply the light on the dash comes on, and even when i accelerate fast sometimes.. Only recently has begun happening, so i think the sensor may have come loose or might need a clean.. just need to locate the barstard! cheers, Warren
  22. SS looks ok, but the base model looks terrible... but i didn't expect too much from holden its still got nothing on the BA/380, which it obviously needs to outgun to take back the share of the market it had with the VT.. those times are well behind them and ain't coming back with this car Its funny how they always show pics of the SS model first, with the even uglier bae model later. In real life, and up close, they will still look huge and boat-like They are obviously designed to carry a family, but putting in a V8/spoiler/front bar doesn't magically transform it into a sports car I think the pics are better than they will look in real like Rating: one star
  23. have seen heaps in both melb and birsbane in that colour...
  24. you could mount it horizontal (if it would fit) with the intake side facing down that way avoiding most of the water and bugs etc without blocking hte radiator but the question is still.. is it better than a pod? or even more so, is it better than a high-flow filter in the stock airbox? this isn't going to give any more than an extra 0.1 kW so if that's the reason you are ding it then you're probably barking up the wrong tree..
  25. thanks to all for your help repco/supercheap etc don't have gear knobs for automatic cars, and without autobarn in proximity, i ended up going the ebay route for my automatic gear knob at least i know where they all are for next time! cheers, Warren
