  1. looks like an awesome night! wish i could have made it to this one oh well.. next time i suppose poeple who have their dyno figures above should also post their mods so we at least know how they correalte as for this "motec correction" thing.. does this mean the dyno was reading high or low? Warren
  2. you are talking one in a million there FATGTS-R...
  3. the skyline gods have spoken...
  4. remember an rb25 running 14psi flows more air than an rb20 at 14psi ...so don't confuse the reliability of a turbo on an rb25 to that when its on an rb20... on an rb20, the rb25 turbo is good for approximately up to 14-15psi Warren
  5. when i installed my aftermarket gauge, i noticed that, yes it was easier to read as its large and in psi (rather than small and in mmHg) but it responds exactly as the stock one does, and shows no difference in its reading moral of the story: your stock gauge is FINE.
  6. does anyone find it odd that someone is trying to compare a BRAND NEW car to one that is 15 years old? if you were goign to do a review of it then that's cool... but comparing it to an R33 is stupid. this review gets 2 thumbs down. sorry.
  7. how long are you hitting full boost for on a cold night? if its a drive home from work, probably never, maybe 5secs maximum over the course of a 15min trip if you are worried, then don't sit at full boost for long. if you want to give it some stick, then drive mroe sedately afterwards as someone already said, there's no program in the ECU that makes the turbo shit itself at 14psi.. its just one of many risk factors for the turbo going bye-bye
  8. what paul is trying to say is that the difference between the "best" 3" cat and the "worst" 3" cat is going to be about 2rwkw on the dyno so as long as its 3" in internal diameter, and it has cat material in it, then don't worrhy about what you are getting Warren
  9. R32 --> R33 of course you are downgrading with maybe the exception of going from an R32 GTS to R33 GTR
  10. in answer to your questions in a simplified form... will i need a fuel pump? yes how high can i raise the boost (safely)? 12-14psi is ok with that turbo on an rb20 what other parts will i need? a boost controller. the fact that you already have full exhaust / FMIC is great and this is the enxt logical step of modification good luck, Warren.
  11. you don't like it? i think its cool.. how many people i know that have gone to take off in reverse that almost ended in disaster!
  12. its pretty normal i think happens when you use anything that takes a lot of power.. like the power windows for example (try holding the window switch up when the window is already up and you will see)
  13. congrats on the purchase! let us know how it goes from power figures to how it feels to drive once tuned
  14. haha i usually just call them 'the boss' as its obvious that all wants have to go through them first
  15. no cam gears GTST? i recommend them...
  16. awesome... that's what i want to hear i think that might be the end of the road for a while then (after the ECU upgrade) after that, i might focus on the cosmetics a bit more as the power is quite nice for me atm...
  17. i remember reading its not the same for R33's as R32's not sure why or how, but you should do some more research as it might be as good as having the thing disconnected in your current setup
  18. found my radiator lid still looking for a cas
  19. why are you upgrading injectors/fuel pump/regulator? this is not going to give any extra power... have you had it on the dyno before?
  20. yeah i wanted to hold off on the pump due to $$ issues, but when they called me saying the AFRs were 13:1 i said go for it.. but well we all know what the next step is going to be i might have to wait for the next QLD visit by Dr Drift... i'd prefer this to an SAFC which is really my other choice being an automatic what does everyone think?
  21. options as i see it: - some expensive, but high-lift cams - ej20 conversion - wire up a switch to cylinder #1 and kill the spark when at idle - record the noise of a 427ci engine and put it on CD and play it while driving - make the noise yourself when driving and convince your passengers you're not crazy hope you find a solution Warren.
  22. its been posted by the guy organising that they have the shape for the skylines available.. can the group buy consist of orders for all different nissan makes? eg to make the total of 20, have 4*stagea 6*r32 6*r33 4*r34 i know i'm ver interested and i'm sure you would get 20 easy then for the logo, just make it the nissan logo and keep everyone happy! what do you say?
  23. am also keen, but i don't see why i would pay $500 for an aussie-built version if there is an overseas supplier that can make them for $350?? c'mon guys lets get this going its bloody cheap if we could get the exact same thing going as they have in teh thread for the stagea's then its perfect! ie inner colour, outer clour, stiching colour, nissan logo... Warren
  24. "basically said that i didnt like the way that he run his business" hmmm with the reaction that he gave you, i'm guessing there was more than just talking politely if i was doing my best and a customer yelled at me i would tell them to f*** off as well
  25. i didn't do them myself, had them put in by my mechanic. so i don't know how they went in exactly this thread is about the cam gears and rb25 turbo, so can we keep it on topic? there's already 3 or 4 threads about rb26 cams in rb20 thanks in advance
