  1. still not sure where i can get these cables from.. not available over the counter? really keen to get this hooked up on my PDA, but obviously i'm not one for computers or electronics.. medicine on the other hand...
  2. so can i get the required cables from tandy? or somewhere else? not sure if there is a jaycar in Brisbane.. also, let me again clarfiy this cable issue.. car --> null modem cable --> serial sync cable --> pda does this supply the pda with power to charge it also? or would you have to ensure the battery is full firstly? cheers, Warren
  3. i'm runnign windows 2003SE, but i have installed many programs desgned for windows CE and they all work 100% fine so let me get this straight re cables: 1 * consult cable (what does it look like?) 1 * DIY consult kit (what does this contain?) 1 * null modem cable (what is this?) 1 * serial sync cable (again, huh?) cheers, Warren
  4. hey mate i've got an O2XDAII mini can i install this on my PDA? exactly what cables would i need? is it just one cable from the car to the usb input on my PDA? also, where in the car does it plug into? my PDA is quite new and i've never used consult software before... cheers, Warren
  5. are the r32 bars both fiberglass? freight to brisbane? cheers, Warren
  6. hey amte, interested in the standard bov where are you located? PM me...
  7. and i hear stories of murderers, rapists, and michael jackson not everyone has a logical brain you know...
  8. hmmm so this isn't a one-off then... maybe the rb20 bov is different to the rb25 bov (ie inferior)? no one has this problem with an R33? is the rb25 bov a direct fit to the rb20 bov location? Waz.
  9. its actuallly quite obvious why most people do it.. cars cost 15k+ unless you're james packer, that doesn't leave much $$ for mods so when people see the options of FMIC for $1000, and boost controller for $100 its easy to just chose the simple option where they will get a higher power increase at the end of the day... money talks
  10. no worries.. thanks for your help mate! i'm still thinking might try a second-hand r33 bov or something? worth a try or not?
  11. thanks GTST... but you see i have lready blocked off the bypass hole many years ago (and yes there was a change in the acceleration noise once i did this...) any other ideas? PS let's keep this thread on the topic and not stray off onto the bov block-off mod which has been covered many a time! thanks!
  12. so here's the story.. most of the time when i accelerate, i have very loud inducion noises. in fact, my brother has a pod on his 300zxTT and a friend of mine has a pod on his tx5 turbo and neither are even half as loud as mine BUT... my setup is only the standard airbox (with some cold air intake pipes) with a high-flow fitler and on full load on the dyno it runs about 10.5:1 AFR (there doesn't seem to be an air leak) the thing is... sometimes (like 5% of the time), its not as loud as it normally is... do you think that my stock bov may not be holding boost well (i'm running 12psi) or is it just a figment of my imagination because i want a quick-fix for the fact that i nead an ECU eprom? cheers, Warren PS car is 1992 r32 gtst with 140000kms
  13. hey mate, is it the original carpet with the metal "skyline" logo on it? any pics? can send them to: warren_clements at hotmail dot com cheers, Warren
  14. hey mate when i moved from melbourne to brisbane, i moved my things with backloads (www.backloads.com) they had an option to move cars, and based on how they handled my things i can highly recommend them note: i didn't move my car with them as i drove it up here, but they had the option of doing it good luck! Warren
  15. wd-40
  16. mate, i also have a similar problem and after 3 years am still searching for an answer... i've got my eyes glued to this thread!
  17. a good battery should not go flat in that amount of time on a stock car.. your options: 1 - as you said it could be a flat battery. theyare usually rated at about 4 years lifetime.. so how old is yours? 2 - you may have something draining power. Do you have an amplifier? neons? some other lights? if they aren't wired in properly then they could be draining power when the car is off.. good luck, Warren
  18. my blades have been trimmed also when my FMIC was installed.. no problems for me a year down the track its not exatly a lot of rotating mass we are talking about here.. just because a mechanic says something, doesn't mean they are right.. most mechanics just regurgitate what they have heard before (from someone else), rather than have the ability to research an idea to determine if its actually plausible..
  19. maybe a tiny air leak? try spraying water with dishwashing liquid on the intake pipes and look for bubbles... cheers, Warren
  20. Performance JAp Specialist 4 B MErricrt Campbellfield the guy's name is Prassana and its open day and night 7 days a week very legit place andgreat to deal with (My brother bought his 300zx there) cheers, Warren
  21. NGK coppers for rb20 (and i think rb25) are: BCPR6ES they are gapped at 0.8mm from the factory cheers
  22. can someone provide evidence of ethanol's "more oxygenation" than regular fuel?
  23. japanese fuel is 100RON optimax extreme is 100RON so, the STOCK ecu IS tuned for this fuel the only difference is the ethanol additive which they have used to increse the octane rating.. will this damage your engine? at 5% of the blend, there will be sweet f-all going into your enging at any time, and i can't see how it could make a difference i have tried it and like it i give it an 8/10 and 2 thumbs up
  24. i've heard that the cops often get an admission of guilt by saying something like "do you have any reason for speading" if you simply answer "no" then you are actually saying "no, i don't have a reason for the fact that i was speeding" you have to reply with "i wasn't speeding", as was said by Bunta to reject their claim, and then stick to it without being an idiot about it otherwise they have you admitting you were speeding.. and you just get done without lube If you show the officer respect then they will in turn show you respect..
