  1. how did you go mounting it? surely it didn't fit in there easily... My thermofan didn't come on with the a/c, so i wired up my onw in-cabin switch so that i can turn it on in the bisbane heat.. this would add to my cooling upgrade...! Also, anyone have any idea what airflow the stock thermo fan is rated at?
  2. i went from stock to 3" straight through and without making it loud at all.. based on my experiences, i think there are 2 problems with why exhausts are too loud: 1) people but 10-year-old brand name aftermarket exhausts and the muffler / resonator are as good as a straight through pipe. GET NEW MUFFLERS, or simply get a custom-made exhaust for cheaper that automatically comes with new items 2) people don't run a resonator. I got the largest resonator fitted that could be ordered and the flow is still great but the drone is virtually non-existant. cheers, Warren
  3. define cheap.. they can be had for about $400-450 brand new from: www.carmate.com.au www.jetspeed.com.au www.justjap.com.au i am also itnerested in putting a GTR bar on my car, but despite seeing that pic i'm still not convinvced. I have psoken to a person who bought a GTR bar for their R32 and it simply didn't fit at all. Maybe its possible to get the stock plastic one modified (ie a bit of plastic removed to reduce the width) so that it fits properly? cheers, Warren.
  4. have had this shutter too for about 2.5years only appears when the engine is warm, and is worse when the engine is hot ...but doesn't seem to be so bad when its a cold day tried to change: - afm - spark plugs - all coils - ignitor - fuel filter - tried fiddling with wires to see if its an electrical problem - no luck - had injectors cleaned about a year and a half ago also tried cleaning IAC, fiddling with throttle switch, and cleaning the intake manifold with some carby cleaner all with no luck if you find what it is, then i will have sex with a monkey Waz.
  5. you know you want to sell me your 2510...
  6. i bought an auto trans cooler for $80 from supercheap at one of their 20% off sales and mounted it on the drivers side in the frunt bar (opposite side to where the stock intercooler it but same position) its great peace of mind..
  7. have you thought about insurance, stamp duty, rego?
  8. you should get some nice traction with the auto gearbox.. have you got a trannie cooler installed? or a shift kit? cheers, Warren
  9. have you considered the scenario that you sell a prefectly good and working car for a car that may have its own set of problems? most skylines aren't in the best of condition and have their own problems that the owner is trying to get rid of i know its probably not what you want to hear, but your laser is great on petrol and quite reliable.. i know as my girlfriend has one just like it (a 92 model). plus i don't think they are quite worth the 6 grand that you have predicted.. what are your real reasons for wanting to sell it? is it just for the sake of having a newere car and that you're bored? or that you just want something 'cooler'? for the sake of paying off a car loan for the next 10 years, is it really worth it? Warren.
  10. OR you could buy an R31 and drive it until you can afford something else cars cost money, not just to buy, but to maintain: - insurance - rego - petrol - servicing - accident damage (90% change that this will occur with your first car) - any problems that occur --> who knows you might need a rebuild or a new clutch in the first 6 months go have a chat to your parents about this and i'd be very surprised if they recommended that you get a loan for this kind of car at your age... of course you can take or leave this advice, but i highly recommend to strongly consider this as one of your best options cheers, Warren
  11. hmmm interesting results.. it's good that someone had a go at this age-old question, but i'm not convinced Having meself been in medical research, its very hard to just do something and have everyone believe it. you have to prove it to them and remove ANY variable to show that the SINGLE factor that changed results was the factor in question. This is always going to be very hard with this kind of test My quarms are that: - tests were not repeated - use of only one engine type (forced induction only) - use of a modified car rather than stock car with stock ECU - where did they get thir fuel from? local petrol station vs. directly from the supplier --> they could have measured the octane rating themselves to get the exact octane rating of the fuel they used rather than go by the advertised octane my conclusion: it was a fine "experiment", but was not conclusive enough to base anything solid on just my 2c
  12. how old are you? i wouldn't recommend a loan for a car.. especially if its your first car
  13. anyone get any car/house damage from that nasty hail storm in hte gold coast last night? Warren.
  14. you don't have to justify yourself to anyone... do it... DO IT
  15. when given such a short description chris, you have to try and "fill in the blanks" otherwise this guy is never going to goe some help with his problem as no one replies to automatic-related threads from the first post it seemed that it was simply a case of: he didn't realise that the car automatically acitvates the power button under fast acceleration, based on the information that was given. i didn't see anyone else popping in with some help for the guy then we get the above piece of information that clearly should have been stated initially "doesn't change gear" "violently drops into gear with a bang" so kamakazi, unfortunatley your transmission is stuffed and its time to get to a transmission specialist its much easier to post chriticism isn't it chris when you have the extra information? cheers, Warren.
  16. i think he might have been trying to be sarcastic there jimih...
  17. i am also keen for some footage, please include me in the DVD action! (warren_clements at hotmail.com or PM here)
  18. try posting in the victoria section rather than GAD for a better response.. i think you will find that one of the owners of ice performance is a member of these forums and the SAU-victoria club (LEEWAH is his nickname) and that half of the victorian skyline drivers swear by this workshop Warren.
  19. these also don't fit the R32 (i found out the hard way!)
  20. got some pics? what do they look like? colour? any logo on them? i'm keen - PM me when you have some info or can email me warren_clements at hotmail.com
  21. plugs: NGK coppers: BCPR6ES-11 (for 1.1mm gap) or BCPR6ES (for 0.8mm gap). they don't sell them in a 6-pack, so you have to buy 6 individual ones. they are only about $3 or $4 each though battery: the more cells, the better. seriously, its a bloody battery - just buy the best one that fits into the stock location. supercheap is probably your best bet too, and you can pick up both items at the same time cheers, Warren.
  22. when the car detects you are driving fast, even if you havent put the "power" button on, it activates it itself so no, your auto is NOT stuffed think of what you could do to your gearbox + engine with the thousands that it costs for a manual conversion... cheers, Warren.
  23. this might give you a guide... my friend as a NA 300zx with the VG30DE 3.0L V6 (so, he has an extra 500cc over you, plus the double-throttle setup that the Z's have..) he is currently making 140rwkw with the following mods: - 3" exhaust - 3" cats - tuned-length headers - port and polished head with larger valves on intake and exhaust side - larger throttle bodies - larger injectors - unichip - pod filter + induction setup ... all this on a freshly rebuilt engine he has spent A LOT on this engine and it is still only making 140rwkw, even with the head modifications that he has.. i this does not discourage you from trying to build up a 2.5L NA engine, then i don't know what does.. cheers, Warren.
  24. do a search
  25. how much of an exhaust do you have? i would say make sure that its full 3" from the turbo-back so that may mean going some dumps and cat.. then maybe remove the bosot restrictor so that it runs 14psi (do a seach for this), or install a boost controller then get an air filter - one of hte k&n ones that fits into the stock airbox then go the power FC cheers, Warren.
