  1. i'd be surprised if a resonator would take off more than 4 or 5kW and this kind of power difference is the same as any discrepancy between dyno's anyway...
  2. what about timing too retarded?
  3. i think the key is a nice big resonator before the muffler... sometimes you jsut have to bite the bullet and sacrifice a few kW's for the sake of being road-legal... Warren.
  4. i got mine at supercheap
  5. seing as the car is an AUTO and traction/launch won't be as much of a problem as a manual with the equivalent power... i would say low 13s
  6. hoses, clamps ha ha
  7. YES he should be using 98-RON premium why? do a search, there have been about 5 threads in the last 2 weeks on petrol
  8. mine's an auto (but gtst, not gts) and it has LSD not sure if that helps, but it shows that they did make the auto's with LSD in some form..
  9. i thought the EL falcon ones fit and were the same ($80 each brand new) you just have to cut off the falcon plug and replace it with your current plug there's a thread on it in the maintenance section i think.. Warren.
  10. um... what about silicone (the tube type)?
  11. no, i think you should get the much cheaper R31 you are now at the HIGHEST category of: - crashing, and either killing yourself or hurting yourself - insurance premiums - blowing an engine or gearbox (got the $$ to replace it?) - wanting to modify (do you really have the $$?) taking a loan for a first car, if that's what you are doing, is not the best advice anyone could give you... Warren.
  12. how long is a piece of string? my opinion is that my exhaust combo sounds best i think the best option is a free-flowing exhaust with a massive resonator. this keeps the deep sound but removes the drone everyone is going to have their own opinion here, and every exhaust sounds different on different cars
  13. ha ha - gold!
  14. if you did a search, you would realise that: the gauge reads in mmHg, NOT psi or bar, and this means that +7 is approx 14psi or just under 1bar so on a stock R33, the boost should reach about +3.5 at full boost. an exhaust and air filter might lift this to about +4 or +4.5, but the only way for it to reach much higher is using a boost controller... Warren.
  15. unburnt fuel and carbon from the rich tune hits the cat conveter and due to its high temperature it cloggs the biscuit and melts it..? makes sense to me.. have you tried a "race cat"?
  16. supercheap has a nice colelction of about 5-10 brands with the same product
  17. my rb20 has done that since the day i bought my R32gtst about 2.5 years ago sometines its fine, sometimes its bad. its worse when the engine is warm i find.. i have tried replacing almost everything in the engine bay (except for the engine) with no luck Warren.
  18. get an R31 for about 3k and invest the rest then in 2 or 3 years, when you are off your P's, take out your money from invetment and buy an R32 GTR
  19. firstly, there is a "wanted to buy section" secondly, don't use caps it implies shouting thirdly, use the enter button a bit to separate the text your formatting is terrible
  20. agree with bov... something else has to have been altered when they changed the exhaust i instantly noticed more power when i had a 3" made for my rb20.. Warren.
  21. If you want my opinion, its a great idea for a project As many have said, its not going to be a cheap GTR, but will be better than wasting that beauty of an engine in a commonwhore chassis...
  22. stock boost using the rb20 actuator is 9psi... what's the problem?
  23. www.carmate.com.au www.jetspeed.com.au www.justjap.com.au that should get you started..
  24. punch a hole into one of your intake pipes... that will make you run richer.. you might even go thought a tank of petrol in 10mins if the hole is big enough..
