  1. GTSt wheels are 16" * 6.5" GTR wheels are 16" * 8" i think (well they are at the rear at least) and as said the GTR wheels seem to be a shade of grey... Cheers, Warren
  2. well if i remember back to my year 12 chemistry days, then: 1 atmosphere = 14.3psi = 101.325kPa = 760mmHg so... 10kPa / 101.325 * 14.3 = 1.41psi now comes to the next point... does it feel like its running no boost? what is the maximum and minimum values on the gauge? my bet is that in the corner of the gauge it says something like x10 and in fact 10 on the gauge is 100kPa... good luck! Warren.
  3. well... technically its wrong but what he is saying is what happens in the real world let me explain... skylines run rich... right? so with an aftermarket mnagement system you will lean it out and make more power at lowe rpm so theoretically you will save on fuel BUT... what do you do when you have more power? you use it! so as a result of having the aftermarketmanagement system you give it that little bit more which makes the theoretical fuel economy saving mean nothing. Warren.
  4. tell me more about the cat converter... it is a cat with the pipe through it? or is it a pipe that simply replaces the cat? and is it 3" in size? and are you willing to sell it separately? cheers, Warren.
  5. hmmm i have the built-in aerial also in my front windscreen - i thought that was standard? was it a big task to get a replacement then? (not that i need one, just for interests sake...)
  6. nice work mate what can i say... performace jap specialist is just great prassana is a legend, and barry is a top bloke!
  7. when i drove from melbto brisbane i bought 3 bottles of nulon pro strength octane boost and was going to use them if i couldn't find 98-ron fuel i found premium everywhere but have used the octane boost since... so that's what i would do if i were you Warren.
  8. how did that happen? take a speed bump at 40km/h?
  9. its no different to the manual the auto has its own, separate, ECU that controlls it so you're laughing Warren.
  10. if tis a deposit, then do you get a receipt before you take it for a drive then too?? i would NOT hand over $500 to someone i didn't know, even if they said they would give it back.. what if they are gone when i get back, or waiting with a baseball bat saying "now thanks for the $500 and take off mate" ??? its not a forum out there, real world rules apply...
  11. absolutely awesome! i've had the car for about 2.5 years now and besides performance modifications and general servicing, the only problem i have had was a timing belt one tooth out (not really a problem, more an incorrect service really)
  12. i think you've come to a good decision there...
  13. some call cable ties a "quick fix" too... i think they're both a viable long-term option
  14. i use that oil with no problems  as for the sound... maybe the lifters aren't getting oil into them (ie some sludge or something lodged) try some "oil flush" on your next change oh, and its been said buti have to say it too... change your filter with the oil!! cheers, Warren.
  15. mine was also lots of stright driving. thing is, with so many traffic lights and speed changes that you mentioned, cound the time where you are at a speed and not accelerating or braking from the lights or to dodge cars, or for roundabouts etc etc the time when you are cruising at speed is minimal you would end up activating the cruise about 10-15 times in a trip... clearly not worth it i think also, they allow you to 'relax' more behind the wheel, making your rection times absolutely shithouse but i'm not going to say anymroe as its your money and if you have your heart set on it then fair enough in that case, i say check out autobarn or supercheap - they probably have some generic kits that are pretty plug-and-play type of things... best of luck, Warren.
  16. this is pretty stupid i can't believe this thread went on for so long... who would actually hand over $500 to someone you've never met? ...really? ...seriously?? i thought not... i won't even give one of my mates $500 to hold - what if he lost it? its one thing to drive the car yourself with the person in the passenger seat, or not let them take the car for a drive if they don't look interested (ie turn up, pop the hood, then ask for a drive), but to ask someone for $500 with no guarantee that you will give it back is just plain rediculous its the real world out there guys...
  17. what about some silicone? thats how i fixed my leaky targa roof on my old MA70 supra... Waz.
  18. maybe you can just pic up a second-hand sunroof from the wreckers from any old car and get that instaled? ie one of the non-electric types? still performs its function... surely its just a matter of cutting a hole, putting it in, making sure it forms an air-tight seal...?
  19. i had cruise in my last car and really didn't use it... even though i drove 45mins each way to and from uni every day for 4 years my 2c to think about: will you use it enough to justify the possible $300+ price tag?
  20. good advice. if i were interested in a car and they guy said it would bea 500 deposit for a test drive i would tell him to shove it and find another car to buy... after all, you're trying to sell a car in a very competitive yet stagnent used car market. you don't want to shoot yourself in the foot with potential buyers if it were me, i would do what mick said... cheers, Warren
  21. if times are your only consideration, buy a pre-modded R32GTSt and go from there otherwise the cost won't be worth it the strengths of the R32 aren't its quartermile times. take one for a drive through some corners, and give the brakes some workout... compared to your falcon (and the BA) and you will be amazed at the braking and handling... oh, and the difference between a 2L engine and a 4L engine is that its double the size... that's double hte exhaust gas to spool up a turbo. Thus you can expect that a fair sized turbo on a 4L will be large on a 2L. Its like getting a truck turbo off an 8L engine and bolting it to a BA XR6T... it will be laggy as a mofo. why? its half the capacity... Warren.
  22. yeah i have to agree some dyno's are a bit suss with their power figures from what i have seen in the past does it feel like its lost 25rwkw? that would certainly be noticable... if not, then don't worry about it
