is that video downlaodable? or just watchable in the screen? -
skyline vs commodore = who would win?
WazR32GTSt replied to liner32's topic in General Automotive Discussion
talk about digging up an old thread... the last post was months ago.. is it just me or does this sound stupid? thanks for pointing out the BLEEDING OBVIOUS, but slap $10,000 worth of turbocharger system onto any NA engine and they will be bloody fast.. -
R34 Non-turbo Manual 0-100km/h?
WazR32GTSt replied to Charles Tisse's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
you will find that it will always be a second or 2 above what is quoted from the factory... -
well i'm not an expert on mechanics or electrics, but i can only put in the following in hope that it might help seeing as you have spent so much on an engine rebuild and obviously want it to run perfectly.. have you considered buying an entire new wiring loom and replacing your old, worn, broken wires with the new loom? who knows where you might have a broken wire that may be coming loose intermittently.. anyway good luck Warren.

yes where and how much?

i think you have to have owned the car for at least 1 year overseas before you bring the car over.. but it still has to meet australian standards with regards to everything in it (engine, brakes, tyres, etc.). i don't like the chances of registering a s14 with an rb26 unless every finicky detail has been covered including a RHD conversion.. good luck! Warren PS go canucks!

i pain 12k for mine about 2.5 years ago and have had no problems since.. i think the key is to buy something that is stock as there are many thrashed cars around that are waiting to kick the bucket.. old and poor mods are a good sign of this.. Warren.

this is one of those threads that can go on for days about peoples opinions and gets no where.. what really matters is not what others think, but what YOU think about the cars.. some things that may differ and may be of importance when considering purchasing one include: - looks - acceleration - braking - handling - interior comfort - modifying potential - credability all these points differ between the R32 and the S13.. and its all up to you to directly answer your question now, and remember that this is purely based on my opinion: - looks: R32 looks the goods; S13 looks like an old 300zx and is bland - acceleration: both pretty similar and depends on how modified the car is. remember that there are no stock versions going around these days - braking: R32 has bigger brakes and brakes very well - handling: both pretty similar i think. i love how the R32 handles and from memory LSD was an option on the S13 but standard on the R32 so that may help it grip around corners a bit better - interior comfort: R32 is biger which helps when you are 6"4 - modifying potential: both have great potential. sr20 > rb20 > ca18 from what i have read - credability: no jap car beats the cred of a skyline, after all that's why we are joined up with SAU isn't it? hope that helped, Warren.

Now This Is What I Call A Wide Body...
WazR32GTSt replied to krayzia2's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
looks stuipd its just wide for the sake of being wide rather than for the sake of looking good or being functional... -
no worries mate if you can hold a spanner and know what an engine is, then you will soon find that basically its not all that diferent from what you would have seen before (until you get down to the technical stuff!).. good luck with it all
-
i'm no use just yet but give me 3 more years and i'll be able to fix any broken bones when you crash your 'line and get rushed into the ER just look for the doctor in the emergency room with "SAU" embroyded onto their scrubs..

yeah stay away from that "computer took over my car" kind of thinking - that was the mentality of the early 90s.. if you have checked the fuses under the dash and inside the engine bay, then either could be a faulty relay or a loose connection somewhere an auto electrition could probably find the problem in less than 30mins next time it happens.. good luck, Warren.

just wanted to say great idea to stick with the rb20 and go the rb24 conversion.. good to see someone has some balls and doesn't just fall in behind the rest of the pack cheers, Warren.

Jap Brand Exhausts Or Local!
WazR32GTSt replied to siddr20's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i say local.. and not local brand, i mean local exhaust shop you get: - brand new - to your specifications re sound and height of the ground - half the price - good quality i paid $540 for a 3" cat-back in mild steel with a stainless cannon muffler and an extra-large resonator.. all installed and tested before paying the money over fansastic value for money and sounds exactly to my specifications plus they actually make it sit higher than stock so you can get your car lowered and still make clearance cheers, Warren. -
Stock R32 Gts-t Power Output
WazR32GTSt replied to Big Rizza's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
just over 130rwkw... nice work when you say "stock other than a pod filter" what exactly does this mean? to me it means stock exhaust and everything.. but to others, "stock" means including other modifications if it truly is what i refer to as stock then that's a good (read: high) result for an rb20 with NO mods at all.. do you have a print-out of the dyno graph that you can post up? (don't forget to black-out your numberplate off the top corner) cheers, Warren. -
Blow Off Valve On R33 Gts-t
WazR32GTSt replied to black_gtst's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
a simple search would tell you that the problem is the type of BOV the stock BOV vents into a pipe that is plugged back into the intake just before the turbo.. so when you let off the accelerator the air is not lost, rather it is kept and re-used and the car is expecting this.. your BOV gets rid of the air, but the car isn't expecting this so (basically) starts to shit itself (your symptoms) either put the stock BOV back on or get one that is the "recirculating" type or "plumb-back" type (i think GFB and turbosmart both make these types just to name a few) sure, they won't make as loud of a "pppppsssssssssssssscccccccchhhhhhhhh" but they are still functional and audible.. cheers, Warren. -
i don't think they do, roy.. they can he had in the exact same condition with the same k's these days they are a completely different car for mine and the styling of the R32 is just the goods plus that rb20.. we all know its your true love and soul mate.. ha ha
-
colour? body condition? some pics might give a better indication to the car's value.. after all the difference between a 8k shitbox and a 15k immaculate car can be simply its "general condition" ie how it has been loooked after and whether or not it looks like it will last the test of time a 16yo car that has its fair share of mods doesn't seem like it would be in that great of condition... i'm going to pin the tail on the donkey too at about 12k cheers, Warren

mate, first of all can i say don't believe everything you read. this is a public forum where people can post whatever they want to and some of it just isn't good advice and so i am going to post what i want.. its just my opinion and feel free to take or leave the advice.. 1) your fuel consumption is terrible. A stock R32 straight off the boat should get about 400kms per tank. Something is wrong with the car. It could be any one of the following: spark plugs, timing, coils, wiring problem, oxygen sensor, air leak, injector problem, etc. etc. BUT... You don't want to have to worry about that if you don't know much about cars.. solution? mechanic! 2) take it to your trusty mechanic and tell them your problem. they know cars and know why people get bad fuel economy.. they can test all the particulars and work out what is going wrong. BEst someone with a dyno or that has seen an import before as they can find the problem a bit quicker than someone who doesn't know the car.. 3) don't get an afermarket ECU. Its just simply not needed to fix your problem and is shocking advice for people to be giving you.. your car should be running fine on premium unleaded if everything else is ok with the car - its obvious there is a problem somewhere else that needs to be fixed... Hope it all turns out ok cheers, Warren PS the best way to learn about your skyline is to READ about how it all works. check out the FAQ and tutorial sections and read and ask questions.

mate, that FMIC has heaps of airflow already... improving the airflow might get you anouther 0.00001kW if that's what you 're after if you are doing it for looks then that's another story but purely for airflow is a waste of $400... Warren.

Eoi: Wrecking R32 Gtr
WazR32GTSt replied to GTR_Junkie's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
well this is the "for sale" section, so if its not for sale yet then this thread should be deleted.. -
i had a MA70 (same except for engine) inside its not a bad thing... handling is not bad considering the weight add some power and reliability to what i had and i might have kept it..

this is poor advice stick with the auto...
