To fit or not to fit? That is the question S15 Rims
WazR32GTSt replied to QuickR33Melb's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
this may help you... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=35211 -
yeah rims to fill the guards on the widebody may cost as much as the kit itself! esp if you want 18's...
-
more ideas? i think the original idea of just skylinesaustralia on the front is best and leave off the metal plate because how many people would want something engraved and how many people will end up with just a crappy blank metal plate on the back? plus its not like it would be a pro job if you're just writing stuff with an engraver... hard to make it look really good (unless you have skill?) just my opinion anyway, but i'd get one regardless if it has skylinesaus on it as i'm a proud member...

To fit or not to fit? That is the question S15 Rims
WazR32GTSt replied to QuickR33Melb's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hey jevan hows things? u still going out with Seeona? if so say hi from me In response to your question... if just for track days, might be cheapest to get a set of stock R33 rims as the S15 ones go for a bit more $$$ than the R33 ones... that way you have more money to put towards some decent tyres for the rims etc. but i can't answer the part about offsets sorry. take it easy, Warren. -
my dad and i fitted it. very easy actually i didn't have to do much. i put it in the drivers side intake area in the front bar (opposite side to the intercooler) the one i bought came with the cooler, hoses, clamps, and some cable ties. i had 2 metal brackets lying around the garage, and bent these into an "L" chape so that one end could bolt to the top of the compartment, and the long ends could hang for the cooler to attach to. - took out the battery and drilled 2 holes under it to bold the top end of the brace to - secured them with nut/bolt each - placed the cooler in front of the hanging ends of the brace, then used the supplied cable ties to attach it. they are some special sort of ties that are designed for this. they run through the fins - attached hoses to intake and exit side of cooler the trannie fluid enters and exits the radiator down the bottom on the drivers side - i loostened one hose at both ends, then removed it and replaced one end with the intake, and one end with the exit of the trannie cooler - added about 500mL of trannie fluid to accomodate extra capacity presto!

there are 2 audi concept cars with twin-turbo V10's in them - worth a look, although one has no interior the other is mean. that 2-door camry is decent with its 2.4T engine. that would be sweet especially if they actually put that engine into the normal camry and made it 4wd also! hmmmm ok i'm dreaming a bit here now ford and holden stands were shit as usual. nissan stand STILL selling GTR items (even though they havn't sold the GTR here for about 10 years) - go figure. so why aren't they selling the bloody skyline here??? morons... i was just happy to go and sit in some cars like the integra/mx-5/monaro etc. which i read so much about yet never get teh cance to formulate my own opinions about. well now i have confirmed that most of them are shit. first hand experience is great isn't it. well worth a look. Waz.

RB20DE CAMS INTO RB20DET who has done it?
WazR32GTSt replied to Dayna's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
how much did you pick up an rb20de intake cam for? and what else was required to buy to make it all work? or was it just a case of slap her in there and drive away? also, do you have an 'before' performance figures to compare to the 'after' figures that you posted? cheers, Warren. -
it always hurts to hear something like that happen... bad luck mate you should go nuts with the next one with a trans cooler etc. to make sure it survives those launches. i recently put a trans cooler on my auto gearbox... $80 from supercheap and only took about an hour to fit and connect!

WazR32GTSt replied to WazR32GTSt's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)

i recently put sideskirts onto my R32gtst, and so had to take off the frant 2 mud flaps/mud guards i have no idea what they cost to buy, so open to $offers they are dark blue with black flap at the bottom. could probalby be painted by yourself rather than by a spray painter as they are small enough to maybe get away with it. condition perfect pic attached in Taylors Lakes, Melbourne (north west) or call 0413 555 417 cheers, Warren

plastic or metal?
-
what a toss pot... giving us a bad name, wrecking a good car that someone decent might want to buy one day, endangering the lives of others on the roads... definately not someone from here (i hope). if i see 'em, i'll hurt 'em
-
i agree with this as well...
-
in in in did u say aluminuim? wouldn't it be cheaper if it were plastic? but put me down for one anyway... cheers!

MAS 04 - Super special surprise entry on our stand...
WazR32GTSt replied to Jamezilla's topic in Victoria
you guys rock! i'd pay just to see that car alone! -
bad cold starts failed turbo's above 14psi dodgy climte control screens dodgy oil pressure gauge rough idle sometimes that's abour it that i can think of - good to see htyey are all minor
-
have you tried some sort of polish (ie silvo) and either a buffer or just elbow grease?
-
- cold starts can be a problem that many people have found so check that out - rb20's are realiable and should not be burnign any oil at all. if its not on full when you check the dipstick, question it... - same for trannie fluid. if it ain't pinkish then question it (of course if he says he hasn't changed fluid in 20,000kms then probably won't be but you may catch him out) - climate controls can give way (screens go blank) but doesn't happen to everyone. just play around with it a bit to make sure it all works - make sure there's no water in the boot or spare tyre - make sure its never been boosted above 14psi as this will cause the stock turbs to sh1t itself that price seems OK as long as there's not too much body damage... remember that the condition of the trim must match the kms orr something dodgy is going on you won't regret looking into an rb20!!!

wow i go away to the beach for a week and look what i miss! whatever the source, i will take 1 definately... just let me know when things start to happen. cheers, Waz
-
my guess: - soomeone has changed the wastgate actuator to one which provides more flow over the exhaust wheel before the wastgate opens, thus more boost - oil usage.... hmmmm... no leaks you say? i say check again...! if not maybe its buning but you jsut can't see it very well (seeign a its only through the rear windscreen). when i had issues with my old supra burning oil, i tried this test (on a still day): open the windows, then from rest put it into reverse and reverse quickly so that the exhaust released comes into the cabin. smell like burning oil? for some reason the car needs a load to release a tuft of blue smoke... good luck, Waz.

well when i was looking for cars, the soarer was one of the main cars i was looking at, although i don't own one and someone may like to shed some light on what its like to own, i will tell you my experience: - we had a lot of trouble when i was looking as the 3 or 4 we looked at were burning oil... from what i have heard this is not common although something to watch out for when buying ANY car for that matter... - TT version very quick but is like a boat to drive - V8 was smooth to drive, still quick enough and has more fruitful goodies inside. its also a very reliable piece of machinery. - a bad point may be that many mechanics in australia may not touch them as there is no english instructions for the dash or any of the electrics. but www.planetsoarer.com.au may help you out in that department. pretty much if you want a car to get you from point A to point B in STYLE, and quickly, then this car is a BEAST! but it handles like a boat and is a bitch to park also. that's why i chose a syline, because it suits my driving style better and i drive lots and park in all sorts of places. good luck with the purchase. cheers, Waz.
