  14. it will run without it BUT the ipod lead that I sell will not work as it disables the port that it plugs into if you remove it. there is a trick to it but it is at board level and I do not wish to disclose that for the express reason people will start harassing me when they destroy a board whilst trying to mod it.

  17. they are ENTIRELY different. ADM 2009 was analog video JDM 2008 was digital. if you were going to do it then a harness swap would be in order as would a front panel swap. small parts for R35s are not a problem for me to do ex osaka. all I need is a part number or a jap chassis and I can get them. panels are a different matter. happy to talk about it if someone wants to give me a call.
  18. brant did them in 2004/5 autowatch did as well. bit of a nusiance when it fails though.
  19. nate, it is a SAU club event so your fee is $30 since you are not a member. common sense applies to this event - do something wrong that causes or almost causes a crash and you WILL know about it. the whole idea is not to race but to get out on a track and enjoy yourself. questions I'm happy to answer them ( I am an exec for the club) or shoot noel a message.
  20. if you can tell them how it happened - yes. the dealer fitted immobiliser should have been pulled when compliance was done. the other one (compliance fitted) may be simply hacked into place and quite easily removed. without the car in front of me I am simply pulling straws.
  21. time to bend over and take it like a man its a new panel,ac controls, bose lead and SWC unit then a new radio then its fixed. its not going to be a cheap exercise.

  23. bit of a redundant question when you think about it. they are service parts. they are meant to fail at some point in the cars life and given most of these cars are 7-8 yrs old when you get them I do not see that as too bad a thing given the amount of use they would have over that time. you are getting these cars half way through their life. things are going to break. repari them proerply using proper OEM parts and they will last another 8-10 yrs. by that time you will have all moved on and bought other cars. (unless you are like me and keep things for years on end) half arsing things on them is simply asking for more trouble in my eye. you do not own a 1975 datsun 120 Y here. you own what was a $90k car when it was new and as such parts will need to be replaced on them when they fail we all know the electrics are done by renault and as such the are a tad expensive and unreliable after several years of use. to me that's life and part of owning one of these cars. my immediate thoughts are this: if you have one thing in that door fails do both sides and do EVERYTHING in it. now that may not be your cup of tea but from a point of ripping the thing down several times to change things that break it certainly makes it a lot simpler if you do it all at once. my 2c.
  24. for those that keep sending me messages about the pop up screen I used a few pages back - please stop. those were bought as a closeout from china and are no longer available,. if yours DOES NOT work remove it and put the stock gauges up there OR a GTR MFD.
