  1. I think you will find that most people who will reply with a yes to the modded GTS-t will have never owned a GTR before and would have a very one sided view on the issue. And saying "I've driven a GTR before" doesn't cut it. You need to own one and drive it PROPERLY. Not just putt around on the street in someone else's GTR. I also think that you will find that just about everyone who has owned a GTR and a GTS-t will pick the GTR without more than a passing thought. Simply put, the stock GTR is a much better car to drive, even compared to a GTS-t with $26k worth of mods thrown on it. Then throw $5000 worth of mods on the GTR, and there's absolutely no comparison.
  2. P.S. Would it be possible for me to get a copy of that RB26 silhouette please? andrewho.com]email@[spam]andrewho.com (remove "[spam")
  3. re: RB26 silhouette I understand where you're coming from, but I disagree... Just because you may not own a GTR with RB26, doesn't mean that you can't have a t-shirt with it on the back. The RB26 is the flagship engine of the Skyline range, and it should be respected as such... You can't always appease everyone. Logo's aren't meant to represent every single option and make sure no toes are stepped on. What are you going to do? Represent every single engine option on all Skylines? As for feeling bad about not including the R31, where do you draw the line? What about the S54B? The C10? The C110? The C211? The DR30? They're all Skylines too, and have every right to appear on that beautiful banner you made of the Tommy Kaira cars! Do you see what I'm getting at? Just because you use the GTR or RB26, it's not shunning all the other models, it's just a representative of the group! And what better representative than the flagship? It seems like an almost obvious choice to me? Besides, I only suggested the RB26 silhouette for the Official SAU (australia-wide) t-shirt design, not for the logo

  5. If you guys don't mind, I'm going to stick my unwanted mug in here for a few minutes Firstly, I think the above it the best so far. Well done to all involved in making parts of that logo, I think it rocks One thing that you have to consider, is that "Skyline" is a trademarked word belonging to Nissan Australia. We (SAU NSW) have had to ask permission from Nissan Australia anytime we wanted to put the word "Skyline" on anything (e.g. Our banner).... You can't just add it to your logo willy nilly and print it up on all sorts of shirts and banners and business cards without seeking prior permission from Nissan Australia. I personally thought that since they granted SAU NSW use of the word "Skylines" in our club name, we would have some sort of limited creative licence with the word to print banners and business cards and shirts, but Dino Brown (our new President who has been liasing with Nissan Australia) assures me otherwise... So for now, I think it would be wisest to stick with designs that say "SAU" and not "Skylines"... At the AGM that SAU NSW held a few weeks ago I suggested that we (or someone ) come up with a UNIFORM SAU logo and shirt design that can be reproduced at any time for future members. The idea behind this was so we don't have 50 different "SAU" shirts, but ONE design that current members can buy and FUTURE members can buy so everyone is wearing the same thing. I was going to further suggest a "Skylines Australia" shirt, as opposed to an SAU NSW shirt, so we could have national uniformity, but I don't know how you guys feel about that. I really liked the design of the RB26 you guys had for MAS, and was going to try and do something with that for the shirt.... Thoughts?

  8. what scruitineering??
  9. As far as I can tell, the PSSSSSSHHH noise is air getting sucked into the fuel tank. Because as your fuel pump lifts the fuel away into the motor, it isn't injecting any more air into the tank (it's completely sealed)... So as it lifts petrol away, it creates a vacuum in the tank, so when you open the fuel cap, air rushes in to fill that negative pressure area. If you don't get the PSSSSSHHHHH, your fuel tank isn't completely sealed.
  10. Use a product called "Sikaflex" to re-affix the metal threaded part onto the car. Put a lot on around the metal threaded part, so when you press the metal threaded part onto the car, the black Sikaflex oozes out around the sides. Leave it for 24 hours to dry, and then cut the excess black Sikaflex away. Done.
  11. So has anyone other than Adrian entered?
  12. It's all true... I can't argue with that
  13. I think the general consensus is 600hp is a SAFE limit to impose on rods, and 800hp for the crank. They will hold a little more than 600hp, but they'll be living on borrowed time.
  14. $17-20 would be my guess for a 1989 R32 GTR imported under the 15 year rule.
  15. I refuse to post in this thread.
  16. I'll be wandering around with a camera afixed around my neck Most people there should know me and be able to point you in my direction, including Troy... If you want to use a smiley face, use this one: as that's what I'm doing everytime I post on here
  17. 1. I didn't take that video, it was dropped because the car nearly rolled and he guy grabed hold of himself bracing himself. 2. You stick to your videos and tests... But you should know that my previous car was a 380rwhp GTS-t and I took it to Wakefield, Eastern Creek and Oran Park multiples times in the year or so that I owned it. I'm currently building my GTR for circuit racing. 3. You remind me of an old person who tells stories of his younger years. Thanks for the stories, but they're not interesting. 4. It would take *WAY* too long to reply to that drivel, so I'll just leave it with this. (important parts bolded and upsized for easier reading for older eyes) So before going off on your own little ridiculous tangent talking about all sorts of crap about PRB Clubmans, and GT40s, Chev Chapparals, Sir Jack Brabham and Neil Bates, perhaps you should make an appointment with your optometrist. It's obvious to me that you mistook my initial reply as an attack of your own evidently LEGENDARY driving skills, when all I said was that MOST PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM WOULDN'T HAVE A CHANCE IN HELL OF BEATING AN EXPERIENCED AND TRAINED DRIVER LIKE JOHN. (Last time I checked Neil Bates with his 4AGE PRB Clubman didn't frequent this forum) Thank you for dropping by though, it's been entertaining.
  18. Well thanks for the history lesson... And you're right... You were probably racing before the birth of black jesus. (that will fly right over his head no doubt) "Maybe it's as you say, most of the people on here aren't up to the task, driver or car, but it's only most! not all" So maybe you'd like to show us all how that differs from what I said? And as for your old racing skills, here's a low resolution of a Racing Car Driver from the 70's (your hey day) lapping Wakefield Park last weekend at the REXNET Private PRACTICE day... http://www.members.optusnet.com.au/[email protected] And, yes... I'm being absolutely serious. I assume since you're such an authority on motor racing, that you'd know Wakefield Park's lines and can spot the horrendous ones being taken by this clown, let alone his stupid antics in diving under brakes (or in one case, no brakes at all) and nearly wiping out other cars on the track. Or perhaps you aren't familiar with the new revamped Wakefield Park, because it has been renovated like Oran Park since you were a little ankle biter
  19. I can't tell whether you're joking or being serious!!!! Either way: :)
  20. Sorry... That must be before my time. Oran Park these days only has South Circuit, North Circuit and Grand Prix Circuit. That was a little bit of a dick swinging effort there mate Well done. You've definitely impressed all the 14 year olds on here And my point still stands 100%. Most people on here wouldn't be able to beat trained and experienced racing drivers like John on their best days, even with nitrous.
  21. Here's the link for the CALENDAR entry http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/ca...ay=2004-6-4&c=1
  22. Negative. I know most people on here, even on their best day, won't beat a trained and experienced driver (e.g. John)....... even on their best days. It's all about racing experience, and previous driver training on a race circuit.
  23. Arias, ACL, Venolia, JE, CP, JUN, Cosworth, HKS, GREX, APEXi......... Take your pick. With the information you just gave us (nothing), any of the above will be fine.
  24. Well since I'm Ford's chief designer on the XR6T Project, let me answer that........
