HKS turbos may very well surprise you I'm running a 8000rpm redline (raised from standard 7000)... Everytime I dyno the car, I tell them to take it all the way to 8000, and they look at me and say "oh the power curve will probably drop off before then" to which I reply.. "Just take it to 8000". So they do so, and they all get very surprised when it keeps pulling at an enormous rate all the way to 8000, I'm quite sure if I raised the redline to 9000, it would continue to pull upto there and probably eclipse 300rwkw on 1.2 bar, but I'm not *that* brutal on stock conrods I'll wait until uprated ones have been put in before doing that

Since Motoconcepts are pretty much finished with car events, I guess we'll have to organise our own. What I propose is that everyone goes and gets their CAMS C3 licence through an accredited CAMS licencer such as Peter Finlays, Ian Luff or anyone else who is able to carry out the C3 Observed Licence Test (OLT)... After you have recieved your CAMS licence, you are able to rock up and participate at any of the private practice days at Oran Park, Wakefield or Eastern Creek for a reduced cost!! Private Practice days at Eastern Creek are only $70 for ARDC members and $105 for non-members... Much cheaper than Motoconcepts if you're an ARDC member! ARDC Information - http://www.eastern-creek-raceway.com/ardc.htm Eastern Creek Private Practice Days - http://www.eastern-creek-raceway.com/calendars.htm#Private Practice Calendar://http://www.eastern-creek-raceway.co...actice Calendar://http://www.eastern-creek-raceway.co...actice Calendar://http://www.eastern-creek-raceway.co...actice Calendar Wakefield Park Events Calendar - http://www.wakefieldpark.com.au/site/event...events_calendar Oran Park - http://www.oranpark.com/ N.B. You *NEED* your CAMS C3 or better licence to participate at these "Private Practice" days.

As far as I can tell, Wiseco have off the shelf pistons and they also are able to make custom requests for customers. Off the shelf, they stock 86mm (standard bore) and 87mm pistons. I wanted to get the 87mm pistons for two reasons: 1. Juuuuuuuust in case I have any bore damage, and it needs to be machined out a little 2. Then the engine builder is able to control how much clearance there is when putting the engine back together. If you buy the 86mm pistons, you're pretty much at the whim of what Wiseco gives you, and you have to drop it straight in. I've been chasing RB26 rods and crank for a while because of several reasons: 1. I have nearly bought a few sets from Perth or New Zealand, but I didn't feel comfortable buying second hand bottom end parts without checking them out first, as the smallest warp would render them quite useless. So I've been waiting for a set to come up for sale in Sydney. 2. The R33 and R34 crankshafts have a larger oil pump drive than the R32 crank, and is obviously much newer as well... If you're going to pay to get your engine stripped, and rebuilt, you might as well do it properly. Forged pistons aren't that big of a cost, and add a LOT of reliability to the engine. Forged rods aren't really that necessary unless you want to rev the tits of the car... GTRs have a redline of 8000rpm, so shotpeened, linished and cracktested RB26 rods should be good for a 9000rpm redline (make sure you upgrade your valvetrain if you want to chase these kinds of revs) Cheers, Andrew.

A few tips (a bit late): * As already stated, when the buyer calls, ask for a landline number, hang up and call them back. *THEN* start talking. * Don't EVER EVER EVER give out your home address. Arrange to meet somewhere, and if you're not a big guy, take a mate. * If you're selling a car, and you decide to take them for a drive or let them drive the car, take their driver's licence and give it to someone to hold until you return. * Trust your instincts. If they look dodgy, speak "ful sik english" and bring a cuz/bro/mate or 20, reevaluate the situation and take necessary action. (leave, or call up a few mates of your own) The trading post, as great a publication as it is, has a very diverse readership, and a great percentage of those people aren't as honest as you are.

I have a friend who is a distributor for wiseco products... His name is Kristof Kazmer and his email address is: [email protected] RB25 is RRP$1650... He's quoted me $1550, but I believe GTS-t VSPEC can get them even cheaper. I was actually going to ask him to get me a set of RB26 87mm Wiseco pistons when I had all the other internal parts I needed.

There's this thread on an American forum where a couple of Aussies are posting horror stories about how dangerous Australia is with it's Funnel Webs, Redback, Fierce Snakes, Box Jellyfish, Blue ringed Octopus, etc etc, and the Americans are falling over themselves going: and One Aussie mentions "drop bears", and all the other Aussies agree... "They're the nastiest of them ALL!!!" ........ and this is a quote from two of the Americans I have never laughed so hard in my life!!!!!!!!

No worries mate... If you had suspicions, you should have asked us!!! We'd have told you and it could have been another bargaining tool for you to get the price even lower! Anyway... It looks great, and the only differences between Series 2 and Series 3 are the headlights (which are already there), the front lip (about $900 from Nissan) and the red seat inserts (who cares?)... So there really isn't much to it If it's got a build date of 1997, it must be the very very VERY last of the Series 2s Can I ask whether or not you checked whether the engine number matched with the compliance plate/tag on the firewall? (can't remember where it's been stamped) And whether you checked the paint code matched the car? Another thing to watch out for is that the BLUE NISSAN Build Plate should have the text PRINTED on... NOT ENGRAVED... If it is engraved, it's fake... Japanese theives have gotten their hands on these plates and are engraving their own which they whack on stolen cars... I've looked at too many import cars than I'd care to remember that have had the "dodgy-habib" wand waved over them, and I'd hate to see a fellow enthusiast get burnt... It always pays to keep your emotions in check and be objective about things, especially when a STUNNING PURPLE R33 GTR is staring you in the face p.s. The car looks awesome -

Ummm... I'm really not sure how to break this to you mate................ Ummmmm..... ........................... that's not a 1997 Series 3. It has Xenon headlights, but it doesn't have the Series 3 front lip, or red seat inserts. It's either a 1995 or 1996 with Xenon headlights. Does it have a passenger airbag, rough, raised console trim and series 2 steering wheel? If so, then it's most probably a 1996... If not, it's a 1995... I sure hope you didn't pay Series 3 prices for it -

Of course!!! The day where it stops being fun, and starts being taken seriously is the day that it has to stop. We seriously couldn't stop laughing for about half an hour  Well done guys  We were planning revenge, but then decided that if we did a similar thing and drove out west, we'd get out of the car, own your cars, then run back to find our car stolen! :uh-huh: :bahaha: :bahaha: :bahaha:

Steve, forged Wiseco pistons will handle 1.5-1.6 bar boost without breaking a sweat... They're cheap and perfect for you... I'm probably going to use the same pistons. As for the compression ratio, the rule you should be following is "if at all possible, don't drop the compression ratio". With good tuning, and keeping detonation at bay, there is absolutely NO reason why you couldn't keep the standard compression ratio. With your setup, I can see absolutely no reason to drop the compression ratio.
