  1. +1 for not getting irridiums. in my opinion they aren't worth the extra money. if you just get new plugs (even if you do get iridiums) that don't have -11 on the end of the part number then they should be pregapped to 0.8mm.
  2. oh i'm not saying that anyone should go a 3" on a NA skyline because i agree that it is stupid, and the gains made at high rpm are more than outweighed by the losses at low rpm. i misinterpreted your post a bit. when you said "in a NA 2.5 you'd be going backwards anyway" i thought you were meaning a 2.5" exhaust
  3. what battery usage profile do you have it set to? set it to battery save mode and then it will turn off data after half an hour or so. my motorolla dext uses about 10% battery overnight.
  4. yes but you have to remember that half of the older V8's came with the same exhaust size as the 6 cylinders in the range.
  5. just something to consider, selling your car and buying a GT-T will be cheaper than turboing your NA, and you will have the benfit of (depending on the model of your r34) bigger brakes, stronger gearbox and LSD
  6. depends on what sort of thing you are talking about. a lot of stuff is while some stuff isn't. some parts will fit any of the RB engines, while others will be specific to what series engine you have (so if you have a series 2 rb25 then parts from a series 1 won't fit straight on, such as coil packs)
  7. be a myth that it would sieze up. i have a VH commodore that was sitting out in the weather under a tree for 3 years or more and was never started. new battery, bit of fuel down the carby and it started straight up. if you can start it every month or 2 just to run the aircon to prevent any seals/o-rings drying out is worth while, other than that, not much to do. if you are worried about flat spots on tyres, simply roll the car forwards a few inches in either direction after a month or 2.
  8. i was just looking at the ECV and how you are supposed to fit it. it says to fit it after the cat, however fitting it directly after the centre muffler will give better results as it will be forcing more air into the baffle of the muffler (like the pipes you can stick into cannons to make the exhaust quieter). you could then drill some holes in it to allow a bit better airflow through it when closed and still have decent noise attenuation.
  9. might not have been breaking into the car to steal the car, just stuff from in the car. or may have simply wanted to smash the window cause they are dicks
  10. a lot of apps that are killed by task killer simply start straight back up after they are closed. i think some task killers keep them permanently closed, but to do this they have to stay running in the background. i have a performance manager on my phone (was part of the 2.1 rom i installed). it shows the RAM and CPU usage of each app. there are plenty using 5 or 6mb of RAM but 0% CPU. system at idle with widgets on screen and plenty of background apps currently running is about 2%
  11. either get a turbo one or if you want to go NA get a commodore/falcon. perfect for day to day driving, costs bugger all to fix, insurance is cheap, and probably faster than the NA as well, and if it's adult passengers you are carrying, it will fit them in more comfortably as well as the extra torque will handle the extra weight without a worry.
  12. depending on where the hole is (and size) it is probably fine as long as the corners of the cut are nice and rounded (such as if the corners were done with a drill and then just straight cuts between the holes) so that there isn't a sharp corner for a crack to start. if you have the piece that was cut out to get welded back in would be the best option though.
  13. hahahaha, if they wanted to be realistic they could have z32 owners parked on the side of the track with an engine crane pulling the engine out
  14. there is no point having it. it can slow things down. unlike a windows computer system, when apps are running in the background they are idle. they don't take up any processor speed. if you kill required background apps that are used by other apps then when you use that app it will go slow while it opens up the closed app, or it will not work. also having an app running all the time to keep other apps closed is somewhat counter productive.
  15. the colder the plug the quicker they foul up and make it run poorly. if you just get copper plugs in 6's now it will only cost you about $30 for the set, then change them every 5,000 to 10,000kms (so either every oil change or every second oil change), then you can just change them when you do plan to run more boost, but realistically, while you are on the stock turbo 6's will be fine no matter what boost you run.
  16. the new series 2 commodore is capable of running up to E85 ethanol blend and i dare say that ford will follow suit with the falcon, so once you see more of these cars on the road then you will see more ethanol blend fuels around the place.
  17. series 2 only gets complicated if fitting the headlights/bonnet. the bar itself is still the same.
  18. pretty sure it actually turns off at 4500rpm. it turns on at 1500rpm. or is it the other way round? i can't remember
  19. i'd just go 6's unless you are running pretty high boost (over 15psi)
  20. as tony said, jetvd, co pilot, ebuddy and camera 360. all the apps i use are: apn droid (for turning off data to save battery) 3g watchdog ebuddy facebook trapster (tells you where speed cameras are) mileage (tracks fuel usage/economy) ringdroid (can cut bits out of mp3's to make ring tones) calculator (my 2.1 ROM i installed didn't have a calulator) compass (so i had a compass) OI shopping list (shopping list app) K9 mail (was having issues with the stock email app so got this one) speedtest (speedtest.net app for android) flashlight (torch app) dictionary.com (good app for if you like doing crosswords) mytracks (gps app that uses google maps but will cache them if you don't have data connected) titanium backup (app backup) my backup (data backup) estrong file explorer astro file manager IMDB (internet movie database app. good for finding out actors names and what else they have been in if you just can't remember) barcode scanner (good for getting apps of the computer if they aren't in market) and a few games such as hangman and solitaire
  21. i also think there is a bit of a difference between 1 person getting one and a whole shipment coming in for sale. would be interesting to know if it's one of those silly laws where it's illegal to sell or use the item in australia but not illegal to own.
  22. ahahaha, yeah, seeing a heap or r32 gtr's on the side of the track from oil starvation would be funny. or driving behind gts-t/gtt's and seeing a buff of dust as the stock turbo lets go would also be amusing.
  23. there could be an issue with the torque converter, or even the ECU for the gearbox. one thing i did notice is that you are running heat range 5 plugs. for a turbo car you are better off running heat range 6. running the 5's you may be getting a lot of pinging and the ecu could be backing off the timing and therefore making it feel slow.
  24. won't be fuel pump otherwise it would get worse above 5400rpm. the popping/flat spot can be caused by 2 things. 1 will be weak coils or spark plugs. also about that rpm (4500) the VCT changes over. this can cause a bit of a flat spot
  25. find out why you have such a small amount of vaccum at idle. sounds like you have a massive leak and it is probably letting out a hell of a lot of air when on boost so it will be running super rich.
