  3. due for service and dyno now, but clutch is being fitted so I have to bed that in for 300k's before I put it on the rollers, so I spose I can wait another week or 2 before doing oil and filters? and yeah I know turbo timers are overated but I have it set to 30 seconds only and as my garage is locked up at night I usually leave my keys in ignition, hence my screwup the car was hot and pinging under light acceleration on mny way out the driveway, a bit of low speed crusing and temps dropped back to normal (my car seems to run quite hot on idle or in traffic at the best of times) cheers, for the piece of mind tho guys, I was a little concerned that there would be potential issues with overcooking sensors and turbo oil seals etc...

Last night I popped out to Quix at about 10:30pm and when I got home and put my car in the garage I forgot to turn off the ignition and my car was idling in my garage until 6:30am Usually I just turn ignition off and my turb timer shuts her down after 30secs-1min, but not last night... It got hot but didnt boil (was pining this morning and running rough) the garage was locked up so it was sucking down some nasty fumes all night, the entire car was hot aswel, ie the transmission tunnel etc. so, anyone know if this is a realy bad no no and am I likely to have major problems. she also drank about $30-$40 of fuel cheers for any advise on this one
  5. Thanks for the reply Duncan, gives me some more info to digest and research to do, I think I will get my transfer case checked out while my clutch is fitted to be confident in using one of these

Ordered my 'full monty' today, Jim is a true gentleman, realy carefull about his work and the infomation he supplies to his customers and explains everthing in detail, from the reports on the forum I have seen about the alternative clutches and the fact that Jim's product is so well supported by a local small buisness trader and the car enthusiest community I simply couldnt spend my money else where. I have not driven on my new Jim Berry clutch yet but am happy with the service and time Jim has already put in with my purchace. I'll let you all know if I have any problem with 7k rpm clutch dumps cheers EDIT: Have my car back and driving on my full monty and all I can say is WOW! Its in run in stage at the moment so no launching, but I can report that the pedal is lighter than stock and altho it is a bit on or off in terms of the clutch hooking up, its not a real pain for me to drive. However I think it might be a bit much for the wife to trundle to the shops with. Awesome clutch

Interestingly there is a little debate atm as to whether my car has stock ceramic turbines (and indeed stock dumps) Of the 2 tuners I have used both have commented that my turbos are slow to spool and much louder than stock turbos, and both have suggested they are possibly steel wheel busshed bearing jobies or atleast possibly but until identified have only been running .9 bar, the car also has tuned length front pipe and altho obscured but all the crap in the way the dumps look fatter than standard, I'll have another look to see if I can tell if they are cast or not, Is there an easy way to identify the turbos without ripping my engine apart? the exaust side is on the cards but I was hoping to get some more thrills buy doing the easy stuff first..

I spose that stands to reason, my tuner tells me that with stock cams they make most improvements by dialing in the intake and the exaust is not so impressive but lowers the spool time.. how many more hours is dialing in some cams going to take? oh, and if I take off my piping to get to the dumps I'm going to replace manifolds, turbines and dumps. so not willing to do dumps alone atm.
  11. looks like my PFC has landed in melbourne and should be in my hands tomorrow morning It will be fitted along with some cam gears and a high flow cat and put on the dyno for a mild power increase, other mods on the car include: Nizmo cooler Pods 3" from the dumps back running .9bar my question is, seeing drop in cams can be had for around $650 a pair these days is it worth dropping some in and spending a little more time on the dyno while my car is still running stock bottom end, stock turbines manifolds and dumps? cheers for any suggestions

  18. are there any problems using wheel spacers on a r32 GTR so as to fill the guards with 18x9 +40? I believe they are a gtst wheel but aslong as it doesnt affect the handling or dynamics of the car is it an ok thing to do? cheers

  20. grab a clean suzuki swift GTi and hold out a little while for the skyline, they are not cheap to insure and maintain especially for young drivers. you will have plenty of fun in the GTi aswel cheers

  22. ummm, is it realy possible to compare gtr and gtst??? they are completly different in terms of the intended purpose.

Hey Mat, I'm pretty interested in these and have a set (on my car) of stock R32 turbs in perfect nick, I'll also be interested in the bosch 044 you have in your sig and I'll need some 550cc injectors if you have any. car will be in for a tune at MPC shortly so if somthing can be worked out I can whip the turbos off then PM me a price if your keen cheers
