  1. I would insert a gif of aquaman in justice league saying "maaahhh maaan!" But couldn't find it Lol!
  2. Oem is fine I believe. Sturdy bit of kit but with an 800 bhp machine with all that work is it not worth putting the ARP one in?
  3. Howdoo.. do you run rightfootdown YouTube channel perchance? Give Dave at gtrshop a shout he will have one on shelves for you!
  4. Turbo Manifold Ext Wastegate Downpipe Custom Oil and water lines Possibly fuel pump upgrade Injectors It's a bit more than just "done" heh! and nearly everyone who fits one says yeah they are great but they don't transform it in the low and midrange. It's mildly better in those areas agreed and higher up power is better butnot everyone wants to go that route. I had a gtx3582r sat there when I bought my 32gtr but decided to stay on the twins altho mainly that was nostalgia and keeping the stock layout. I agree tho it's a serious way to improve all over but it's also £££
  5. Yep sorry my wording is wrong I know it's for the valve timing not ign timing lol. I don't won't if ill be seeing radical adjustments off a couple of extra degrees of cam timing tho? Can you give any thoughts?
  6. Just checked your graph out too what boost are you running? Mate running 1.2 currently it's quick but like your graph there up until 4500 it's a bit dull heh It's going back in a week or two for 1.6 bar boost and some adjustable pulleys to help advance ign a touch. It's not going to radically change it before 4500 but it'll help.. that's where the nos will make it more amusing heh. I've heard at 1.6 bar these turbos are just silly making 600+ and some ppl have reported 700 so they seem like good hard working turbos overall. I do miss that low down response tho. It does seem clear at some point to get top mount... a gen2 gtx3582r or precision 6266 which is the turbo everyone seems to jump on for a gtr but I wonder how a gtx3076r would be because I had one on my ol gtst and it was silly responsive down low and the new ones make 550hp+ I think after that for pure response it's an e85 setup or just look into an rb30 for end grunt. Just saturday morning musings lol...
  7. Thought I'd weigh in here my mate has got fully forged engine.. still a 2.6 with new crank forged pistons and rods. Tomei ponscams and 1.8mm head gasket. All supporting work and -5 turbos Hes currently limited to 6800rpm and 1.2 bar (small boost leak currently too so less than that) As stated below 4-4500 there ain't much going on in fact it's winding him up now. However the tuner said it's quite a mild tune to let him get used to it and limited rpm cos fresh engine build. He said there's lots to go yet... including 1.6 bar boost He got some adjustable cams to go in to advance ign a couple degrees but even with that and a map tune and more boost he will still be at the 4000 to 4500 rpm range if I'm lucky. So to that end hes going with nitrous to help the car in that low and mid range so it takes off like a 3ltr twin turbo diesel taxi lol. Yep he could go top mount.. New big turbos are mental.. I love em but he wants to keep the twins setup and he got tired of manifolds cracking on him with his gtst... maybe down the line but by then a 35 gtr engine will prob be affordable or the car itself lol! In the meantime I think nitrous is a good way to go for immediate shunt and power and then at 5000 let the turbos do the work. All told with 1.6 bar the car will see about 600+ bhp so that's pretty crazy then 80bhp nos on top is gonna make things rather cartoony lol. I've heard ppl scoff.. "uhh nitrous is fake power" ...cant stand that rubbish personally.. if it's installed right and connected up and ecu controlled it's every bit a part of the car as anything else and it's a great way to get rapid power. Just our 2 pence:) Ant
  8. Hey guys just thought I'd share this little walk round video.. I purchased some of these nismo r32gtr seat covers.. been after them for years now. I'll try and do a fitting video and final result video for my channel in the near future! If anyone has fitted these or has any notes feel free to share with me I'll appreciate it hugely! Ta Ant Uk
  9. Kelford or a set of tomei I reckon will work a treat! That's gonna be a monster build and the 3.4 should give some good low down punch before that tub starts working hard. Jeez and I'm happy with mine on -5 at 1.2 bar lol (altho it goes back soon for 1.6 and nitrous to help spool lol)
  10. Ah I'm sorry I just seen that it's for the vq model whereas I was on about the rb engines lol. However I would say a decat is the key and decent exhaust and itll roar.. perhaps a butterfly in the decat that can be opened and closed so essentially you can make it straight through or tone it down for residential areas. So jealous of you lot over in that side of the world heh! Would love to get my family and me out there!
  11. Mines downpipe Hks "silent" power Decat Then go do a tunnel run Your welcome
  12. Couldn't say for you chaps on that side of the world but in uk about £800-£1000 for the ecu 2nd hand. New about £1200 with iat sensor & mac boost control solenoid ..ish.
  13. I've run 3 link g4 on three different skylines including my current 32gtr and been super happy with those. Solid boost control, improved driving, no AFMs (MAF over there?) and improved mpg. Love em personally.
  14. hi i'm going to be fitting 87mm mahle pistons to my own block - i just wanted to ask how your car is running now after 1000km and i'm guessing a remap too? just wondering as this seems to make sense but wanted to see if theres been any issues? I cant see how personally.. I read a 2.5mm washer is enough to 'lift' the oil jet (squirter?) so it clears the piston skirt? ta ant
  15. hey all started this a while back - got to the stage where its starting to come together now. I've put the model down for the moment to finish another project (i tend to have 3 or four on the go lol!) but here's a few pics of the wireframes as i were building it and the renders as it stands in a studio environment... some WIP wires... some renders... I'd like to do a nice render of it at some point with a bit of compositing fun (maybe animate some cg water splashing across it or something daft and nice slick slow motion shots heh) but i did a little compositing test on my driveway... its not perfect but it was fun to do
  16. hi mate your ad is quite old but what the hell i'll try heh! I've got a set of tomei procam 260/9.25mm camshafts sat at home and been told i need lifters & valve springs for the cams. Are these still for sale as i 'think' they would be perfect for my setup? I'm based in the uk but genuinely looking for these parts and have cash waiting let me know ta ant northwest/UK [email protected]
  17. hi mate i'm based in the uk - I've just picked up a set of tomei procams 260/9.25mm lift. I really wish i'd seen this ad sooner as those cams and springs at that price is very good. I'm chasing the valve springs and solid lifters as apparently i will need those for my procams. however getting hold of the springs here in the uk has been a monumental pain in the proverbial. I know your selling as a package but you wouldn't be interested in splitting the parts would you as i'd be very keen on the springs if they will suit my application? thanks ant north west area of UK/england
  18. hey all well I simplified my life a little from the above post, removed the oil cooler and just decided to have the oil temp sensor and oil pressor sensor fitted. Alot of this was down to me worrying about having 2 sandwich plates so now I just use an rb20 oil modene and the sandwich plate for the sensors. I have a sandwich plate which will take -8AN lines and 2 senders so down the line I might fit a small oil cooler off the modene in place of the current plate I have now. anyway that all said it ran me back and to work numerous times for a good couple of months without issue. Then I finally got a long wkend off to take it down to cambridgeshire/UK for mapping. There was a few niggles over the day - a dodgy CAS, needing some cooler plugs and beading my intercooler pipes but once that was all done, it seemed to go quite smoothly. Martin estimates my car is making a solid 450bhp @ 1.4 bar. a small road tuning clip - I was so impressed at this point and it was only making actuator pressure 1bar and the ign timing hadn't been altered yet either! this video has enraged a few ppl who've seen it - ghetto dyno (jack car up, load up the wheels with the brakes as you make boost) but it was necessary as by this point we'd been out numerous times to the mways to make power and with it being a 20min trip from the workshop to said mway each time it mounts up! just a close up of the boost gauge - love the way it rips through the boost heh! the car is quite simply a feckin time machine now! It makes power so easily its head spinning! The turbo as I'm sure some of you will vouch just sounds like a fighter jet! Off boost on city driving its really easy and drives itself mostly. In 3rd gear on full chat it can lose traction with the power and its only just putting it down on the ground! Martin also set me up with a high/low boost button so 1bar low and 1.4bar high. I also have launch control setup too which is a hoot! future plans - I'm looking to put some bigger top feed injectors in, a dual fed rail, a 5bar map sensor and a bosch044 pump, and I should be able to make 1.8bar of boost & 550bhp with any luck which will be truly frightening which it is now tbh! I must be mad! Gonna need some thicker tyres, arch rolling and camber sorting on the rear methinks or I'll never lay that power down heh! for anyone thinkin of doing this conversion
  19. hey guys I know I kinda bombed this thread a little with all of my nonsense (sorry about that) but I just wanted to show that fitting these turbos is WELL worth every effort - it truly is THE turbo for the skyline! I went with top mount in the end and external wastegate (plumbed back to downpipe). also fitted greddy gtr style plenum and a Q45 afm. The vehicle is an entirely different animal. I dropped a ferrari 599 yday through 3rd n 4th and didn't have it fully planted. I've got the car setup with the link G4 ecu which is just a phenomenal piece of kit. Martin Battye who mapped it estimates 450bhp but the way it comes in and throws you in the seat is something you never get tired of. I've had to have it setup with a low boost and high boost button which is configured through my aircon button (redundant cos aircon is removed). Its really driveable on low boost making 1bar but press the button and it hops to 1.4 bar and spools the tub up much faster. It really is insane the difference in the two settings. I've also got launch control configured which arms if your stopped and the clutch is dipped and you floor the pedal... awesome fun (tho dont use it much heh!) so I can indeed confirm - these turbos are just amazing - if you can do it then it'll make you fall in love with your skyline all over again I wrote a writeup on skylineowners.com here... there's a few little youtube vids and pics too... my 33gtst with top mount GT3076R - mapped!
  20. Quick update to this - its been running and on the road for a few weeks pottering to work n back just fine. However the 2 sandwich plates thing doesn't seem to be the best idea ever done despite ppl saying its fine and plenty people run cars this way. The oil seems to be leaking out from somewhere around the plates or the oil filter and I cant seem to fathom out where exactly. Fortunately it decided to do this in the garage and not at 80mph down the motorway to work. I need to jack it up and give it a good looking over but tbh with having the lurgy in the last week, working 14hour days since oooo september and the foot of snow that landed on the country I dont think its worth me bothering with it just yet or panicking too much heh another thing I noticed is fairly high oil pressure of about 100psi more often than not - I can understand in the first 15-20 mins of driving and it does indeed drop to about 60psi if the car is idling. If I accelerate again or pick up speed the oil pressure climbs back to about 80-90psi doing about 70-80mph. Does that sound quite high to some folks at all? I'm wondering if its down to my -8AN oil lines for my cooler being too thin possibly so I'm gonna size them up to -10AN instead and see how it goes.
  21. hi guys I've been working on my top mount conversion. At present I ditched the original oil filter housing as I wanted to tap a sender into the block but my housing blocks it off. I placed two sandwich plates on the block and the oil filter on that. The first plate was a greddy one and holds 2 oil temp senders and an oil pressure sender. The second is a mocal and holds my oil lines which are 3/4" UNF fittings with -8AN aeroquip hose. pics below of my process... removed this original oil filter housing.. its too big and I wanted to reduce the amount of water lines beneath too... offering up the two plates... mocal 19 row oil cooler... 3/4" UNF fittings push on type... the items in situ and oil lines connected... my water line bypassing the now missing oil filter housing... all was working well for a few weeks ..or so I thought. Basically I came out to the car in the garage and it had spilled its guts of oil all over the floor. I felt about and noticed that the oil filter was sopping underneath. It seemed to be leaking about a few places I think whats happening is that the oil line are rather close to the engine mount. As the engine moves its acting against the lines which act like a breaker bar and effectively rotates the sandwich plates causing the oil to leak out. I think its compounded by the smallish oil lines. I've been told -10 is the way to go to lower pressure a touch which is quite high generally. so my plan now is to lose one of the plates as I've been told 2 is asking for trouble. Fit an RB20 oil filter housing which is smaller and wont block the 12mm hole on the engine. I can then run the one plate off the oil filter housing for my lines and the 2 senders off that and tap an oil temp sender into the block. upside of this is the oil filter housing will keep the lines away from the engine mount too and the rb20 oil filter housing is held on by 4 bolts and a gasket not one screw on fitting so thats got to be better than what I currently have esp. seeing as the original never leaked previously in 2 years of driving. I've been chasing one of these rb20 housings for a while but had no luck over here. I've seen this but its in nz and I cant get in touch as the site seems quite oriented to just selling to nz owners http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Nissan/Engines/auction-341510043.htm so simple question is does anyone have one for an rb20 and are they willing to sell it cheap to a uk owner? I'll chuck some extra $ in for beers too oh and if anyone has any suggestions on my oil cooler setup feel free to comment. Its really frazzled my brain this bit and I just want it sorting out so I can get it mapped... oh and btw this is my build... so you can see I'm quite excited about getting it up n running properly lol (btw I have alot of you guys on here to thank for the advice shared whilst I put this little lot together so thankyou!) ant ps sorry for huge post! just wanna be clear what I'm doing.
