  1. My Bora is AWD but predominantly FWD until shit gets real. Over the last few months, theres been noises coming from front drivers wheel when turning at low speed. I don't think this is a CV joint! I've heard a million CV joints go and this sounds and behaves a little differently. While a blown CV makes a bit of a 'click' noise, this sounds like a 'boing' noise. If you were to pull the sway bar away from the chassis and let it go, it would 'boing' (or bounce) against the chassis - thats what this sounds like. Also, this morning I had the car on lock and reversing and there was less noise (as opposed to more if a CV is gone). I either can't hear it, or its not there are higher speeds (10/15kph+.) It also doesn't seem to happen on all surfaces, its really bad in the polished concrete car park at work, but less so on the pavers at home but maybe this is simply due to a lack of traction. Does this sound like anything in particular? What should I be looking at if I jack it up? Or maybe I use ramps so the suspension is compressed? Thanks in advance. C
  2. Aha! Its a setting "can view who gave reputation" - i didn't know it existed. I have enabled that for members and i'll work through other groups also.
  3. Sorry @jmknights93 I can't see the issues. Can you either annotate or explain?
  4. Should this be topic/forum based like the DIY section? A topic or two that contains just posts of links? Users could reply with a new link and then whoever has access to the first post can update it as we go?
  5. Can you share some screens? I tested it for days with the admins and it was fine.
  6. Awesome. Thanks guys! I have another flush in there for the week and next weekend i'll be draining for a coolant refill. Thanks!
  7. Hi Shane, A lot of the content is being rebuilt after the upgrade. Theres still some to go so there may be missing attachments and images for a little while yet. Christian
  8. Can those of you having image duplication issues - what theme are you using? Can you test using the default theme?
  9. So much yes! We tried a wiki a few years ago but there was not much energy in the people who wanted to contribute. I would love this and would see it in a similar light to the DIY thread with a list of all the best DIY threads.
  10. I've been doing that but with a rag. When it comes to the top I just dip the rag in and it gets the floating bits. Will the little bits of oil have an adverse affect to my coolant?
  11. Silly title, I know but I couldn't come up with a better one. Late last year the oil cooler in my Bora let go and it sucked all 5L of engine oil into my cooling system. I've since replaced the cooler, thermostat, thermostat housing, temp sensor and a few other little bits and pieces. It appears my temp sensor was dead and my car would never go over 90 degrees no matter how hot it was (maybe a factor in the oil cooler going.) The cooling system has been flushed 8 times now, (3 by a mechanic who I thought he was going to pressure flush it but he only did the same as me which is to use a flushing additive and run it for a few hours.) The cooling system works beautifully, its only had water and additive in it since its been running again and it never gets hot and flow is fine. (I can view temp on my climate control interface and I can't get it over ~85). It is definitely not blocked anywhere but every flush I do reveals tiny little globules of oil in the expansion tank. There must be on miniscule bits of oil in there now and I'm not totally sure that I need to keep flushing it. VW coolant is expensive and I'm only using VW approved additives and oils as the old girl needs all the love she can get. I don't want to add the coolant only to find its been destroyed by any remaining oil. So, a few questions here; Can I add coolant now? How can I get all the little bits of oil out? Should I change my radiator? Thanks guys!
  12. Regarding the login issue, can you clear all cookies for SAU and try again?
  13. @Tugster376 True.

  14. OK, Database server was out of space. I've just fixed the problem. It should be fine now can you let me know if it happens again?
  15. Nutso. 4.1L VR38 powered 86. This is the power the 86 should have had from the start. More > http://www.streetfx.com.au/streetfx-wtf86-worlds-first-toyota-86-powered-by-a-4-1l-hks-gt1000-r35-gtr-engine/
  16. Is this happening on older posts (older than last monday) or new posts?
  17. I know, I'm sorry! Hopefully not much longer.
  18. So the washer bottle was easy to fix, the hose had come off the nipple for the jets... How embarrassment.
  19. One of the issues we're battling with atm that we're waiting for support on is that the site was supposed to "rebuild" old posts to make them display in the new format but our rebuilding task keeps running into problems. So, these will definitely be updated soon, I just dont have an ETA.
