  1. Yeah. Get a full 3-3.5" exhaust (turbo back) and high flow the turbo. Should help a bit. But then it is all in the tune. No problem having a pod AFAIK as long as the rest of the intake is stock and the pod is in a sealed box. We can only have 1 mod for the intake I believe... so if you are looking at an intercooler kit, forget the pod.
  2. I thought you were going to ask "one question" Lachlan. My filter is an Amsoil Nanofibre filter which I find to be quite good. Most of the pink ones are from a general service and are throw away items. Colors don't make a difference at all, but wha the filter is comprised of makes ALL the difference
  3. The M is the same as the V in that to replace the filter, you need to remove the airbox. Not like it takes long or is difficult, but that Z33 airbox looks much more logical to me!
  4. ... but my poor, delicate hands!
  5. Good to hear TJ. Nothing worse than seeing rust on a nice car
  6. Oi! Cheeky. So where were you in June last year? I would do the work myself, but since I am mechanically semi-retarded, it is probably best that I don't
  7. Bit late with this, but I changed the 40mm tube for 50mm of the same tube. No noticeable difference in performance... but a definite difference in install effort! THIS is the pond hose that I used due to the smooth slippery inner wall (thus less drag/turbulence). Well, so say it put up a fight is an understatement! Firstly it was clamped to the outside of the connecting point on the bottom of the airbox (after some shaving), and then clamped to the outside of the CAI funnel, which was fine. Finding the optimum length of 50mm hose which would allow me to place the funnel in the gab in the front bar WITHOUT popping the damn airbox out of it's mounts was another thing altogether. Even when I cut the hose to the right length, it had to be wrestled into place. Still pushes against the front bar! My recommendation is to stick with 40mm if you are using that pond hose. No performance gains from 40mm to 50mm.
  8. Linky HERE You would think it would be that easy wouldn't you? Suuuuuuure. Maybe you could move it to the other side Scotty?
  9. Hate to ask an obvious question, but are you using a decent quality 98 fuel? These cars NEED to run on 98 as a minimum and if you are not already using them, I would suggest that you stick to BP Ultimate, Mobil Synergy 8000 or Shell Vpower. and yes, the dump can certainly come off without removing the engine... so can the turbo for that matter.
  10. Why not try Northshore Prestige? I am sure they would have one lying around.
  11. hmm... so close, yet so far. I too was in Frankston on Sunday briefly. There are a few C34's getting around near Frankston (1 S1, 3 S2's and a 260RS off the top of my head), but I guess they are not on these boards. Still haven't been spotted after 2.5years of owning an M35!!
  12. and for Z33
  13. Nice work man! Would love a step by step to remove the cluster (I have found I can damage stuff easily ) I too like my orange lights, but the one behind the gear display has gone out and need to be replaced.
  14. Works the same way. Much nicer if you ask me.
  15. I believe that Repco sell Thule roof racks. Once you have the part number, take it to a Repco. Remember that each Repco store price items independently, so if you don't like the first quote, try another store.
  16. Nah man, I think he means the one's that run along the lower part of the doors. They should also just be glued on... although I do not know this for sure.
  17. There is a standard cat in the front pipe from what I can gather.... although my exhaust contained six of the buggers (including the dump), so maybe I am not the best knowledge source for this one.
  18. I believe that the VQ35DE uses just under 5L and the VQ25DET uses 5L.... so I would say that 5L would be good. You could get away with 4L (I have in mine, once), but you should be safe with 5L. *EDIT* Just double checked the G35 manual, 4.7L when changing oil & filter.
  19. Very nice Andrew. Looking very promising indeed. So are these going to bolt up to the standard front pipe or are they going to include a front pipe/cat and bolt up to the cat-back exhaust? How about bolting up to an 80mm front pipe? Can't see them flowing much more than the OE dump though... Just kidding
  20. Yep. Looks good. Especially the black surrounds in the headlights I see the clip points for roof racks... as per normal. They are reflectors that go up either side of the rear window.
  21. +1 Those bowsers are pretty difficult to understand, eh Craig?
  22. Sorry Nick. All RS/RX's. No wait! I believe there is one other AR-X.
