  1. What is the difference between wireless G and N?
  2. You'll probably want to keep it for when GTA IV comes out next month!
  3. I highly recommend one of Tom Green's creations. Very original! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VX36cwpL4a8
  4. I'm probably wrong but they kinda look like Bee-R rims.
  5. One of the best if not the best Australian drama I have ever watched. Only gripe is that they portray Carl Williams as a complete drongo which makes it a tad comical.
  6. The current pricing (for importing) is mostly because of the strong Australian dollar. A lot of cars at auction will reflect this, not just the R34 GTR's.
  7. They probably took it apart for the same reason Mines, HKS and other tuning houses have. Just a guess!
  8. I had a Pulsar SSS before my R33 turbo. I'd have to say that the SSS was more of a fun car due to its peaky engine and light weight. The Skyline (turbo) on the other hand demands so much more respect as you can get in trouble quickly. Never been in a NA Skyline so I wouldn't exactly know how they perform. But Skylines are a heavy car and I could easily see a Pulsar SSS out running it if that is your thing. At the end of the day though, if you really want a Skyline, then just get one!
  9. The scanned article was posted up about a month ago.
  10. Is this Australian or Jap? Where did your father get this from?
  11. The wheels won't spin if you don't put your foot down. Same with any other car.
  12. SR has a more sudden surge of power. As said, the RB is much smoother. I think a lot of people mistake the feeling of torque in the SR's with how light the Silvia's are. Try putting the SR into a Skyline. It makes a world of difference.
  13. The S15 feels roomier in the front compared to the R33.
  14. Get a full service at an import mechanic when you get it. Have a compression test done if it already hasn't had one done. Parts aren't too expensive. Some local cars cost more to run. R33's are pretty reliable and robust. I haven't had one problem with mine and I've had it for a year now. Just look out for heavy mods as this implies abuse. Stock is the best way to go. Lastly, series II are nicer than the series I and hold their value better.
  15. In general.... You'll pay more from a dealer as they have to mark up prices to cover their overheads. Cars coming from a dealer aren't any less prone to abuse or things going wrong. They will use the cheapest oils, parts etc they can to make more profit. On the other hand, private sellers would be more likely to look after their cars as they invest in its drivability. This includes mechanical inspections, services, fixing any problems etc. If you are a little mechanically minded then you shouldn't have a problem. Skylines are fairly robust. Try to avoid heavily modified ones and buy one off an enthusiast that shows evidence of looking after. 1. Look at the steering wheel and gauge the condition of it. It will give you some indication of the mileage. 2. Pretty much. It's an import. 3. Dyno tune is only needed if you are modding it. Costs vary. 4. Not really. They will do a general inspection, but you could do this yourself. They make no guarantees on anything. 5. Take the rego down and see if it has had any previous owners by contacting the RTA. 6. Too pricey, has problems, lack of interest etc etc. Could be any host of reasons. 7. No safer at all. (read first two paragraphs) 8. Only series II was made in '96 to '98. Expect to pay $15,000 upwards for a good condition one. More for a sunroof. 9. 4 doors are cheaper. Coupes are around $22k+. The norm is $24-$25k. 10. No idea. Good luck!
  16. I'm not taking this Best motoring too seriously. It seemed to me the GTR, pulled wide and let the Gallardo go past at the end.... my thinking is that the Japanese car makers use this as a publicity exercise to gain interest. Secondly, those Porsche's weren't being driven to their potential. Entertaining vid, but nothing to pass judgement on.
  17. Can anyone definately confirm if the Lexus LF-A is going to be sold in Australia?
  18. How many km's? Do you have service books?
  19. I don't know if I can answer your question directly, but I got a small whining noise that seems to come from the gear box when I changed the timing belt to a Gates blue one.
  20. I should have asked whether the RB25DET has VVT, as I thought all that NEO is is just VVT (like VTEC) anyway. Take the R33 up to 5,500rpm and there is a nice kick. I assume this is the VVT coming in. Is that right?
  21. I've had the same problem on a few really hot days before (40+ degrees). Since using V Power Racing I've noticed this doesn't occur as often though.
  22. I've driven both. The engines respond differently. The SR20DET seems to have more low down torque and usually gets off the mark a fraction of a second quicker, but this is purely down to the weight advantage. The RB25DET is superior at mid to top end rev range. *They both consume about the same amount of fuel believe it or not. In the end though, if you want to modify the S15 then use it for drifting as it's not the best planted car going around, especially in the wet. The Skyline is a more solid car all over and gives greater driver confidence. S15 has no ABS. Not sure if JDM S15 came with HICAS though? Looks wise, the S15 looks sleek. The R34 looks tough. Go for a test drive of both and decide. If you still can't decide after taking them for a drive, then just get a GTR because it is superior to both.
  23. I don't know for sure, but if you look close enough at the poster, it shares the same style C pillar with the R35 GTR. I can't make out whether it has the trade mark stove plates though.
  24. From a commercial advertising perspective, bringing in an R35 GTR will be one of the cheapest & greatest exposure ventures a company could make. The amount of attention & coverage from people, tv, papers and general press will be enormous for Donut King. Generating the same exposure by conventional means would have cost them millions in advertising. Very smart Let's just hope they don't stack it because then they will be f**ked!
  25. Anyone else notice the GTR poster in the background (above GTR) with different body kit? Maybe a hint of what is to come?
