CEFIROZ.COM - Contributors required!
someonestolecc replied to someonestolecc's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Thanks Res. Oh yeah.. cefiroz.com -
Welcome all welcome all. Struck by the lack of cefiro resource sites in Australia I decided to make my own. It's still being developed (layout and user management being the 2 biggest issues). This site is basically trying to cement some of the static information and knowledge that I've seen floating around the forums. This doesn't aim to replace it but what it tries to do is capture the information that you'd usually have to go sifting through pages and pages of stuff to get in an easy to read article. As most of you know I'm not very technically minded. What I'd like are contributors - because we as a community should own and be responsible for the information!! To this end I'm currently looking for 3 things- 1- Technical articles written as articles (not just yarns) that either directly or indirectly relate to cefiros. Examples of cefiro related stuff is too_much_boosts article on SR20 conversions. I've been bugging him to do this for cefiroz, and luckily sky80 asked in the thread so he was nice enough to put up a write up which I've since put onto cefiroz for future reference. Not cefiro specific stuff includes things like audio installs, which I will be putting up onto the site in the next month or so. This will include things like HID kit install, sound deadening, fibreglass boot installs. We also need to cement some of the great wealth of information from you rb25 and rb20 owners! Some of too_much_boost's planned articles are daughterboard tuning and comparisons between turbos he has experience with. I'm keen to have articles on the majority of stuff, exhausts, even suspension. Things like the parts that are interchangable from other nissans will be a big one. I know with everyones pooled knowledge and supprot we can get a great resource site owned by the community for the community. 2- "Members rides" type of thing I'm keen to get the sort of thing happening like in the sticky threads of the cefiro section here. Basically - please send me some pics and write ups about your car !! I'd like to have ATLEAST 10 or so profiles of peoples cars. Mods and all. If you're not keen on listing your mods that's fine too. Provide dyno sheets where possible! Please email these to me! 3- Banner! As you can see my banner is quite a quick design jobbie. I would like to have a number of different random banners with all your cars in them. To this end any of you design graphics peoples out there with cefiros please design a banner!! It should- - fit into the overall design - be the same dimensions as the current banner (646x111 px) - have the cefiroz text and the southern cross design in there (.psd available on request please email me, colour change is ok, so is positioning changes etc) It'd be great to have actual cars that we have in Australia in the banner but you can use images you find on the net also. Also any suggestions/feedback is welcome please post up here I'm looking for initial user site interaction impressions to start a log of issues that you guys see with the site so I can start to rectify them (as it's still very much in the development stage.) My email is tom at coolchaos dot com . PMs are ok too!

Fibreglass boxing and optimal sub enclosure size
someonestolecc replied to someonestolecc's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Awesome. Thanks. With that I should be armed with everything I need to know. Need a part time installer who doesn't play any instruments? I think I'll be okay with the chickenwire because the shape will more or less be rectangular but it need to go around the strut brace. It will also try to be semi stealth and very practical. I was more concerned that if I didn't do it all in one peice it wouldn't got as well. Is it okay to make the initial moulds of the plug in more than one piece then join them up and re fit? -

Thanks Marty that's great pointers. I did not think about it sagging actually - I have noticed this. Is chicken wire a good mitigating strategy? I was thinking of taking the initial mould from the plug in 2 or more parts. Once I have the basic design rip the chicken wire out of it (I don't like the idea of unnessary parts being left on the inside) then put it all together with more fibreglass. I'm familar with the mdf ring and dowel technique that's on the net so I'm trying that. Then stretch the fabric over it and keep glassing. I don't usually use gloves, I might start. I have a respirator that's rated for asbestos so I'm assuming fibreglass particles aren't smaller than asbestos - otherwise I'm screwed. How many layers do you suggest? I was thinking 5-10 light ones but I always don't want to make it too heavy. Will I need to sand between fibreglass/resin applications if it dries? I've read this somewhere but it didn't seem necessary. Thanks again. Pics will be up when I do it step by step for others -

Hay you mentioned flat piston subs first!! hehe Thanks very much for the volume. Hopefully this will improve my response and at the very least if it's the same as it is now I'll be happy to have some more bootspace Is there anything else I need to know before I start? I might give this a go in the next month or so as soon as I have some more money to buy fibreglass and paint etc and think about the design of mounting amps etc. When I do I will post up pics. -

sr20 -> cefiro what parts needed?
someonestolecc replied to sky80's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
The workshop who did my car didn't exactly to a good job either sky80 so you wanna stay away from them, whoever they were. Listen to too_much he does good work, if you need to look at my car you're welcome to check it out also. BHDave commented on my gearbox mounts being good so you may like to copy that but that's pretty much it. too_much if you wouldn't mind would you please keep it in the thread so others (like me) can look at it? and so I can (with permission) use it on my website? -
Drill a couple of holes before the cat. Should let more air through and cause it to pop and splutter. (Not recommended but if you want the popping and spluttering..)

Professor Sheepdog. I just bought one of these. I don't know what you mean by 'copy' though? Copy of what?

nice cefiro w/ SR and cool front bar
someonestolecc replied to cefiro's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Grill and bar are one piece. One bloke at the last ceffynsw dyno day had this front bar. I don't really like it :innocent: -
Rezz in the Japan section knows alot about this. So does funkymonkey. You should search through some of the posts there and in the old school section cos I'm sure someone would have put the info or link up.
