suspension place around chatswood??
someonestolecc replied to cefiro's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I took my car to pedders at hornsby for alignment they seemed to do a good job at a reasonable price. On the other hand many years ago I took it there and I wasn't happy with their work. Cromer Exhaust might be able to help you too they charge a reasonable price (but again, I haven't always been happy with their work). I've long stopped expecting to be satisfied when it comes to mechanics. I'm sure you'd be able to find a few around Brooky too. -
Cops speeding, not indicating and parking illegally see it often enough to remember it but not the majority of the time. Just like me but mostly it's not stupid hooning or anything I would really pay attention to. But then again I think 70kmh in a 60kmh at your discretion is ok so long as your discretion itself is ok. So if I see a copper doing this I don't mind, I would just get the shits if the same copper booked me for 70kmh in a 60 in the same place/conditions. Once I saw a copper hooning that pissed me off.. He looked at me like p platers sometimes do the "LOOKOUT I HAVE A LICENSE AND IM HARD AND I CAN USE IT" look.

Someone get another person to join in - we can proceed with 5!! -
My car won't move if I don't idle it for atleast 1-2mins. It just dies if you put the accel in. My car is also not stock, so it wasn't "made" to be driven straight off it was made to make more power, handle better and stop better. Does that mean I'm injuring it and I should try to make it be able to take off in around 20secs?

Where's my parts SYDNEYKID (Matt)!!!
someonestolecc replied to agg25's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Hey mate sorry to hear about your loss and your situation. The SydneyKid on ns.com isn't the same as the SydneyKid on SAU. You'll hope it's not the case but it might be a case of someone seeing the real S-Kid's posts on SAU, and assuming (quite rightly) that he is a respected and knowledgable guy that they'd use his name on another forum he isn't on and leverage the respect he commands. I hope for your sake that that isn't whats occured and that the other person on ns.com was just coincidently using the name and wasn't out to rip you off. Good luck with your gear but I'm sure you can find 100's of people that would vouch for S-Kid and I'm one of them. -
Fronts no idea cos I fitted 6.5" Rear I wouldn't bother with 6x9's unless you're not going to put in a sub. I would recommend any speakers in the back are slanted forward not to bounce off the rear glass as much. If you slanted you could anything in there and my pick would be some average 6". I'm actually using the standard-ish carrozeria in there because rear fill isn't my concern. Sure it's a 4 seater but if you're in the back and want good sound get a walkman So in saying this you should consider if you're not expecting to entertain people in the back you don't bother with any and use the money on some decent fronts. I highly recommend sound deadening and some decent sized front speakers with spacers.

It sounds oh so tough too.

where can i get some spacers
someonestolecc replied to Ontryl's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
cefs have inner drum brakes. They need the skyline brake upgrade though if they're done up imo. get the spacers that actually bolt onto the hub then the wheel bolts onto the spacer. You might need longer hub studs/bolts thingies. -

Hi there, Good luck on finding your information - it's all here already however as this topic has been covered before. Try searching for it and you should be able to dig up the info you're after. You should really learn how to spell and form sentences properly and you'll get more response too. -
For someone who has never seen this event in the flesh and would one day like to have a go (just to run and have some legal fun on varied environments) you're right. I have no idea of it's entirety and it's frustrating to watch on tv. Is there anyway to get any better footage? Do the SAU guys take their own footage?

There was so much interest when I first posted now I don't know where it's all gone. I'll chase up the maybes and hopefully we can get it rolling. Will post back within a couple of days - PM me if you're eagerer than a beaverer. -

Heh yeah my mates '69 statesman also had power windows. They wound better a year ago than any power windows I see today (even new ones). I reckon they could decapitate a rodent they were that strong. -
cef front bar any kind...i dont really care
someonestolecc replied to sky80's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Was just a bit suprised you'd say that with all your interior bling Nah seriously though I was actually thinking about this the other day and thought the reality is we don't even NEED our cars.. Why not just drive a prius? So I was trying to make the point need/want balance is subjective... I *need* my cefiro.. I *want* a rb30. Some kid in Africa wants a plastic bucket but needs a big leaf (to scoop water with).. i dono it's all perspective. -
Thanks I never knew that. I might stop warming her up for 5-10mins heh I thought I was doing the good thing.

Heh I also have both... interestingly on a '88 cefiro -
I let the car get the oil temp up and water temp close to up to operating temp. Why does idling it does more harm than good?

There was a place at bankstown (or something) I found that did that particular alarm for about $550 installed I think. I didn't trust them to do as good-er job of installing an alarm than I could so I didn't end up using them.

Thanks for the pics they look great. Nice wing.

Thanks, I could have sworn I read somewhere not to use shockproof in syncro boxes. Ahh I dono I ended up buying shockproof light for the gearbox and shockproof heavy for my mechanical diff. Thanks for the info seems I was trippin
