  1. lol. perhaps we can get some inspiration from this bloke... i spyed this one on the freeway doing some testing for superlap... judging by the number of vortex generators and the twin fuel polarisers i believe it'll be in pro class too..
  2. lol, don't forget the "o" in count mate.... *cough.
  3. hell yeah. I always knew you had taste greg. always been a snapper dresser! c'mon andrew. as if vin wants to be seen in a 300C. they are just a poor mans caddy in the US. and still a cheapo car here. go the valiant. it's aussie and has some style! and will blow a 300C into the weeds.
  4. the cossie would be nice. do it up in seton graphics and i'll give you back the seton seat! lol.
  5. your boyfriend told me you are far quicker than 12 seconds fatz....
  6. lol, cat is out of the bag! but how awesome does it look? truly nothing else like it in aus.
  7. all I can say is i'm a slack bastard! I ended up moving apartments and taking a little holiday which meant no net time at all. but I'll get back to them. promise as for the AUD no one can predict what will happen. it certainly would seem to be undervalued but we will always get beat up in tough times as our markets are not good value. we are quite safe and were a good proposition with interest rates at near 10% but with rates now way down we are not good value. plus in tough times investors bring their money home or stick it in safe places, and debt in japan is very safe so their dollar gets artificially propped up. that is just one aspect of it though, there are so many factors influencing comparative exchange rates. plus being a small market also means we get heavily affected by movements that would hardly make a ripple in other markets.
  8. lol. VDC off. TRC off. DHAB off. You know in one part where the car was lit up by headlights I could swear the bloke driving it looked like mines_datsun... and I swear that wall had a queue of people standing behind it waiting for a bus... coincidence? I think not.
  9. mumma mia! that's a spicy meatball you have there. any more details? turbo(s)? suspension? it looks very serious, and very nicely done so far. no doubt it will be a weapon as ben certainly knows how to make a quick track GTR. when it's finished I'd be happy to test crash... i mean test drive it for you...
  10. looks hot fatz. let me guess, you could only afford 3 TE37s as you spent the 4th one on beers. now saving up to buy a new 4th TE37 and complete the set. keep at it big boy.
  11. I'd say he didn't engage the 'driver has a brain' mode and he also forgot to switch on the 'stop car understeering when entering corners too fast' mode. also VDC can't save you from understeering into a wall.
  12. double d'oh. hope his dad gave him a nice left hook. what a butt pirate.
  13. well the evo was pretty rapid and sounded pretty tough too. considering the R35 driver nearly understeered off the road on at least 2 corners during the run you'd think those brown moments would have caused him to have a little think about what he was doing and draw the conclusion that he was way out of his depth and driving at speed well above his skill level and just pull things back a notch and drive normally. but for some reason his brain doesn't seem to have that capacity. the real crime here is the knob will probably just file an insurance claim and get a new one which of course comes out of the pocket of all the sensible drivers his insurance company insures.
  14. I think we have a weiner!!! I mean winner.
  15. the pads being endless CC-R are a pretty hard core track pad. they will squeal like a biatch, with or without shims, and yes the brembos come with shims as standard. no I wouldn't try and use your old sumitomo ones. you can buy new ones from nissan. or get some aftermarket titanium ones which are supposed to give a good heat barrier too .
  16. troy, the blue 36 looks like a winner. if it's nice and has good bits then $20K is not too bad. a decent one here is still $30K+
  17. do not get troy started on a TVR..... I like him just the way he is.... alive.
  18. That's what I'm talkin bout! A nice valiant would be perfect for vin.
  19. series 1. but with the latest gearbox firmware etc. and is not one of the really early cars that suffered some box problems. as for RNS11Z read my post again if you are unclear. "will be the last ever JDM R35 GTR imported under SEVS. So in a small way it's a little bit historic." in a small way a little bit historic. ie of some small historic significance. the last ever complied JDM 35 in aus. jeez it's hardly a big deal. just a small point I mentioned. it certainly doesn't make the car any more or less valuable. just an interesting fact for the new owner.
  20. tell him your name is earl and your a mate of mine. you may not get a drive but you might get a free coffee... (woohoo!). lol.
  21. I reckon Z-tune would be the winner for sure. or an R35 wouldn't go down too badly I think. I have one but not sure about lending it out! lol. and for vin maybe some aussie musscle. he's surely had plenty of yank cars by now. maybe a nice Ford GT (at least they are 4door, and there are some amazing GTHO replicas/real deal out there). or maybe a nice monaro (either old or new) or a worked torana etc. lots of show quality ones out there. ps, i'll be offended if you don't remember who I am big boy... anyway, my R35 (pics taken back when it was at the showroom in japan).
  22. are you talking front or rear diff? and the diffs have no relation to the gearbox or transfer case. (well apart from the fact they they give you the final drive ratio). the cheapest and easiest route will be to source another 32 GTR diff if you're talking rear, or even better pull yours out and have it rebuilt with the nismo clutch pack kit. front is just an open diff, you should be able to get a second hand one easily enough.
  23. Listen: v. i. To give close attention with the purpose of hearing; to give ear; to hearken; to attend. Listen: v. i. To give heed; to yield to advice; to follow admonition; to obey. I think harry has some pretty good points. I know you argue that it's 'state level' and not a 'club championship'. but tell me what apart from the name is different between the cams state level supersprints and the AROCA/HSV/WRX/SSCC events? I've competed in both and they both seem the same to me. they both cost about the same. they both have the same classes. they both run at the same tracks. and they are both entry level motorsport. which is the key. I think it's great you get out there in your formula holden and I would never seek to exclude anyone from racing, but you did buy the car knowing what rules and classes it fitted surely? so if you wanted to be eligible for points etc you could have bought a different car and competed for points? supersprints are like regularity. they are in the main there for guys with road cars to get out on the track in a safe and affordable form of motorsport competition. usually the serious guys with dedicated race cars move on to any of the number of local, state or national championships. taking a formula holden to a supersprint to compete against bob smith in his 2 litre 1983 alfa GTV or frank jones in his road going 32 GTR is like bringing a bazooka to an arm wrestle. I could totally understand if you bought a car that was eligible, and then they changed the rules to exclude you. that would be completely unfair. but that is not what has happened here. sure it's nice to win, but it's hardly a fair fight to bring a car that in top form is capable of near on a minute flat around the GP Circuit to beat cars that at best will get to mid teens. the outright lap record at OP GP I think is still a formula holden at around 61 or 62 seconds. state level, suburb level, international level whatever level supersprints are an entry level form of motorsport and a formula holden is far from an entry level car. BTW well done on hussling the thing round as quick as you do. people always think it's easy to drive a fast car fast, but it's not. it's far easier to reach the potential of a slow car and look good doing it. 1:15 is quicker than i've ever been around GP circuit that's for sure. if you really want to run the formula holden in a series then you should talk to AASA and see what is happening with all the guys that were running in ozboss etc. surely those cars aren't all running in 'state level' super sprints around the country.
  24. the slots don't matter, it's the direction of the vanes that's important. in the pic posted you can just see the curve/angle of the vanes is correct. phunky, yours may have the slots cut the other way in relation to the vanes. (ie with the rotors mounted correctly vane wise your slots may face the other way).
  25. love the F40. pretty close to my favourite car of all time. my mate rory owns the classic throttle shop in nth sydney and yes he has some excellent cars in there. his shop is the way all car dealerships should be. drop my name in there at your own risk. lol.
