good stuff Tim! I should make a list of the top 10 or 20 must do experiences in japan. and I'm glad you sampled the MOS burger "japanese fine burger". They are good.
Japan is a great place to visit and certainly unique.
yeah it's a POV cam. not mentioned in this thread, but another one. they are good. I used one and was impressed. looks like I'll have to keep on with the DV cam set-up I have now.
yeah the POV ones are nice. too $ for me though. here's hoping he says it's a $20 cam he bought from a old bloke at the markets and he has 3 more spares he can sell me.... haha.
yeah 19s are probably the best choice. 18s are a bit small imo and could cause you some ground clearance problems... a 19 semi with right size sidewall will come in about the same overall diameter as the standard 20s with their low profile street tyres.
plus they look so silly on 18s!
standard R34 GTR wheels are a great choice for a 32 GTR. they can be had for a very reasonable price, are 18X9 +30, are forged (made by BBS in japan for nissan) and they look very good. they should be at the top of the list for most R32s.
edit: I had them on my old R32 GTR. I liked 'em.
just chucking 2.5 litres of oil in there is a bad idea and a waste of time and money. and it tells you nothing.
do it properly and actually discover if there is a problem. troy has told you how to do it. get a clean oil drip tray and drain ALL the oil. measure how much comes out, and what state it's in. then give it a nice 4.5l of new oil and a new filter. and do what he said about cleaning the catch tank and lines and using a clear line from the breathers to the can. why ask people here for advice if you don't plan on taking it?
yes it's possible. but you need to be aware that a sensor that is designed and calibrated to work in an 80mm tube will behave differently in a 65mm tube. ie it will 'read' a different airflow at the same voltage.
this is similar to nismo afms. they are a Z32 sensor in a GTR body, but they are recalibrated to suit.
there is a problem in that court/police penalties seem to be completely separate from any RTA sanctions/penalties.
a recent case was a guy I knew who had a fine with demerit points imposed by a police officer. he took it to court and won. he did not have to pay the fine, and the court found him not guilty, but the RTA still added demerit points to his licence and would not remove them. he asked the court and they advised that they were powerless over the RTA?!? weird one.
as per (most) of the advice above those wheels are not 32 GTR suitable. with such a high offset there is a chance they will contact upper control arm or have brake clearance problems. plus they are narrower than the standard wheels so they will look worse than standard and be worse than standard performance wise too.
I would not put them on a GTR even if they were free....
firstly, you want equal sized wheels all round. and you don't want to go narrower than stock. that is just silly. something like a 17X9 or 18X9 or 9.5 would be fine. offset between +15 and +25 tops.
not worth the hassle. the rears are completely different length. there is plenty of coil-over options both you and used for 32 GTR. just buy some that suit your car.
ronin's rear brakes are the 33/34 brembo calipers with Biot 3 piece rear rotors. fking awesome sexy piece of gear, but not for the light of wallet! I should know I sold it to him.

ronin truly is the asse of biot:
well just jap have a long history with ATTKD/Autech Tsukada and have even flown the owner out here to aus a number of times over the recent years. ATTKD is a relatively small but highly regarded tuner in japan and as such probably not many people outside of japan would know them, and they most likely don't really list all their parts on their website.
I have met the owner a number of times both here in aus when steve brought him out the first time, and at a number of events in japan. he is a great tuner and his shop turns out some top level GTRs and some great parts too.
makes sense. jimmy is a kiwi too. just like bruce.
ok, let's bring the budget back from half a mil down to the original plan. now that is depressing....
as much as I reckon the maclaren would be right up troys alley, I like him the way he is now..... alive.
I'll let him have himself an shelby mustang GT500 though. they don't list a price so it must be super cheap....lol

wait on the highway, flag down truck, pull pistol/shotgun/left hook, drive truck home. instant 10,000 litre stash. just like ye olde stage coach robberies.
