  1. I want to go to this workshop! if you know a place that can lend standard GTR exhaust, wheels with new tyres, standard suspension and can do the swap and swap back for $50 I'm totally there! there is at least 3-4 hours labour in all that, plus they need to get the parts from somewhere. most places I know charge their usual hourly rate (anything up to $100/hour) to do that work and you supply the parts, or pay them for parts they supply.
  2. couldn't agree more. like I said, negative gearing is great and makes you feel nice when you get that fat tax refund (especially if you offset enough to drop to a lower bracket) but a loss is still a loss (it's just less of a loss when you are using negative gearing). even at the top marginal rate you are only getting back 45odd cents in the dollar. what would you rather. 45 cents? or 1 dollar? I know which one I prefer.
  3. boost should not be still climbing all the way through the rev range like yours does, especially to only achieve 10spi on a standard turbo. something is wrong with the set-up for sure.
  4. yes, you need stock wheels, stock suspension, stock intercooler. if in doubt talk to the workshop that is complying your car.
  5. yeah there was a big shitfight in the US about the way in which motorex was 'meeting' the legal requirements. and with them gone I don't think anyone is importing skylines to the US for road use any more.
  6. it will pay to check up on motorex. there has been a lot of trouble with their company in recent years. to be honest I thought they had ceased trading or at least ceased importing skylines.
  7. providing you don't let all the fluid run out then just bleed the slave.
  8. one thing to remember is it's a pretty simple formula. larger bore means less travel, but lighter pedal. smaller bore means longer, faster travel, but more pedal effort needed.
  9. slave is dead easy to change. probably the easiest job you can do on a GTR next to putting fuel in it. the hardest part is getting down on the ground! basically go to the drivers side. jack the car up a bit. you'll see the slave on the side of the box. undo clutch hose, undo the two bolts. put new slave there. do up the two bolts do up the clutch line. undo the bleed nipple, bleed clutch. done. cubes. np.
  10. funny cause I had the exact same thing using the nismo slave with my OS tripple. clutch pedal needed to be depressed all the way or you had no hope. bought a brand new stock nissan one, sure pedal is a bit heavier but I find it easier to control and now works sweet as a nut. I've now used the stock slave with OS tripple and OS twin.
  11. I would definately buy a NEW core. there is so much time in swapping them over get a new one. Places like natrad, adrad etc will be able to give you a core of the right shape and size. from memory they are not expensive, maybe $100-$150.
  12. well the blue one looks pretty decent. and don't mind me, i'm just breakin ya balls a little.
  13. yep, leaking heater core, or possibly the hoses going to the heater core. either way it wont get better, only get worse until one day it dumps all of your coolant into your car which will wreck half your carpet and stink the car out for a long, long time. unfortunately it's not easy to fix. removing the heater core means removing nearly all of the dash very time consuming if you do it yourself and very expensive if you take it somewhere.
  14. well of course. safety first I say.
  15. so am I going to see this girl on girl action or not? i'm confused.
  16. no members in SA because as far as I know there is no SA club.
  17. well i did notice you seemed to get a lot faster in one session. way to take away my fun.
  18. ooh. 1 100th of a second between Liz and Corrine. Chick battle is hotting up.
  19. i've been wondering the same thing, but didn't want to look stupid...
  20. like I said, the acutal work takes very little time, but it can take up to 2 weeks to get the plate. the 'compliance papers' cannot be in canberra when your car arrives as it needs to be signed off by an engineer AFTER the compliance work has been completed, then paperwork submitted, then plate is sent.
  21. Hi guys, I'm selling a set of noltec rear subframe bushes for R32 GTR. They apparently suit R32 GTST and possibly other skyline models too. They are a complete replacement for the factory bush and will work wonders for the handling of your skyline. Price is $150 for the set + postage (approx $10 to most of Aus). Pick-up is available from me in Sydney, northside. Retail on these is $260 so pretty cheap at $150.
  22. well the actual vehicle modification takes very little time, but the process of compliance takes about 2-3 weeks from dropping car off, to picking up plated car. my advice is ask the shop doing the compliance who long they take.
  23. that is sad news poor guy. it's a reminder that it can happen to any one of us anytime you take your car onto the track. thank god most of the time it doesn't!
  24. mmm audi S4. the gay mans thinking mobile. or is it the thinking mans gay mobile. I forget which, but the message is clear. 1600kg AWD with 200kw (about 150awkw i'm guessing) it's not my faviourite recipe for excitment. but i can't argue that it will have a far nicer interior than the skyline.
