Circuit R33 Gtr - Midnight Purple
XKLABA replied to tk80's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
$44k, cheap and well worth every penny, if I had the cash sitting around and the room this car would be heading to my house I to have seen this car in the flesh and was very impressed with it, unfortunately I am nearing the end of my own build and out of spare moneys ATM GLWS Trent -
Brembo Brakes Squealing....again...
XKLABA replied to Deza3000's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The anti squeal stuff is different the the copper silicone, I had Project Mu discs and pads on my R34 and they where terrible and the anti squeal did dick, the copper silicone did help but didn't fix it completely, a few good hard brakes to get them upto temp would work but not always possible, mine only squealed if I braked lightly, hard brake would see no noise Problem with street/track pads is they need to be used hard or they glaze the rotors and squeal like crazy, the softer you drive/brake the worse they get If just a normal road car drop some normal street bendix pads in it and see how it goes -

How much variation between cylinders is there. Are they all close cause if they are it is most likely a machanical problem -

Scott says the software is a bit clunky but it does exactly what its told and does a great job of controlling the engine I've been playing with it a bit and once you figure out how the poms talk it gets easier -
And as GTSboy said there are a few different output shafts, not that it matter if your getting the matching ones, the R32 GTR has iirc a 30 spline for the early cars and a 31 spline for later models which is same as 33 and 34 GTRs, not totally sure about the A-LSD diameters but am going to find out soon

Yeah my bad, short nose, all short nose will interchange with other short nose and long for long but not short for long and vise versa due to pinion length, obviously, I gotta stop posting while working, that's the second time this week I've mucked it up I have just bought a new Navara centre for my 34, will do a write up on how that goes I do believe only the R34 GTR got the 3.545 ratios and the Navaras are high 4s to low 5s, the BSM GTr team put the 3.545 ratio into their R32 GTR race car

What head gasket ? -
The gears can be changed in car, its not a fun job by any means, if it needs to be machined you might be able to die grind enough as it is only a real little bit that came off mine, it will be a PITA but yeah can be done The R200 long nose diff ratios are all interchangeable, from 3.55 through to a 5.08 from a Navara iirc, I bought new 3.55 ratios for my 34 and the old ones I plan to put into the 32

Rb26 Compression With Poncams Type-B
XKLABA replied to andre_gtr's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
100 psi is very low, what exactly did you change when doing the rebuild, are the cams timed correctlyThose setting should actually increase the compression reading, even if it is only a little bit as they aren't that big of a change -

This /\ /\ When I built my engine I comp tested at +/- 150psi before starting it, started it and let it run for 5mins, dumped oil refilled with mineral diesel oil, took it out to the M4 did some controlled loading till I got to the mountains then vaired from 3500rpm to 4500rpm as it climbed the hill came back down turned around and did a couple of 2nd gear hill starts at 4000-5500rpm, went home dumped oil and refilled then comp tested at +/- 170psi, a year later it comp tested at the same +/-170psi -

Sorry mate it looks like it got binned -
Yeah this, if the front brakes have been upgrade alot more then the back then the front will want to lock and send the ABS skits effectively reducing your braking power I have just done the 6 piston AP with 355 discs up front and hard braking now sees the ABS activate a lot earlier, am waiting for pipe adapters to fit matching rear 4 pistons What's you setup ?
-
I just got that exact feeling
-
No I was wrong, it was a 2400cc to race in the 4000cc class ( x 1.7 for forced induction ) but the addition of the 4wd made it to heavy so they went up to the 4500cc class, and am still it sure what i was thinking of and where I got the 2.5 idea from And it is the 25-26 rods that are the same lenght, 30s are longer, massive fail on my part
-
Wow, schooled, I'll have to go back and have another look cause I'm sure I have 26 rods and 25 pistons in my 30 block but now you have got me thinking, I might have that wrong I'm also sure it was 2.5 as 2500cc was the class limit and cause of the weight of the 4WD system they increased it 70cc and went up a class, been a long time since I read into it, will try and find it
-
Pfft, just get a BC 2.9 stroke and enjoy the torque Trust me ya get use to it enventually
-
The reduced comp height is to account for the extra stroke, the GTR was originally built with a 25, but cause of the weight of the thing they increased the capacity to over 2.5 putting it in a different class and did so increasing the stroke and corrected it by lowering the comp height I have way way to much time to kill
