  1. That's interesting, I'll have to remember where I heard that, I've based my builds off it so I don't have to run past 7-7.5rpm I'm sure it was when I was helping the BSM guys
  2. The 7k limit was to reduce excessive engine wearI track both my stock cam stock turbo R32 GTR and my -7 type R poncam R34 GTR, the 34 has better tyres suspension and brakes and making 60 rwkw more and with the extra lag it's just under 2 secs slower around Wakefield, can only imagine how bad it would be if the boost came on a 4k
  3. 4k is to late, the stock cammed stock turbo GTR make 250awkw your chasing around the track has hit boost out of the corner and is half way down the straight while your waiting for boost to come on and when it does he is already on the brakes for the next corner use a lower gear you say, ok while your fighting the car for traction and changing gear mid corner the stock GTR has put the power down in the right gear for that corner and is nearly at the next one an rb26 reving to 8-8.5k on the track isn't gonna last long no matter what you've done to it, even the Winfield cars where limited to 7000rpm
  4. i got a whole running rb30 for $50, kept the block and crank and recycled the rest was once given a complete bottom end before 30s where done in GTRs and scraped the idea and binned the block that is a sweeeeeet Z, would love to have one with a 2630 in it, mad skids every thing that needs to be said has been about the damage, it def looks like oil supply issue where it be a air surge or not enough flow to the bottom end
  5. I wasn't sure if that was how you did it as it wasn't stated and that isn't right they should hold that fine if i get it right i can make them flutter for about 10 seconds, something i do when i'm bored driving around good to see it's sorted, on to enjoying it your not in western sydney area by chance, i saw a nice white 260 parked at the shops where we get coffees
  6. BOVs need positive pressure in the signal port, the 6mm hose off the top, to remain closed and the. When that drops or goes to vacuum the valve opens Fluttering as you described is normal for a GTR, both mine do it Give it a full service, all fluids and filters, it's hard to guess the problem over the Internet
  7. This week or next, I'm not getting them early I have to wait for them to be available like every one else I was told they will be here around now
  8. The 1000s are just that little bit to small and the 2000s are over kill for what I'm expecting from my setup, the 1300s look like they will hit the spot nicely, and if they fall a bit short the pressure can be turned up to see over 1900 from them
  9. I'll get the 1300s and THEN they will release 1500s That'll be my luck
  10. Yeah sorry that's my bad, A v8 is what was said and my father in law has A v8 and Paul makes more rwkws at 3000 then that v8 makes peak at the fly That said spend the kind of coin I guesstimate Paul has making his the machine it is to a V8 and between 2-3000 rpm you'd be pissin in the wind trying to match it
  11. I beg to differ, your car has heaps more down low then my father-in-laws 5.7 chev powered commonwhore
  12. Haha can't help stupid postage times, also a lack of organisation isn't helping
  13. i'm hoping to pick them up this week, then I have to wait for some other stuff before I can get them tuned, probs 3-4 weeks still
  14. 1st do cam gears on stock cams
  15. I have 2 100cell 3" in and out with 5" bodies in my r34 gtr, they flow really well
  16. I once found a 13mm spanner in the BOV return pipe Lowered comp ratio will make turbo spool later and make it feel sluggish off boost A set of cam gears tuned for response will help to
  17. also cam timing will increase off boost power and bring turbos on sooner you say forged motor what is the comp ratio ?, base timing, as stated already, makes a big difference check the actuators are set correctly and a EBC will also bring turbos on sooner by reducing waste gate creep what exhaust do you have ? is there a rag in your intercooler ?
  18. I had this with my EBoost 1, my car comes on boost so fast the EBoost couldn't catch it and would just put it into safety mode dropping it to waste gate pressure Drop the EBoost and get a good jap one, I use the HKS EVCs 4 and 5 without issues, I know others use different ones but any of the good name Japanese one will do the job
  19. fair call, AWD got me stumped for a sec but i'm good now and agree
  20. ha ha, that's every thing I like in GTR
  21. what is the wing extension ? that blue one looks awesome
  22. Fark AFMs, map proved its self to me when that happened, meant we could just drive back to Pauls
  23. Was lucky enough to drive this on the weekend, it drives really nice till the loud pedal hits the flour then all hell breaks loose, my god the only thing I've felt accelerate faster than that was a turbo charged R1 Yamaha Very easy to drive between 2-3000rpm with nice smooth acceleration and plenty of drive Thanks Paul for honour, I enjoyed it immensely, should be a massive weapon on the track when the suspension is finished PS, sorry about breaking it
  24. if you put in a walbro, then a rewire is recommended, any aftermaket pump install would benefit a rewire
  25. Haha Exactly what I thought
