  1. Haha not sure if serious... or jealous.... Swing by sometime today man? give me a txt
  2. The only reason I'm doing this engine is because I wanted to build an engine. Expensive hobby that one. Next time I'll get an old engine from the wreckers and pull it apart and put it together, sounds alot cheaper Looks like the ext wastegate setup is going to work with the smaller gate to. And everything spins nicely If I get keen tomorrow I'll be putting the pistons in (Yes that photo is bare block basically) and doing the same sort of thing as I did today to make sure no pistons are slapping the valves as that would make me sad
  3. I forgot that theres 2 less rods and pistons then RB's as well lol, so that would make it a bit cheaper then what I was thinking. I'm enjoying engine building anyway
  4. Should do 300-350rwkw on pump fuel. Probably.looking at a Max of 320 but anything over 300 is fine Yes I know its overkill for that power but I've got room to move if I decide to later on
  5. Seems more hassel then its worth to go top feed at the moment. I think I'll paint up the stock 25 rail and just go some side feeds did some playing around with my good head and the timing belt etc today, looking pretty good
  6. It only has a switch off point. It comes on at low RPM when it has met certain criteria from memory. if you stab the throttle you might hear it click but if you hold it on 1200rpm or so it will possibly be on then switch off as there is no load The point of VCT is to increase low down torque so you want it on as early as possible, The Power FC has an off triger only for this reason I think in your case you want to turn it on later for troubleshooting however?
  7. Check your diff bushes as well. Mine has been much louder since I went polyurethene bushes everywhere around the diff, especially 60kmh or above. Might have a worn bush etc As others have said check everything before just going out and buying a new diff
  8. switching VCT Off higher in the rev range? Power FC will do this if thats what your talking about If not then disregard this message
  9. Why so cheap And why selling?
  10. Boxer engine is the downfall of the FT86. I think they are one of the coolest cars of 2012 but would never buy one due to the engine Why couldnt they make a little I4 turbo for the thing
  11. All good, I'll get some at Melbourne GP 2013
  12. Cheper then Nismo's and look like they come with o-rings, wiring and collar so not so bad. Might give them a go Will have to spend some more money once I work out whats going on with this Power FC
  13. Anyone had any experience with Power Enterprise Injectors? They look like they might be good and come in 850cc side feed so might end up getting some unless someone can talk me out of it
  14. Just found this on the Greenline website in the notes for Power FC: "When used on 93/8~95/1 models, A/F voltage1~4 needs to be increased 6% (In supplied map)" Would this make any difference? I'm using a Z32 AFM BTW Also If i were to adjust these, is it done in the Air flow section of FC-Edit (Where the different type of AFM's are) or the Air flow Curve section? I dont know if this would make any difference to the timing problem but better off asking in case its something this simple
  15. O.K I need some advice with this from the people who know the Power FC inside out I have tested it on another R33, which was basically stock standard. Did data init, started it, turned off (Skipping the idle learn, as it was a once only drive) and went for a drive. Performed the same way, dropped IGN around 10 degrees after closed throttle and jumped back to normal 1-2 seconds afterwards I've been in contact with the company it was purchased from new and got told that basically it isn't covered under warranty becasue I am not the original buyer, fair enough. They said I can send it back to Apexi Japan and they will look at it but may not admit there is a fault with it etc and I will have to pay for postage and I'm guessing repairs also So its a big risk to take for what could be no gain, I could end up spending a couple of hundred dollars So seen as it seems to be a fault with the unit itself, Is it likely that it is something simple like a dry/bad solder join that has a poor circuit or something repairable locally by someone who deals with Power FC repairs? Because if it is likely to be something like that I would rather send it somewhere in Australia for someone to look at, Because I think theres a better chance that something will be reported to me and fixed, and it will happen alot quicker So what do people think? I'm not sure who does repairs on Power FC's but I know there is someone who does (Perhaps it was one of the bigger tuning companies) Any help would be appreciated, because at the moment It's looking a bit like I've wasted my money
